@Rosh: Well, Drak mentioned you lacked motivation. Kidnapping Four was motivation. The torture was to provide a reason for Shadow to start questioning Hazama and possibly betray him.
@Salt: Yeah. I'm not going to kill a character without knowing if the player is okay with it, but this time I'm considering taking you and Rosh's multiple-endings up to eleven. Instead of planning out a death, I'm just going to say 'hey, if you enter this fight and fuck up too much, your character might die' in big fuck-off letters. Entering the fight is you saying 'I'm okay with this', simply because I don't like the idea of pitting my boss fight characters against, say, Gerry or Four and having Four survive killing blows because it wasn't okayed by the player. It just makes them invincible for no reason.
