We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

EMily groaned and shrugged. "At least I tried. But we still need to hit that heart somehow." Instead of attacking, she moved to a better position to see if she could take aim on Armstrong's chest.

Gwen held Armstrong with a gravity well to hold him in place.

Samus jumped and raised her weapon instinctively as the man landed next to her, and immediately regretted it, jostling something broken inside her and groaning in pain.

Armstrong roared to the sky, then slammed the ground repeatedly, sending wave after wave of fire pillars towards and around Joel, trying to burn him to ashes before he could get close.

A weight fell onto Armstrongs shoulders and the senator would see a pair of legs drop into his periferal vision. "Ready for round two ace?" The man asks, before plunging his tantos towards Armstrong's eyes.

Roland held his fire as the bullets seemed to have no effect, and instead circled behind Armstrong while he was focused on Joel. Roland quickly holstered his gun and began spinning a bullet across his fingertips. [color=01A9DB]"Enough tricks! Face me, Armstrong!"[/color] He taunted, holding his hand out so that Armstrong would see the spinning bullet if he turned to face Roland.

Gwen kept her focus on reversing the gravity around the flames to redirect them safely into the ground.

EMily moved in closer to Gwen and Joel's position.

Thanks to Gwen redirecting the flames, Joel was able to safely move around. He took advantage of Armstrong likely being distracted by the formerly-dead man landing on his shoulders to rush in and perform another vertical slash at the senator's chest again. [color=003399]"If I cut him open again, someone try and hit his insides!"[/color] Joel yelled.

Armstrong didn't face Roland, a bit busy with the man trying to stab him in the eyes. He grabbed the tanto before they hit anything and threw the man off, but this left him open to Joel. His slash crossed over the center of his scars, cutting a thin gash open. Something beating and white was visible just underneath, but the wound wasn't big enough to see it clearly, and it was starting to heal already.

Joel brought the blade down again, hoping to open the wound up a little more, and thus give someone else an opportunity to attack the white thing.

The man spun in the air and launched right back at Armstrong as he landed. For the second time in as many minutes he found his hand, this time his right, inside Armstrong. The servo's in his robotic limb locked in place around the Senator's heart and the man smiled. "I bet'cha wondering how I managed to cheat my death eh?" He says as he attempts to pull the beating organ from Armstrong's chest.

Joel opened the wound further with repeated slashes, exposing his heart. It was huge, white and covered in glowing hexagons, pumping nanomachines through his enhanced body. It was exposed enough for the man to reach in and grab it, making Armstrong go limp and cough blood, barely standing. He glared at the man. "I think I already know. Nanomachines can work wonders." he said wryly, aware of his imminent death but seemingly at peace with it. He put a hand on the man's shoulder. "You've got me. You've ensured the status quo will go on. War will continue as an institution. But at least I passed my ideals along and left some worthy successors..." He seemed free of regret.

Joel sheathed the Murasama and waited to hear exactly how the man had recovered from deadness and simultaneously teleported on top of Armstrong.

 

[Knife-28]

The man smiled wider at Armstrong's answer and nodded. With that his robotic hand started to squeeze tighter than any normal fist.

Armstrong's heart was crushed like a popped balloon, exploding and sending nanomachine laced blood everywhere. Armstrong made one final groan, then fell backwards with a heavy thud, the crumpled remains of the heart still in the man's hand and connected to the body by long organic looking wires, the light gone from his eyes.

Armstrong, and Desperado and World Marshall along with him, was dead.

Gwen flinched as the heart was crushed. Her eyes made a half lid expression as blood got on her outfit. <color=purple>"Phew. Thank god that's over."

EMily made an exhausted sigh of relief. "Jeez that was tedious."

Seras stood up and dusted herself off. She decided to go find a sheath for the sword she had acquired.

 

[Knife-28]

The man dropped the heart and shook his hand, trying in vain to remove some of the blood. "Fucker ruined my good jacket." He turned and ran his gaze across the group, as if taking them in for the first time. "Oh, right." He says, straightening slightly as he clears his throat, "G'day. I'm Knife 28 and I gotta ask...who the fuck are most of you?"

Roland put the bullet away as Armstrong fell and turned to face Knife. [color=01A9DB]"I am Roland Deschain, of Gilead. Thankee for your help in the fight, sai."[/color]

[color=003399]"I'm Joel. Uh... how did you get from over there, to over here?"[/color] Joel asked, pointing from where Knife's corpse had landed to where Knife was now.

 

[Slenn]

"I'm EMily." She nodded.

<color=purple>"I'm Gwen. Nice to meet you." She said, removing the blood in her clothing with her abilities in Graviton form before cooling down to ground state along with EMily. The blood appeared to be sapped out of her clothing, held in mid-air for a moment and then fell to the ground.

You are startled to say the least when a body comes flying over your cover. However, once you look up over the cover and see the same man alive and well, confusion takes over. After Armstrong is defeated, you offer Samus help in getting up and walking to get over to the others.
