As Derpy touched the rock, it retracted into the ground. Another wall blocked off the path behind the group again, the more organic-ish matter covered the anthill-like structure.
From a wall left to the group, a literal giant burst forth. The giant hunched over as thick chains bound its arms to its ankles.
It snarled, then made a jab at Derpy's throat with suprising speed.

Good job, you triggered a battle.
Group 1, go.

Winter sighs, and fires her machine pistol at the Giant, Amy fires her sniper rifle and Austin fires his assault rifle: all charged with their elemental powers.

 

[Saltyk]

Riou raises his left hand. "Thunder Runner!" A bolt of lightning runs along the ground until it hits the giant.

Jowy raises his right hand. "Flash Judgement!" A sword of black energy forms and shots out towards the giant.

OoC: Same groups as before? K then, still godmodding Grace and Gerry, so here we go.

Grace backed off from the giant, firing several barrier spikes at it, aiming for the head. Gerry began firing spirit bolts at it.

ooc: @Rosh I've played FF6 recently, I know what is supposed to happen, I'm just trying to help it along.

OoC: @Sable Yeah, I don't know about you guys but I would prefer to trigger as few random encounters as possible.

ooc: Looking back at the description, I realized I just did the wrong thing. The odd rocks were chests (The giant was a monster-in-a-box), and the anthills were teleport pads. I didn't read it close enough at first. Oops

Four was startled and hopped back as she re-engaged her IS when the Giant showed up. She fired at its chest with her rifle, pelting it with a beam of energy.

OoC: I personally would like to just get Kefka as quick as possible.
but then again I'm only saying that because I have to come off earlier then usual tonight.

OoC @Sable: Then I'll just move this along.

Winter's Amy's and Austin's shots all hit the giant in the chest. The bullet holes from Winter instantly froze over while blisters appeared around the wound inflicted by Amy as the electricity burned its flesh.

The giant momentarily lost its balance as it first was shocked by Riou's Thunder Runner and then was struck in the back by Jowy's Flash Judgement.

The giant screamed when Grace's barrier spike tore through its jaw.

Four's hit the giant in the wrist, and broke the chain by doing so.

Taking the chain, it stood up and swiped at everyone in the group with it.

Group 2, go.

Valentine jumped back to avoid the chain, then fired 2 fireballs at the Giant.

Noel jumped up, pulled out her Bolverks and unleashed some bullets using her 'Optic Barrel' ability.

 

[Sablestick]

Derpy immediately flew straight up as a 'fight or flight' response, but then realized the giant was an enemy, and flew up to his face and kicked him in the eye

Makoto saw the giant metal links swiping along the ground. She jumped over the chain, just barely, then ran at the giant. She charged a punch, then hit it in the leg.

 

[Slenn]

Winona shot her neutron beam at the giant's center of mass.

Gwen grabbed the end of the chain with a gravity tug and whipped it back at the giant's chest, preventing it from colliding with anyone that came near her.

EMily fired 3 lightning bolts at the giant's chest as well.

Sara stood by to prepare a fusion beam attack in the next round.

Reimu stood by to prepare a spell card.

Heavy spins up his minigun and lets loose a volley of bullets

 

[Kirke]

Maris fired a shotgun shell at the Giant before getting hit by the chain. She was thrown to the ground.

 

[Chungus]

The giant was hit by the fireballs and grittet its teeth against the pain as much as possible with the many of the muscles in its jaw torn. It tore off its tanktop when it was set ablaze by Valentine's fireballs.
Noel stunned the giant as she hit it in the head, but the bullet didn't have enough stopping power to penetrate its thick skull completely.

While it was stunned, it was kocked over by Derpy and Makoto's hits.

Winona's beam partially missed the giant as it fell down, only scorching the flesh near its collar bone.
The chain that was trown back flew over the giant.
It spasmed when EMily hit it with her lightning bolts.

Heavy's bullets tore though some of the giant's vital organs as he hit the it in the side.

The shot from Maris dealt the killing blow.
The body of the giant faded, leaving a dagger behind for some reason.

The matter that had covered the anthill retracted.

 

[Kirke]

Maris got up and carefully walked towards the dagger.
"That could be a boobytrap."
