Yeah. Some people assume that because it's running on PC, it's being developed for PC. They could just be using it to develop the game for consoles. They stated that it's running on hardware similar to that of PS3. That's a dead giveaway. I'm not gonna live in hope that it's coming to PC until Kojima himself confirms PC version.Rednog said:Run it on a PC and yet it will never see the light of day for PC gamers, I hate you video game industry...I hate you so very much.
I doubt it's Raiden. This kid seems to have brown hair, I was thinking it could be Solid Snake as a child (btw that would have been REALLY cool), but most likely it's Chico from Peace Walker.Lucem712 said:It could be Raiden, though wasn't Raiden under Solidus? Though, I could be wrong. Maybe this is Hideo's way of introducing a new protagonist for the future.
Well Squeenix could start by making them like proper RPG's again rather than watered down mash-X-to-win affairs like 13.worldfest said:After that, real gaming critics and journalists have to waste their hours writing articles about the obvious changing conditions in video games instead of why SquareEnix hasn't a clue what to do in selling Final Fantasy to western audiences.

That comparison video...............AzrealMaximillion said:You're right about that. Judging from the 2 trailers the Platinum Games version actually looks worse than the original.GenGenners said:You mean aside from what looks to be a completely different game engine? The pre- and post-Platinum Games trailers look quite different.AzrealMaximillion said:Ummm Platimun Games picked up MG Rising after is was very close to cancelling it. And to be honest from the trailers we've seen they haven't really changed the game at all. it still looks like the Afro Samurai game's combat mechanics skinned with MGS4.cursedseishi said:That snake pretty much HAS to be Big Boss considering...
They make mention of both Paz and Chico in the present tense, and referring to the end of Peacewalker by saying that Paz was found still alive.
It'll be interesting to see the differences between Old Boss-snake and Old Solid Snake. He certainly didn't seem nearly as brittle as Old Solid was.
One of the interesting tidbits not mentioned either, was that you can select the music that plays when you have a helicopter coming to extract you. Yet, how loud that music is also determines how aware the enemy might become of you during said extraction. So... might want to think twice before you load up some metal into your choppers playlist!
Yep, because its totally Kojima working on Metal Gear Rising: Reveangance, and nooooooot Platinum games. Yeah. Platinum has definitely been doing nothing at all with the game. No sir.AzrealMaximillion said:Aaaaah, so I see that this is what Kojima has been actually working on while letting the Metal Gear Rising team do nothing for 2 years.

So I take my original statement back.
Hideo Kojima wasn't majorly involved either way but the original version at least looked a lot less repetitive. Revengeance (worst made up word ever?) looks to be more like the worst parts of Bayonetta combined with the sliding of Vanquish.
And they took out the "free cut" feature. (Or as I call it, the "Improved version of the only thing the Afro Samurai video game had going for it" feature.) Now its just another Devil May Cry-like.
MGS: Ground Zeroes looks freaking amazing though, glad to see that Kojima still can make beautiful games.
At least two of us see the light. There's simply no immersion in the repetition of their gameplay, pressing 'x' every eight seconds.SkarKrow said:Well Squeenix could start by making them like proper RPG's again rather than watered down mash-X-to-win affairs like 13.worldfest said:After that, real gaming critics and journalists have to waste their hours writing articles about the obvious changing conditions in video games instead of why SquareEnix hasn't a clue what to do in selling Final Fantasy to western audiences.

If you watch the extended gameplay video, they call in a helicopter around the 12:40 mark, and I kid you not, it's actually playing Flight of the Valkyries. Seriously, check it out:The Last Nomad said:Considering:cursedseishi said:It'll be interesting to see the differences between Old Boss-snake and Old Solid Snake. if its not possible to call in a chopper playing Rise of the Valkaries at full blast, then what is the point? One of the interesting tidbits not mentioned either, was that you can select the music that plays when you have a helicopter coming to extract you. Nope. His problem is he's one of those college students who took an economics and a politics class for one smester and thinks he knows everything now. So basically he's an asshole.flarty said:And what are you doing about this in your own life? apart from moaning on an internet forum.worldfest said:There's a lot of things to get angry about; I'm sure the longer you live (heck, I'm twenty-two) the more you'll broaden your horizons and realize just how much is at stake in other more pressing areas -- i.e globalization, politics, economics, your future love life (and that's a big "if" -- oh!). Soon video games will be just what they were meant to be to us, a pass time. But enough about you.
Oh yeah tell me what the cost of the ps3 was on release? and how much for a decent gaming rig? I made a massive upgrade to my pc about 4/5 years ago, since then ive got maried, now have a 2 year old daughter, and bought my own house, and upgraded my graphics card which was £160 for a 560ti and i max out all games.
Edit: might as well add in im also studying an open university degree in environmental science while working full time. Damn my PC addiction leaving me no time for anything else

Yup, 13-2 was better but still crappy, they shot themselves in the foot with the battle system. Say what you want about 12 but at least you had to use your brain to suceed in that game, same with 10, yes it's slower, but it's a lot more engrossing to play.worldfest said:At least two of us see the light. I know. Although if they cut out all the bullshit from the game. The pointless cut scenes etc i bet the game would fit on one disk easy. I recently played the HD release of 3 and 4 and wow there is so much pointless crap in the game.GenGenners said:Will be interesting to see just how many corners will have to be cut to make it for the 360.
Wow... The old one looks amazing, the new one not so much. I know MGS has never been 'realistic' but the new one looks WAY WAY over the top compared to previous games. I got more of a MGS feeling from the original.AzrealMaximillion said:You're right about that. Judging from the 2 trailers the Platinum Games version actually looks worse than the original.

Same game engine but with reskinned graphics, the original trailers were literally only tech demo's and nothing else.GenGenners said:You mean aside from what looks to be a completely different game engine? The pre- and post-Platinum Games trailers look quite different.
notice the icons at the end....Ps3...AND xbox360...this game looks way too good for EITHER console though, so the graphics are deffinitly not going to be as good on consoles unfortunatly..and as an xbox owner...how many disks will this thing have?!uchytjes said:Looks INCREDIBLE. Too bad i don't own a PS3. but, should it be out for XBOX360, i'll definitely buy it ASAP.
