Jacques stepped back out of the cloud of gunsmoke to see the robot crashing to the ground, blinking to clear his eyes. Automatically he began the cumbersome process of reloading the charge and shot in his pistol he turned back to Bane and Terra, noting the presence of Varger and some German stranger as well.
"What in Heaven's name was that about?"
OOC: @Ven Ah, cool. I wondered about that when Spudevil brought in that Marine and he accused the group of using heretical weapons. I had also wondered about the techpriests in the past. So essentially they don't really know what they're doing, just working off whatever tech they can find that still works.

OOC: @Berk Yep. There is tech in use in the Imperium such as Astronomic Arrays that they've simply forgot how to make so every one lost is a blow the Imperium never recovers from. Eldar always view Imperium Plasma technology as a demonstration of the stupidity of that race to create a weapon that can maim and kill the wielder as often as the target. Eldar Starcannons fire shots at the heat of a sun but remain cool to the touch whereas Imperial Plasma Guns can overheat and burn the user.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Jacques said, watching the German aim a weapon at him with a glare.
"Weak." Varger mumbled, crushing the arm he held, sending metal everywhere and the robot fell to the floor. He then dropped the arm from his grip and the black scaled hand returned into the folds of his rags.
Phantom strolled out from one of the side roads he had been exploring most of the morning and went toward the group
When the beam struck Jacques he was amazed by the power that rushed through his body. It flooded his limbss with strength and vitality. The sensation was familiar to him, and his eyes widened. When the beam ended, he stood with his mouth hanging open for a few moments, then he fixed his intense gaze on the German.
"What was that device? That power that you gave me... how did you harness it?" He demanded.

Varger wheeled around, angry he had lost sight of his target. He had still not fully got used to thinking clearly. He had been used to impulse and violence but now...he could...rationalise.
A chill ran up Terra's spine when she heard Medic shout about science so vehemently. She moved her hand away from the hilt of her sword and turned to Varger, curious as to how, what she still believed to be a ghost, was still capable to interact with the coporeal.
Jacques continued to stare at the German in shock.
"Invincible?" He asked slowly. "Immortal, even? How can this be? Such a power should be the providence of God, his to give or take away at will!" When the Medic fired the gun again Jacques felt the electrical discharge running through him once more, but this time it felt less momentous.

"Immortality and invincible aren't the same thing." Varger mumbled. He looked at Terra. He flexed his arm beneath his arm beneath his rag. "Half in half out." He stated simply.
OOC: This is actually quite funny. No one seems to have picked up on the clues that I dropped over the last few days.
Jacques stood in the beam for a few more seconds. Where his entire body had visibly tensed to breaking point during the healing, he simply stood at ease in this one. Finally he waved his hands from side to side in a chopping motion, signalling for the German to stop the beam.
