@Wacky I suspect one does not simply open a comms channel with the Reapers. In any case, you should just stick with one of the characters who doesn't summon ridiculously big hordes from nothing. Most of the troops will just be husks, and the main threat will not be affected much by mobs.

Laguna got up as he heard Regulus. "Speak of the devil..." He grabbed his machine gun, and walked over to Tophat.
The cruiser landed, and Galen hopped out, surveying the area. Apart from the arena wrecked ship and surrounding hills, there was little the environment could offer as a threat. He grunted with satisfaction and turned to face the troops.
"Alright then. Follow me! When we reach their lines, I want all riflemen lined up and firing on that wreck! Front line troops will be attacking en masse!"
