OOC: @Gear Dragon Age probably isn't your style of game but putting the effort into it pays off. Characters don't just open up to you at specific points (Dragon Age technically had loyalty quests before Mass Effect since after you hit 90% approval with a character you go out on a special quest for them) The characters you have mentioned are great, deep characters but Dragon Age characters wins for me. Alistair, the sarcastic, Ricky Gervais-ish Grey Warden who was raised and trained as a Templar for so many reasons and plottings that I won't go into it, Sten, the giant Quanari, a philosophy of uncomprimising logic, who constantly answers questions bluntly and unexpectadly with a simple 'Yes' or 'No'. The characters contrast and bounce off eachother so well, its a shame they screwed up so much with the characters in Dragon Age 2. Then things started getting cliched and annoying.
