WBC Pickets my High School

I'd tell these guys that they use scripture out of context, but something tells me they wouldn't listen and would come pickett my house (though if they did come to my house and not leave, I suppose I could have them shot/arrested for trespassing).

Seriously. Those people do not know the scripture nor God.
Because if they did, they wouldnt be doing all that crazy stuff they do.
They need a reality check and to get to know God.
That would actually be the only thing that could make them stop all that mindless
hatemongering that they are doing.

Not a chance of them changing thier opinions... yet.

Most of the WBC is actually formed of the Phelps family, and was founded by Fred Phelps who is now 82 years old.

If that old bastard kicks the bucket i theorise that the rest of them will shred eachother in an internal power struggle.

Also, for them, going against the family's views means being disowned. That is how far they go.

I really hope they get what's coming to them. Not death or anything, but they deserve something.

Personally I think the haze of stupidity and confusion they must live in to have these ridiculous beliefs is punishment enough. Some kind of crippling pipe incident wouldn't be remiss, however.

I think I'm going to start a religion that preaches complete tolerance and understanding of everything, and when the Westborough church starts trolling my people we shall turn the Flame War into a Crusade.

I honestly would love it if they came to my highschool. Since for some reason we are very short tempered, at baseball, football, and track games. We usually end up fighting the other team/the fans. Its not even that we're a bad school, ranked in the top 5 highschools, in the county. SO please come to my school. Plus we have some Jewish people that I hear the WBC hates. Also we have a fair amount of kids that are either gay or bi. So come on down, I truly will enjoy it.

Oh, I simply love America.
It has the cutest extremists, if they would had been denied their freedoms they would have been exactly like the revolting arabs in the middle east.
I love it how some dress up christian value as family values, and I love the fact that the supposed world superpower.... erm.... that is supposed to be the most free place on earth, have such a connection to christianity.
But I am also a hypocrite. My country bases itself around a nationality/religion abomination, and I use AD rather frequently (Anno Domini, 'in the year of our lord' in latin).

Exactly. That is what's wrong with them. Also, in my denomination the pastors/ministers change churches after 4 or 5 years so that the pastor would not preach from solely their point of view and thus would not end up like that WBC there. Where they all follow what that old hatemonger has been telling them for years.

We've all known they're crazy, but usually they've had some sort of a reason for their protests, however twisted they may be. This time, however, I don't see one.

I don't actually go to this school (I'm in private school), but if I was in the public school system, this is where I'd be going. The school hasn't done anything as far as I've heard. The worst part is that it's located right next to the main entrance of the Universal Studios theme parks. This could possibly cause a bad reputation for the parks to be spread, putting a dent in our tourism-driven economy. I don't see the rationale behind this. Thoughts?

EDIT: Well, they've apparently got a few other protests coming up in my city, as well as in Florida. They're headed to the Kennedy Space Center (?), and I heard on an anti-WBC site that they're also headed to Bishop Moore High, which is a Catholic school.

They'll be a boon to your economy then people travel across the globe to gawk and carry their god hates figs signs.

I can't see why they are protesting Dr. Phillips HS but they don't like Catholics so I guess that's why they would go to Bishop Moore. This kinda hits home for me because I went to another catholic school in the area back in my high school days. I can even remember playing some of those schools when I was on the golf team. As for the Kennedy space center... God hates space travel? I'm going to college in Orlando right now so I might swing by the anti-protest if I have time.

The Escapist has user groups for those who want to talk with people on certain things (such as Team Fortess 2) more often.

As far as i know you can post up news and your members will recieve the info as a message.

As for founding the group, go to your profile and hit the groups tab, then theres create new group.

As for that name, I think Broad-mindedism would be a good one. Unless you want liberalism.

I'm a pretty mellow person and I live and let be with a lot of things leaving people to their preposterous opinions as long as their not hurting anybody, (which WBC does hurt people just not physically) but what offended me the most about their statement was them telling me what MY moral compass is, and who MY god is. Makes me wanna set up a picket outside their church claiming THEIR moral compass is offending the true pantheon of THEIR pagan gods and dress in some ridiculous costume that would be relevant to praise some extinct ancient deities outside on the street.
