OoC: @Gear Yeah, I can honestly say I didn't think @Zeph had it in him. I never expected Joe to die. Of all the people, Joe always seemed indestructible.

"Fate is dismissive of free will. Was Dromaeus sent back of free will, or did he not have a choice?"

"He had a choice. In fact, I think the idea was his in the first place. He implied as much ayway."

OOC: Yeah, Zeph always called Joe 'the guy who can never die' and I never questioned that. He always seemed like the one character who couldn't be touched, due to his innocence and his comic nature. I guess with all the tragic moments he had, all the friends that died, that protection was slowly stripped away.

Ooc: I'm of the opinion that retconning or reversing a death undermines the death. If you could just use a Phoenix Down to revive Aeris, what impact would that have had on the story? If Major Hughes was revived through alchemy, why would his death have been important? If you could simply wave your hand and bring back Bruce Wayne's parents, why would he be Batman?

That's one thing I dislike about Super Hero deaths. They never stick. He'll just be back in a week.

If Joe died, let him Rest in Peace. As much as it sucks. Just let him be.

OOC: @Saltyk I believe exactly the same thing. That's also why when a character is on the way out, you have to give them as glorious, tragic or brutal a sendoff as you can. That's how you make their memory stick.

OoC: @Random: Agreed. That's why Joe's death is so poignant. Notice that it bothers, not just our characters, but also us. People don't want him to die. Because he was important and special. And his death was so unexpected. It was a good death. I won't say that @Zeph can't bring him back if it serves his plot, but we shouldn't demean it by just bringing him back because we don't want him to die.
And leaving in less than an hour...

Heavy sits outside the ship, waiting. He knew they would come for him, he knew his time was up.

OOC: Ugh, and now I'm being sent across the city to do some work. Completely without warning of course. I'll be back later.

OOC: Morning campers, I really enjoyed the ending to @Zephs plot, mainly due to @Outis reaction. RPing at its finest when something just goes wrong or you genuinely misunderstood something in character. I would have blown a fuse if you had retconned it. It was sheer creative genius and I wish I could achieve a similar impact with what I write; the understanding that sometimes things don't go your way or how brutal the unexpected can be. We need more plots like that, where characters can never be fully sure of their actions, where decisions have consequences and weight, where you have to think about what your character will do or it will kill or destroy something. This is just the thing we need to remove the viel of invincibility on the heroes.
OOC: This is my opinion on the dning from earlier.

OOC:
This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win, and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high-five you yesterday, my friend. Peace.

@Ven: I was wondering what you'd think. Now you have nothing to hate Joe about since he can actually die. Also thanks for the wonderful complement!

So as for Gear's idea to bring Joe back, a very huge problem is that Joe was only a mind, held together by a miracle that allowed his logic and more computer stuff to allow him to exist without actual hardware to hold him. Most of his personality was mirrored from Mark himself hence why he was such a believable person because he was technically human by that sense.

An AI program that borrowed an extreme amount of personality from the soul that was used to hold him together. He/It was the original that divided itself into the brain and the test subject. Joe still had access to some changes to his programming and such(Why he had his powers, all of which were just an extension of himself, hence why he could make icecream swords for example)

What actually managed to hold Joe together, having very little of the personality of Mark's soul it took the main roll as a lawful neutral judge type. It would only help in certain situations where it felt a need to, Lambda, or where Joe himself was in danger. It knew about what had happened with Gamma and the backstory of this whole thing, why it left for that long period of time in WAOA2, and had absolute full control over Joe's powers to create portals, weapons and whatnot. If it failed to maintain Joe's equilibrium then we go to the red mist/flames.

What happened when Joe's energy levels dipped into a range that without extreme action would kill him. The mist essentially increased Joe's energy collection to extreme amounts, which allowed him to get back into a energy level that his body could sustain himself. When Shani attacked that second time, she pushed Joe so far to near death that his soul actually got exposed. (Why the red mist turned purple at the end) and with his body in such a state the lock that was set to Joe's universe was broken.

Not technically a universe as it was a program stached in his mind.

Different personalities and such that would be able to do things that Joe couldn't, simply based on a different personality or skill types. Technically Omega Joe may have moved on to be the embodiment to Joe's Brain in the later threads.

I'll start remembering all the different times Joe had hints of not being a stickman soon.

OOC: @Zeph No worries, it came out of nowhere which was the best and made characters regret their decisions which is effing poetry to be honest. People felt bad and thats good.
