"Ah, hello again, Scout. Where did you run off to?" He stopped himself.
"Eh, none of my business, I am sure. Well, I had told you about the fight with un homme metallique, and was about to ask if ou could demonstrate the functioning of that gun you gave me." He flashed his roguish grin.
"If I cannot match you for speed, then perhaps it would do little harm to learn to use your amazing weapons."
OOC: @Nailik Realistically, yeah, probably. I'm trying to tone it down to the point where he only gets riled up by something that actually looks like a demon, or people who are spouting blasphemy openly.

Karl gave the book a quick tap with the chair that Twilight had offered him before, not wanting to touch the book that seemed to be magical right off the bat. If nothing happened he'd slip the book into one of his pockets and find a secluded place to read it.
