And to think I went to all that trouble for a destructive device mentioned in some moldy tome. As much as it pains me to do so, he has earned far less mercy from me."
<color=darkgreen>"I... I.. I understand. Kidd could have been a better person. Don't worry, I trust you." Winona took a deep breath and materialized her hammers. She and EMily stood tall and strong like statues.... waiting.

"I guess I am stupid. I didn't make sure you were dead." The Kidd retorts to Tanner. He gets an odd feelin' from Misa and starts to inch away from her.

I don't say anything else. No need to. I just keep walking toward Kidd, at a quick but not aggressive pace, rapidly closing the distance between us. I'm hoping he'll strike first, CQC always was a specialty of mine.

EMily and Winona activate their respective forms upon seeing the black aura around Kidd. Eventually they catch up with Tanner. Like him, they are ready to see what happens....

"Is that spirit still bothering everyone?" Jin says looking up from his Sudoku.

The Kidd stares Tanner down. He tightens his grip on his Machete. Now he's feelin' sorry for not waitin' for back-up. A bead'a sweat starts runnin' down his face, his knuckles turn white as he grips the Machete even tighter.

Tophat walked over to AEanna.
"By the way, that was my blood. I heard Regulus speak about it."

Jin gets up and walks towards the group. "Hey, annoying spirit. Do you know how hard it is to finish my Sudoku when you keep causing trouble over here? Why must you keep bothering us?"

OOC: I should point out that Tanner is a very average soldier in just about every way. The only way he's able to pull off a lot of the stuff he does is with the help of his suit and Buddy. The only thing that makes him special is his knowledge of psychology (which is actually quite limited if anyone would want to bring it up in a conversation) and his naturally quick reflexes.

I just keep walking, arms at my sides. I see the aura around him and kind of wish I were in my suit, but I can't give him a chance to escape. We're only a few feet apart now...

"No, I meant what happens to Regulus after you absorb his soul?"

AEanna glanced momentarily at Tophat before returning her gaze to the Kidd and taking up a combat stance.
"Thank you Tophat. I am sorry I was not more grateful earlier, I would not normally be so... indiscriminate about drinking blood, but Regulus really got to me. I just needed the strength to deal with him." She raised her hand and prepared to fire an ice shard through the Kidd's head if she had to, while holding the katana on guard.
