"It becomes second nature. Each mag contains 19 rounds, so you only have to do the mag switch and slide pull after every 19 shots. The safety catch has to be set off every time you draw the gun. Watch." James holstered his pistol, then drew it again in a blur of motion, flicking the safety off with his trigger finger before returning it to the trigger in less than a quarter of a second.
"Of course, I can do that a lot faster than even a trained soldier, let alone a civilian, but you'll get the hang of it." He then demonstrated his speed in reloading, dropping the full mag, pulling back the slide to empty the chamber before slamming in a fresh mag and pulling back the slide again. It took just over a second.

Tophat's sudden message startled Erica, she yelped and fired the pistol by accident, barely missing her foot.

Asha held up a finger to Gerry, signalling him to be quiet. She slowly crept over behind the bird, her tail started to wag as she prepared to pounce. Erica firing her gun caused the bird to fly off. "Dammit! I was gonna eat that!" She shouted.

"Whoa! Be careful!" James shouted when Erica fired the gun. "Now you see why the safety catch is important. You also have to keep your finger off the trigger when you aren't ready to fire, and never point the gun at anything that you aren't willing to shoot." After her remark about the speed of his handling, James chuckled and demonstrated again, step by step. Then he raised the gun.
"Now that you know the fundamental rules, lets try shooting. Hold the gun up and look down the sights. Keep a firm hold on the gun, but not so tight that your hands will shake. Then squeeze the trigger, don't pull it.In other words, make sure that when you move the trigger, you're braing the back of the gun with your palm. Place your free hand under the but, like so. That'll give it more stability. Keep your back straight, left shoulder forward, legs apart, as I'm doing."

Gerry gave a broad smile as he watched Asha. He suddenly realized how much he had missed being with her. He ran over and tackled her to the ground, hugging her and rubbing his face against her chest.
OOC: This is a little awkward...I want Four to talk about what Grace said while she was sleeping...but I can't have Grace talk about it...so...
