In Chaos Space:
Kel'thuzad stood in the throne room of the Necropolis watching as the last Soul Shard was raised and suspended from the ceiling completing the circle surrounding the larger Soul Shard. He looked at the Acolytes who had hurried over and stood awaiting orders once the Shard had been stabilised. "Go and prepare yourselves in the ritual circles located in the Ziggurats. The time of our release is nigh and our freedom shall be upon us soon." The Acolytes bowed and set off towards the entrance of the room to take their designated places, passing Anub'arak who was heading towards Kel'thuzad and the Altar positioned beneath the Soul Shard. The Crypt Lord was carrying Urn and the Lich King smiled at his approach. "I've brought the Artifact that you requested." "Very good. With these remnants of that substance the two dimensional creature assaulted you with we will finally breach the walls of our prison and seek out the world which his presence emanates from and have not only your revenge but also our conquest!" With these words he took the Urn from Anub'arak and placed it upon the altar. He then positioned himself within the circle surrounding it and began chanting Demonic incantations and energies could be visibly seen sparking inside and between the Soul Shards.
The Undead and Nether forces stationed outside suddenly felt tremors running through the ground and began to head for the nearby Ziggurats.
Ireland, country road, presently:
Riley Ardan had had a normal life. He had a wife, kids, a job with a good salary and most importantly happiness. This all ended two years ago. Two years ago the company Riley worked for had suddenly upped and fired him on the sketchy grounds of 'bad business practices' and 'terrible customer-client relations'. Riley had been devastated. That afternoon he gone to the pub he usually frequented and attempted to drown his sorrow in drink. He began imagining the worst possible future due to his recent unemployment when he was suddenly approached by a fellow wearing a strange green overcoat. He told Riley that he had heard his troubles and was willing to help him to secure his future as long as he did him a favour and followed his instructions to a tee. Whether it was the grief, drink, the green of the man's overcoat or a mixture of the three, Riley Ardan accepted the deal and swept off his feet and into the Irish army within days. Throughout the next two years he followed the instructions delivered by the man in green and slowly raised in the ranks and trust of the army with little resistance until he was allowed to take on rather hush-hush tasks. Which is why on this day Riley finds himself driving an inconspicuous van carrying a Nuclear Warhead which was to be delivered to the Naval forces but is headed to a the location described in his benefactor's orders.
Ireland, within a large clearing next to a forest, presently:
Renlen and Asha emerged from a silent, pulsating green portal into the countryside. "For some reason, I have the strange feeling we fit in perfectly here." Renlen says looking at his suit. "Why?" Asha politely asks as she looks around the clearing. "Let's just say I have a hunch." he replies looking at the quiet cat-girl. He paused to ponder what ...TW, as he likes to call himself, must have done to get the girl to act so politely and courteous. Additionally, it strange looking at her and seeing that she was at least 15 years old but chronologically she was born only a few days ago. He shook his head to clear his thoughts before noticing her looking in his direction. "Apparently we're waiting for something to happen according to TW and its to happen soon." he said. "Yes and I'm meant to welcome someone and propose the deal." Asha muttered absentmindly looking away towards the trees. They stood there in this awkwardly silent scene for a few minutes when in the distance a strange hissing noise could be heard. Renlen looked up and above the forest. "Well looks like something is happening." he stated. "Indeed."
In Chaos Space:
Kel'thuzad's spell was in full motion. Anub'arak watched as the Lich King chanted and the Soul Shards overhead spun in a circle and formed bridges of demonic energy stretching from the central shard out to the gems of the Ziggurats creating a network affecting the whole of the Necropolis' fortress. The ground on which the ruins were situated on suddenly started breaking apart to reveal a ghostly surface keeping the buildings stable as it began to form a circle of dirt and rubble with energies running through beneath the structures. Kel'thuzad then made a motion with his hands and a beam of brilliant energy burst forth from the central Soul Shard and struck the Urn on the Altar causing the dirt ringed portal to tear open and revealing and flickering through multiple dimensions. Kel'thuzad then focused the energy and the portal revealed a similar location to that they had previously occupied in the previous dimension albeit with trees present. Kel'thuzad smiled and began to lower the Necropolis and it's conjoined buildings through the portal when he felt a tremor throughout the energies powering his spell and realised with horror that he may not have enough power to transport them through. Rather than give up, the Lich King continued to with his attempt to free the Scourge from their prison no matter the consequence.
Ireland:
Riley took a right turn down a rocky path ad parked the van next to a forest. He had followed the man's instructions to this place and was now waiting for an indication as to what to do next. He saw some movement in the distance and peered through the windscreen to see a man and a woman standing in the middle of the clearing ahead wearing green attire. He immediately assumed them to associates of the green man and proceeded to exit the driver's seat of the van. He began to walk towards the figures and would have reached them if he had not noticed a stump in front of the van with a piece of paper attached to it. He reached down and picked up the sheet and read "By the time you finish reading this, all your problems shall disappear Riley, S U C K E R. Hee." Riley then looked up from the sheet with horror and looked at the van in time to hear a barely audible beep before the Warhead detonated and removed all his worries.
Renlen and Asha saw the van arrive below the slowly splitting sky. They also saw the driver exit it and stand in front of it for 2 minutes. They then saw the driver suddenly turn towards the van. What they didn't see was the split second in which a wall of destruction and heat suddenly begin rushing towards them damning the ground it covered and instantly burning the forest to ash before disappearing as quickly as it had arrived after having been sucked up and absorbed by the open portal overhead. "Well that was strange." murmured Asha as she looked at the now soot stained ground and humming air.
In Chaos Space:
Kel'thuzad was struggling to bring the Necropolis through the portal when he suddenly felt a surge of energy throughout the network that almost broke his concentration. Gritting his skeletal teeth, he brought the fortress through the dimensional portal with renewed vigor and settled it where the forest had been moments before. He collapsed into the throne with exhaustion and took a moment to gather his thoughts and strength. They were free at last. Those words bounced around his skull for a few moments before he smiled a devilish grin. "And soon, revenge."
Renlen and Asha stood in front of the fortress that still crackled with energy, watching as the portal closed with a thunderclap. "Well I suppose we should get this over with." Renlen muttered as he set off with Asha in tow towards the Necropolis.
