In a similar way to the way me and AEanna removed that curse. I see no trace of it fusing itself to your soul, and if it did, it would die when you died. Which we know it wouldn't. Therefore, it must be latching on to your soul. If I for example, shut down your soul completly, it might be tricked into think that you're dead.
