Jacques reached the top of the path up the cliff, only to see the the last of the grenadiers staggering around screaming and completely ablaze.
"Oh, merde!" He snapped, before wheeling his horse around again to go back down the cliff, watching the flight path of the parachutists. This time Couleuvrine made it down much faster, kicking up a cloud of dust as he skidded to the bottom of the slope. Jacques dug his heels in and he galloped toward the landing site.
