Don't take this the wrong way, but fuck you. Fuck you and all this low self esteem bullshit you have. You don't know what character to pick? Fine. You feeling indecisive? Fine. Stop acting like your presence on this RP is an insult to the rest of us, because that's ridiculous and not true at all.
You don't think there is any reason to stay on the thread? What reason do any of us have to stay on the thread? We, as far as I know, are doing this for fun. If you are not having fun anymore, that's a perfectly understandable reason to leave, but maybe you'd start enjoying yourself a bit more if you weren't spending your time agonizing over questions like "Which character should I play" and "What impact will they have" and "Can I play them well". Do you think anyone of us is going to be mad or insulted or annoyed by your characters not playing a big role? Or if your characters don't live up to your own standards? No. We enjoy your work, and we always have.
I don't know why I bring that up, considering you have shown you don't care what any of us think. Like I've said, you have made it clear that the only persons opinions you seem to care about are your own. I guess we must seem like real idiots at this point after saying how much we like the trash you wright.
But let's get away from that. I really don't know why I'm writing this, but I might as well just keep going. I like to pretend that I understand people, but I really don't, which makes sense since I'm just a dumb high schooler. I'm gonna say this: Get over yourself. This is not the next great American novel we are writing here. And more importantly, this is a collaborative effort. You feel like you have nothing to contribute, and everyone disagrees with you, and you don't care. Because you are right and we are all wrong, right?
Lets talk about what it means to contribute. You know by now, I am sure, that my first character was William T. Sherman back in the first WAOA. You want to know what I did with him? Hardly anything. I had him fight when he could, talk to people when he could, and basically just follow the important people around. The biggest role he ever played was when I put him in charge of a small group of soldiers in New York. You want to know what I got accomplished with that? Nothing. You know how important Will was to any plot we ever did? Not at all. He could have never been there and almost nothing would have changed except Joe would have had one less friend. And despite all that people loved him. To this day I don't fully understand why, but I don't drive myself crazy thinking about it either. I take the compliments people give me when they are talking about him.
What you don't seem to realize is that is your own definitions of "contribute" are pretty damn different than mine at least. You are here, you post stuff, people pay attention to it and respond. How is that not contributing? If that's not good enough for you, or you feel like you want to do more but can't, fine. Pull your hair out over it or just quit the thread. I don't want you to, because I think you are doing it for all the wrong reasons, but who cares what I think. I'm just as much a hack as you are in a lot of ways.
