I spent the night at one of my friend's houses just a couple of days ago actually. There was four of us gaming, eating, and having a great time. Albeit, our "bro nights", as you put it, aren't all that manly, as most of the night consists of us playing "gay chicken," a game in which one person makes a homosexual pass at another, who then retaliates, going back and forth until one of the players breaks. It's very stupid, but also surprisingly fun...
You, sir, just gained my respect. Best game ever. Now I seriously want to see that in real life...
Why thank you. It really was a pretty interesting match; every time one of us went to the bathroom, the rest would get into some incredibly suggestive position, and then ask, with a straight face, "What?" when the person returning from the bathroom started laughing/giving a weird look/ etc.

By the way, completely off-topic, but every time I see someone who's on probation, I just can't help but to see why. And let me just say that you, without a doubt, have the absolute most awesome reason for being put on probation. Period.
I totally approve of that game you play with your friends. Totally sounds like something the people I know would do. If someone falls asleep, you should take off your pants (leave your underwear, unless you're REALLY ballsy), and lay beside them, with your face right up to theirs. When they wake up, ask "what'cha doin'"?

Thanks for the words on my probation post. At least 6 people have told me it's amazing. Totally worth it.

My typical bro sesh involves hangin out at a brohome, playin NHL 10 on the bro-station bro, or watchin hockey, and drinkin brewskis. Or goin out with the bros and catchin a bro-flick and eatin at some place that serves Heinies and MDG. We haven't done that in a while but its hella fun. My bros are just too busy with skoozies.
Wow, that was even less understandable than the original post. This "bro" language could be its own distinct dialect. The next logical step would then of course be to exile them to some island somewhere and name it "Australia 2."

I think guy time is a must. I go on "man-dates" with my friend, where you don a suit or jacket, grab some food, have a couple drinks and BS for a couple hours. And of course sitting around [or doing whatever] with a bunch of your bros... good times.

However, the coolest thing of all, was that after a while, we shut off the Xbox, and from 4 am to 8 am, we did nothing but talk about shit. From politics, to careers, to bitches, to sluts, to our childhoods, everything.
I LOVE that! But guys barely ever do that... Your so over active, always have to "do" something instead of just sitting around talking. It's my favorite hobby, talking =3
When guys can talk to each other as men, thats when realtalk happens. Also, its usually about 3 in the morning.

Yes, all the time.
Most of the time it's just me and another one of my guy friends. We rarely all get together in a big group, but when we do it's am awesome time.

Oh my God, that's genius! The best part is that they'd be so tired that their first reaction would be to jump away, not even thinking about the game, and I'd automatically win!

There really needs to be a prize too; it'd make things more interesting.

I think it really started with those late-night Xbox live party sessions during the summer. We'd just talk about anything and everything. We all came to the conclusion that the tiredness lead us to be completely open with just about anything.

Then there are those night during the school year we would go to some fast food place, eat, and over stay over welcome just talking.

Of course there are those pile into someone's house to play some video games or something. My house being relatively popular with SSBM.

Though now we can a good session about anything that worries us over xbox live if need be.

oh and girlfriends cut into this like a ************.

So we were all really bored, and trying to tell stories, and I remembered this time I was putting my cat and he stuck his ass in the air. SO... I said (because I thought it would be funny)

"So this one time I was squeezing my cats ass..." and we were no longer bored.

you... wait... is this the 1990s? Why are you talking like Paulie Shore?

OT: In Jr. High I was known for stopping by Cumbies (first time I've heard someone reference that store online), and we'd totally "scarf on grindage', but not really. I don't think I've ever really done what you described.

Glad you appreciate my idea: be sure to let me know how that turns out! As far as a prize, I've no ideas...

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC STORY RIGHT HERE, IGNORE IT IF YOU WANT TO HEAR ON TOPIC SHIT

Halloween '08, I went out with a few people from school, we crashed at one of their places. I was parked beside a guy and his girlfriend. They thought everyone was asleep, and his girlfriend went down on him. After about 45 seconds, I turned on the light on my watch and said (with a thick Aussie accent) 'CRIKEY! They're performin' their mating ritual!' He laughed himself flaccid, and his girlfriend's head popped up from under the blanket. I said 'OH, CRIKEY, SHE'S PISSED AT ME NOW!' and turned off my light. It took her three minutes to get him hard again, at which point I made slurping noises. She choked on his meat, and he went flaccid again. Three minutes later, I turned on my watch, face an inch away from his, and said "what'cha doin'?" He burst out laughing, she choked on him again, and they finally gave up.

