I play as an Elite every now and again. The diffrence in body shape and the diffrent hit box can throw some players off, especially in SWAT.

I play as an Elite in the Halo Multiplayer. I think they are awesome, in short. And I have noticed, that I am severely outnumbered. Have other Elite players noticed this?

Also, have you ever been met with prejudice because you play as one?

I would play as an elite if i could go "wort wort wort" but alas...

BTW prepare for random people offering their negative opinion on Halo games despite not being asked for it
hahahahahha this. if i could do the wort wort wort i would def. be an elite too

personally i think they are both cool, i have some what of a feel and love for the spartan tho from reading the books, elites tho are harder to headshot partially, due to their head being in their chest semi from the front view

I'm proud of it.
High five my good man!
But anyway, people ***** about if they get a 'headshot' in your neck region as an Elite and you don't die, you're hacking.
WRONG!
The coders placed an area in the Elite skin neck that is like a coverd hole. Painful thing goes in, painful thing comes out, no damage to hole walls, in this case, walls are the neck of said Elite.

EDIT: Fixed spelling mistakes. Yes, I'm a grammar Nazi to myself.

Hi there. I don't play Halo and I really don't have any intention to. However, I can offer some piece of advice. If you're feeling down about being a somewhat squat-looking alien in an area full of tall color-coordinated powersuits, just pretend you're in Machinima. That's right, you heard me. Do something entirely goofy, wacky, off-the-wall confusing and freak the hell out of the opposition. I've no idea if it helps the Elite cause at all, but YOU'LL be laughing, at least.

Anything the Elites do seem unintentionally hilarious.

They just make me laugh my ass off XD

OT: I play as both Spartan and Elite. Both are fine, and neither has any advantage over the other. Granted Elites are harder to headshot from behing I've found, but thats about it.

I'm not a massive Halo player as I have said, but I am looking foward to Reach. Might just have enough innovation to create a really interesting and challenging multiplayer.

I only used the humans because of the katana. Now that they've taken it away due to new achievements I play as Elite.

Well, when I was writing this, I had the guys from "Spriggs" in mind (that being Soltri, Boltri, and Rotri), singing their 'Napalm Sticks To Little Kids' song. Suffice to say, I really don't know much about Halo at all, aside from what I pick up here and there. So, if you say they're hilarious as is, I'll take your word for it.

Relax my comrades, I am here at last.
Man this was a thread made for a guy like me.

To answer your question, yes indeed I do dislike the degree of prejudice the elites in multiplayer recieve and I also dislike how few of us there are compared to the Spartan populace.
I mean I have a lot of friends who play Halo and all of them play as Spartans. We have splitscreen parties with seven Spartans and I am the one elite and man, do I stand out.
Naturally the bullying starts, partly just to annoy me... in fact in the presence of my other friends I think that's the main reason.

As for Xbox live, well I guess people dislike Elites for the events in the Halo story, I can see why they would not like the Elites based on what they've done to the human race in the past (the only thing the Elites did wrong was not finish the job if you ask me) but that's really no excuse for bullying the people who play as them, or making youtube videos dedicated to mocking them.
Sometimes I think the whole 'I can't headshot elites' is just an excuse on behalf of a crappy shot but hey, that's just me.

I always liked playing as the Elites in multiplayer partly becaue of how awesome their race is, partly because I like being unique and mostly because it just feels right for me personally. It does annoy me that people can't accept that, plus that whole 'killing evil aliens hell yeah humanity' thing really puts me off to a degree and I find it hard to relate to, hence the Elites are the logical choice for me.

Seriously for me, there is no other choice and I have already covered my detailed love for the Elites here:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.183671-The-Sangheili-A-very-special-Vrex-review#5503755

So have a read, and enjoy my mighty Sangheilian brothers, for although the primitive ape things foolishly attempt to mock us, we all know who was standing boldly over the many charred carcasses of the evolutionary mistake that is the human species and it was the proud prince of Sangheilios!!!

P.S To all the people talking about being an Elite in Reach, I have found some info on Bungie.net that is filled with good news for the budding Elite enthusiast which I shall post as well:
http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=25376

General consensus is... the Elites are finally getting proper attention in multiplayer.

Granted I haven't watched the stuff in months, but it was hilarious as all hell when I did.

I find the Elite to be easier to headshot to be honest, especially from the side. I've never understod the 'Oh they are so OP because you can't headshot them' bulshit and even if you can't hit their head use a different tactic for dealing with them like grenades or whatever.

If you want to find a lot of otehr Elite players go play Swat, most people choose Elites for that gametype because they also believe that they are hard to hit.

Where is Vrex360 when you need him?
Anyway, I noticed that not many people play as Elites. People are sometimes... 'nasty' to people who do play as Elites.
They say it is the 'nooby' choice, etc.
If anything, it is harder to play as an Elite... get to be a bigger target...
I no longer play Halo 3. Hell, I don't go on my 360 much anymore...
Good point. I haven't seen him in a while...it's a shame, really. It was nice having an Escapist regular who doesn't have an irrational hate for Halo.

Derp, nvm. Still, I haven't seen a post form Vrex in a while, so this is nice.

The Elites are cool but in Halo 2 they were shorter than Spartans and the custom armor in Halo 3 looks kinda half assed to me, while the Spartans have the better looking armor in my opinion.

I don't like playing as an elite, since generally, less people do, making me stand out much more as a target in firefights. This is a bad thing since I am generally a good player, and playing as an elite just invites the other team to focus fire on me over my teammates.

Also, the harder to headshot thing IS true.

....Are you serious? Prejudice? It is just a video game multiplayer skin....I didn't think prejudice extended to that.

I think that many are called noobs just because it is much harder to headshot them or something like that, I am not sure though.
