OOC: And now for an update on the Reapers.
Beijing was in its death throes, but not about to surrender. The Chinese army had positions all over the city and were putting up a fierce resistance thatonly served to infuriate Galen. He wondered why they would not accept that they were taking unacceptable losses, and surrender themselves to ascension by his masters. As cannibals and marauders poured munitions into the buildings from which the Chinese were taking pot shots, a shell blasted a large cluster of them into oblivion. Looking down the street he saw the Type-99 tank that had fired the shot and snarled before sprinting towards it. The machine gunner took aim at him but as he jumped up onto the tank he slashed the man in the face and threw him out, before ripping open the main hatch with the Force and frying everyone inside with lightning. Jumping to the ground he lifted the massive vehicle into the air then hurled it at an apartment block, killing several snipers in the rooms that the tank crashed into causing them to collapse. He sensed that a MiG jet was about to fly low and drop more ordnance on them. Lifting the ripped off tank hatch, he hurled it into the air, where it collided with the wing of the jet as it flew overhead. The wing sheared off and the aircraft lurched to the side, striking another tall building in a fiery explosion. Galen grinned, then he heard Harbinger's voice.
"This battle must end soon. Our enemy in Rome gathers his power. We must go to eliminate his plans."
"I understand. But not yet! I won't leave while this city resists."
"Then we will assist you in subjugating it quickly." A few minutes later, thunder rumbled and the sky was lit with red electrical discharges, then one of the Reaper destroyers appeared through the clouds. It landed on its four massive, arthropod-like legs and crushed several buildings, then began firing its beam weapon at the Chinese military, who quickly began to scatter in panic. The Reaper dwarfed them and the surrounding buildings, and their artillery and bombs had no effect on its advanced barriers.