I consider that success.

I'm in a sort of weird spot with this sort of thing. Most of my friends are pretty much dudes these days. That's not to say I don't love painting my nails and wearing pretty things, because I really do, but I do looove late night snack raids, forest explorations, ultimate frisbee, video game marathons, long sessions of MST3K inspired shit talk, and crappy movies. I suppose I just like hanging out with guys more.

See, every girl friend I've ever had and have currently, has drama in varying degrees spewing out their eyeballs every day. I love my female compadres, but god damn, at least with guys I don't feel like I'm being judged and compared so damn much on my clothes or hair or make up or body. I can look nice without feeling like I'm being silently critiqued. And I cannot tell you how many times I've been woken up at two in the morning to console a weepy girl friend on trivial boy problems. Seriously, I have enough stress in my life, I don't need to surround myself with high maintenance people or be their personal 24/7 therapist. Maybe I'm being selfish, but oh well. I guess that comes with being raised by a bunch of simpleton boys.

It'd be really nice to find another laid back girl to hang around with, but for the most part I cannot tolerate a lot of the nonsense that occurs while swimming in an estrogen ocean.

I don't like big groups of people (yes, even if I'm friends with all of them), so my hanging out is usually with one or two people only. However, my main gaming+booze friend is a girl, so I wouldn't call it 'bro time', although she herself has stated she's basically a guy and is totally cool with people calling her "dude".

As for my male friends, none of them are really macho guys since I can't stand those. Don't get me wrong, I thought John Rambo was an awesomely hilarious movie, but the kind of guys who would have a booze-filled 'bro night' are the kind of guys I avoid. When we hang out, it's civil conversation over tea/coffee and women are entirely welcome should they happen upon us or want to join/come along.

I just really don't feel the need to separate hanging out with men from hanging out with women. I guess I'm just not manly enough to understand the appeal.

So I take it many of you were not exactly the sports playing type in high school.

LOTS of deep seated angst in this thread.

Well lately my "Bros" have been dicks and hanging out with girlfriends lately or some douche bag who's the coolest and latest trend guy to be friend with.

SO, i've been having "Sis" nights, if you can call them that. Just me (A man) hangin' out with a few ladies i've met at school. Do I know them aswell as my "Bros"? Nope. Is it just as fun? More so since when my "Bros" aren't with their GFs they're talking about their GFs (Or their latest douche bag friend).

But in all seriousness I like everybody, just get annoyed when "Bros" ditch out on plans for the two i've previously stated.

I occasionally have game nights, and since most of the regualr gang are uys we could potentially call it a 'bros night.' Man last time we were up late, eating meat and potatoes over a game of Arkham Horror. We spent msot of our time lauhing at our horrible fortunes as the nun got thrown out of literally every building she walked into and had her cross confiscated by the police. Ah I love that game so much.

Edit: Mind you guys night has been greatly helped by the fact that all the guys there are either single or their girlfriends live too far away. On the other hand when the girls are around they join in the shenanigans so its not too bad really.

I understand some guys need to do this, personally I have more female friends though and tend to prefer their company. I just get along with them better.

But sure, we all need a bit of time apart with members of our own gender. Women get to eat chocolate, try one each others clothes and watch weepy films, whereas men get drunk, fight and watch Rambo!

What about eating chocolate, trying on women's clothes, THEN getting drunk, fighting and watching Rambo?

If it helps we can try on the clothes in a really manly way, grunting and flexing muscles the whole time. :D

Sorry, I hate the ubiquity of the word 'Bro'. I just...hate it.
I hear you, I'm not condoning its usage, but it was an appropriate description for the subject matter.
It is compounded by the use of 'sesh'. No, I don't really need time to be immersed in manly or girly culture. There are times when I do require movies where stuff blows up real good and there's lots of gunfights, or when I can't stop myself from watching or reading saccarine girls' anime/manga. But that's not really related to my social circle.

I do need time to hang out with my friends and talk about this and that and not be begged for advice that will be disregarded as soon as it leaves my mouth. Mostly I just need me time, time to do me things and erratically move from one activity to another.

At least once a week. Me and my buds' bro nights usually involve violent video games, retarded D&D sessions, screwing around Wal-Mart and then finally buying the most retarded party food we can think of, and then we top it off by surfing /b/ and watching pornos. Then we share our feelings. Makes for a bitchin' Friday!
