Watches, how do you wear yours?

I wear mine facing up on my left wrist, wearing it on my right just feels alien and wrong.

I haven't had a watch for almost three years, since the TSA stole my last one at Orlando International Airport as I returned home from a holiday in the USA. I almost got arrested as a terrorist then too, for forgetting to remove said watch and some loose change twice. Now, I just use my iPod and mobile phone, but I used to wear my watch the normal way on my left wrist...

I usually carry a pocket watch but it's a cheap one I got a while ago. I'll get a proper one eventually. But when I do wear a wrist watch, I wear it on my non-dominant hand (right in this case. Lefty's unite!) with the face aligned with the back of my hand. I suppose that's all because I mostly see women wearing watches aligned with their palm and men wearing them aligned with the back of their hand and, being a man, I figured that was simply the accepted way to wear a watch.

I wear mine the same way OP does (inside of the wrist), it's just easier and quicker to check the time with it that way, and also more discrete in certain situations.

In all honesty, I can't think of any practical reason to wear it on the outside of the wrist; it's easier to damage and harder to look at, the only thing it accomplishes is displaying the watch to the rest of the world. And as far as I'm concerned, sacrificing practicality for the sake of appearance is just stupid.

anti-theists and my little pony fans are obviously the top 2, but there's a lot of overlap and I can't think of any others that would push pocket watchers out of the #3 slot

it's not the pocket watches themselves, but it's the sort of attitude you have to have to think "man wearing a pocket watch would be the best possible way to describe my personality"

It depends, if I'm wearing a watch as part of a suit it's normal, with the face on othe outside of my wrist.

However for various reasons at work I wear my watch like the below poster. It helps when doing certain activities and also prevents certain things from happening, so it stops me having to wear a cover.

I recently received a Watch from my Father after it got too hard for him to read it properly, and I've taken it to wearing it with the face on the flat of my wrist, facing towards me when I have my palm upturned, because I find it easier and more accessible, as I do most things with my palms facing upwards. Everyone else however finds it weird and cannot fathom my logic, preferring to wear it the 'standard' way, or just keep it tucked in their pocket, unused thanks to the wonders of the Smartphone.

So Fellow Escapists, how do you wear your Watch, or do you even use one at All? And why is it you do what you do?

When I wore a watch, it was on the top side of my left wrist, just above said wrist.

I have a pocket watch I carry. There is no substitute for that kind of awesome.

I have both a wrist watch, and a pocket watch and they're both skeleton frames.

Now all I need is a monocle, a pipe, and the top hat. Then I'll be steampunk. I'm already considered the steampunk person of the group of people I hang out with.

Well strangely enough from my childhood through High school, I had wore my watch on my right wrist eventhough I write using my right hand. It didn't felt awkard with me from writing with the watch on. I don't know why but it felt weird having the watch on my left wrist like anyone else.

Same... and still do.

I also wear my watch on my right wrist as well even though I am right handed as well. Hows it going Sckizoboy?
