After her remark about the speed of his handling, James chuckled and demonstrated again, step by step. Then he raised the gun.

Then squeeze the trigger, don't pull it.In other words, make sure that when you move the trigger, you're braing the back of the gun with your palm. Place your free hand under the but, like so.
