I like watching fighting games, even if I don't (generally; I do have exceptions) play them.

I like watching some games, ones I specifically hate are FPSes and rhythm games.
Don't care to watch FPSs, but some of the Nightmare charts on PIU are some of my favorite videos to watch on youtube. However, stuff like DJ Max, GH, or Parappa has very little appeal to me.

I only like watching people play really hard shit. If a gameplay vid makes me say "I could do that", I get bored quickly.

I like watching my brother play Left 4 Dead 2, since I love the graphics and the concept but hate FPSs, especially computer FPSs. Other than that I tend to get itchy when someone's playing a game I wanna play. Me my bro and one of his friends, round robined the first runthrough of GoW3 and everytime it wasn't my turn and there was a difficult fight or a QTE I found my fingers twitching like I was trying to play w/o the controller.

I'm always watching my brother play, especially games I can't be bothered to finish myself (like Mass Effect) or games I'm really awful at. I normally help him out while watching, though, since he's painfully unobservant at times.

It's a wonderful way to socialize! For example, my friends and I take turns playing AC2 and seeing how badly we suck at it. I feigned total ignorance and pretended not to know that most of the gameplay involved climbing walls. I walked everywhere, only running when I inevitably got into a fight with a guard.

It's hilarious.

When i'm with my friends they always seem to assume that once i'm playing a game they'll never be able to tear me away from it.
I play games all the time, it's not like i'll miss it xD

I prefer just relaxing and watching a friend play. Problem is they always end up asking me to do everything for them because they don't bother figuring out the hard bits.

Normally, I hate watching other people play games. I always think "Why don't you just go that way?" or something along those lines. So watching it in a video makes it even worse.

I usually don't mind other people playing. Sometimes I really enjoy it, but other times I get really annoyed. Mainly when I have played a game, know the controls and I am forced to endure someone play badly.

I have fun watching other people play, but for some reason all my friends like to watch me play instead. The longest I've watched a person play was probably about 8 hours, I watched a guy start and finish Conker's Bad Fur Day in a single sitting.

I can't watch much without needing to play myself, I'll be a backseat gamer and tell them what to do all the time as well.

When I'm speccing people after I've died in games I'll shout at my screen if people don't see an enemy or something, it's only worse in person.

I find it fun to watch my friends play a split-screen game, because when I'm actually in the game, I can only focus on my own screen and I die a bunch, but when I'm watching, I can see everyone's perspective, and I can heckle all of my friends when they screw up (something I very rarely get to do because I'm so much worse at FPS's than all of them).

Im the only person in my house that plays games (actualy my sister has picked up a few games and played, i dont know weather to be happy or afraid yet) so i got used to playing instead of watching. Whenever i do watch for whatever reason i always go crazy trying to help whoever is playing navigate a puzzle or boss fight and they can never follow simple instructions.

i'm pretty much the same as this

Most of the time I prefer watching someone else play games to playing them. There's something about studying the way they do things and piecing together how to make games better based on how a person plays that's irresistible.

I've NEVER watched anyone play a game, but then ofcourse I don't know any gamers.

My sister used to watch me play Resi2 though. It always scared the shit out of her.

I prefer playing obviously, but I don't mind watching. As someone previously mentioned, I enjoy watching skilled gamers play RTS's, and I especially enjoy watching people play survival horror games.
Watching them play them?
Add a bit of the 'filled-their-pants' to it by scaring them mid-way through by either yelling or grabbing them unexpectedly.

When I was little my brother would not stop playing video games so I never got a chance to play them until I got my own TV and system so until then my entire childhood was watching him play games and I enjoyed it. It's better than the crap they show on TV. Now I love playing games but have no problem letting one of my friends play as I watch them for hours as they don't suck.

With some of the really difficult games I do like fighting games and Battle Toads.

I like to watch people who are good at them play RTS games.

The way they memorize all of those hotkeys just astounds me.
It ends up quite natural, says me, a frequenter of the Warcraft III ladder.

Oddly enough, I don't like watching rhythm games being played. I'd rather shred a few plastic guitars myself than watch others do it. I like watching fighting games though.
