"You know I can hear you right? We are connected to by the True Wind Rune." Luc said. "Anyway. Obviously you aren't." He said before adding. "So you know Jowy? How is that traitor and hypocrite? Is he still betraying his best friend? Or someone else, now?"

A quick foreword.
Highland: A nation to the North of the Jowstone City-States. It was a powerful and large nation with connections to another powerful nation, the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. Riou and Jowy were actually raised here. No idea if they were born here (for various reasons)
Jowstone: A collection of City-States that are more or less independent, but still allied. Lies to the South of Highland and the North of the Toran Republic. Pretty similar to the European Union in practice. Allied nations, but lacking a real powerful centralized government. Riou later fought to protect it.
Kyaro: A border town between Highland and Jowstone. Officially Highland territory, at this time. Riou was raised here by Genkaku with Nanami. Jowy lived here with his mother and step father.
Agares Blight: King of Highland, and an actually quite noble man.
Luca Blight: Prince of Highland.
Sara Blight: Queen of Highland.
Darel: Mayor of Muse, official capital of Jowstone. He's actually a very terrible person and incompetent leader. Prone to jealousy and rather conniving. He betrayed Riou's adoptive father, Genkaku.
Han Cunningham: A loyal General in the Highland Army and a good friend to Genkaku. He once bore the Black Sword Rune.
And now, Luca's history:
The Blight family entourage was attacked by ruffians while marching close to the Jowstone border. It was said these ruffians were mere bandits, but due to their equipment and training, it was later found out that this was a plot planned by Darel. Agares Blight escaped safely, but Queen Sara and Prince Luca were taken hostage. Sara was violated by the ruffians during captivity and in the presence of Luca, engraving great hatred towards Jowstone within Luca's mind. Later on, Han Cunningham led a squad and defeated the ruffians, freeing Luca and Sara. Sara lost her sanity as a result of this incident and was sent to Kyaro to rest.
Bitter from being captured by Jowstone ruffians, and to search for his mother, Prince Luca Blight set out on a journey. He came close to Kyaro and was tricked out of his money by some bandits. After realizing he had been tricked, Luca followed the bandits and overheard conversations involving a raid on the Highland royalty and lewd comments about his mother. Luca realized who they were and went on a rampage, killing all the ruffians. He then visited his mother but she did not recognize him. Broken, Luca set home.
Sara, later gave birth to a girl. She died in childbirth. That girl was named Jillia Blight. Luca actually seemed to care for his sister, one of the few people he ever did. And, yeah, just think about this, for a second.
And don't even get me started on the whole Highland/Jowstone War that precluded this. And actually is a major factor in why this all happened.

"Oh." Asha simply said. She examined the drawing a little longer and added, "Well I'm sorry that I never got to meet her then."

"Yeah, but your's is sharper and I can't really use my claws. I just need it for a second. And I shouldn't be putting this off. Theoretically, we could get called into action at any moment." Shannon said to Sniper, starting to sound impatient.

@Outis: It's not like that. Any kills are going to be based mostly on endurance (physical, mental and magical in some cases) and characters doing stupid things.
For example, attacking Gamma (who is 7'6 and built like a tank, almost literally) head-on is a sure-fire way to lose bone usage for most characters.
Basically, I won't be killing people because you didn't do what I wanted. I'll be doing it because you fucked yourself over.

"Did you know that I fought alongside Riou? I was one of his generals and allies. Jowy betrayed him to join Highland. He even assassinated Annabelle, the Mayor of Muse. He also was instrumental in killing King Agares Blight to allow Luca to ascend to the throne of Highland and then later he helped us to kill Luca Blight by providing critical information. He then proposed peace, but tried to strong-arm Riou into unconditional surrender."
He paused before continuing. "I suppose, he wasn't all bad, though. He allowed Riou to escape plenty of times during the war. Even allowing him to do so with pivotal leaders in the war effort. And I heard he kept the Beast Rune sealed during the war at the cost of his own life force."
OoC: @Nail Like I said. He has one of the worst villain back-stories I've ever seen. I feel bad for him, but he really is a monster. It's just easy to understand why.

"You what? ...He did all those things, and still Riou acts like they're best mates?" Erica asked, almost shocked. "Why is that recently when I take a liking to someone, they turn out to be a murderer of some sorts..." She wondered aloud, knowing that trying to keep her thoughts private would be pointless.
"[sub]...Everyone says we will get her back though...eventually. I can introduce you when we do.[/sub]" Gerry said to Asha, perking up slightly.

Well, that will radically change the way people will have to fight. Think of @wacky playing Heavy. If he does not have Medic around for whatever reason, he would have to make him act very out of character in order for him to survive. I also can see problems when you consider that you will be actively trying to kill our characters...which means they will probably end up dying. Because you can't dodge everything that gets thrown at you. I just don't think trying to make fights more realistic like this is very practical.TrilbyWill said:

@Outis: That's the point. Fights tend to boil down to '*attack*!' '*reaction shot*. *ATTACK BACK*!' I want to have people think tactically.
And I honestly think every fight feels scripted. The villains never seem to win unless it's pre-planned, and it is just a back-and-forth. Here, whether or not a character dies will always be unplanned.
Also... the villains are ALWAYS trying to actively kill the characters. The difference here is that they're allowed too.

Erica this on Luc's words for a while, then shrugged. "Hmm... Well, I really don't know the first thing about politics and the like, so I suppose I shouldn't form too strong a oppinion on this." Erica said as she rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"Another thing. This Luca fellow. Do you know if he has any weaknessess?

I agree with you in regard to Trilby's idea though. What's stopping a character from simply shooting everybody in the head afterall.

"Well, there's was this time I was fighting, a few months ago I think it was. Anyway, I wound up getting burned over pretty much all of my body, it was extremely painful....But I wouldn't let myself stop. Even after everyone started trying to get me to safety, I started literally dragging myself into the fight. Only reason I'm still alive really is because the enemy left before finishing me off." Rose said to Riou.

"Also true, but I don't exactly want these guys knowing about what I am. Who knows what they'd do if they found out? I'd rather not take that risk." She handed Sniper's knife back to him and added, "And my knife is sharp enough for what it has to do. It's just such a pain in the ass to sharpen it."
