"I am giving it a chance, by not shooting it unless it attacks." James replied to Erica, taking another look around at the foliage. "What exactly are you expecting from it anyway?"
"Oh sorry. I'm a friend. Daniel is my name." He said caught off guard by Riou. Sometimes he felt he passed under notice too well.
"It is a rather nice looking lake, do you not agree?" Grace asked Makoto as she stood next to the edge of the lake.
Daniel returned the smile. The buckle of his sword began to dig into his shoulder so he adjusted it before glancing at James, wincing slightly. "Always remember, the Dragon could be more scared than you."
James lowered his rifle to waist height and stared at Erica in disbelief.
"You want to try and train it, like an attack dog? Are you serious?"

"It does look nice, but then again, I can't really judge. Heirachal cities are on the sides of mounatins, so we don't really get anything like this."
"While I can speak from experience that dragons can be useful allies, this one is questionable. It doesn't seem to have a rider, and in my experience, wild dragons can be quite dangerous. They're little more than a wild beast. At best, they stay away from settlements. At worst they can devastate them by attacking the people and devouring livestock. This shouldn't be something we take lightly." Riou said to Erica.
"That is unfortunate." Grace said as she looked out over the water. She glanced up at the relentless sun. "My it is oppressively hot in this country." she commented, wiping some sweat from her brow.
"I don't really feel the heat, but then again, I'm not wearing anything heavy. Or that much at all, come to think of it. Maybe try splashing your face or taking a swim, cool yourself off?"
Hearing Daniel speak, James turned to him.
"I highly doubt that! Its a giant fire breathing lizard!" He shook his head in resignation at hearing Erica refer to the dragon as a fellow fighter.
"This is crazy. We know absolutely nothing about that thing other than the fact that its a large predator, and now you're talking about... I don't know. Do what you want. If you succeed, hell, I'll believe anything after that. If not, well, I hope we can hurt it enough to stop it from eating you alive." With that he slung his rifle over his shoulder and began to walk away.

Daniel blinked at the talk of training. He didn't like the idea of being saddled and ridden like a horse and he had been called to violence against his will once too many for his liking. He shuffled awkwardly. "Who knows." He muttered. "Perhaps it doesn't want to fight at all."
"Unlikely. Dragons are far from stupid in my experience, but they are still prone to fighting for food, land, and self defense. Not unlike humans, really. And didn't it attack once already? That seems to disprove that theory." Riou responded.
