We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

Samus took a deep breath. "When I was in there, the place looked like somewhere I had been before. And I wasn't alone. When Seras arrived, she brought along this creature that called itself Teddie, who helped us escape. And... There was this thing, a copy of me. Teddie called it a Shadow I think. It said some things, things that I had never told anyone else. It wasn't just a copy of me, it WAS me. It got mad, I blacked out, and when I woke up Seras had defeated it."

 

[Demonjazz]

"Meh. Was probably an illusion, I'd be guessing."

 

[Slenn]

"It sounds like a personification of your bad side."

<color=green>"But will there be an end to the TV abductions?"

 

[Drakmorg]

With Hans having agreed to keep quiet, Vicky laid back down and closed her eyes. When Gwen came in to check on her, she would find that Vicky wasn't in great condition. On top of looking just as miserable as she had before, she now looked pale, worn-out, and her face and hair had bits of filth clinging to them.

"It was more than that, trust me." Samus told Eric. "Like I said, it knew things I hadn't told anyone else. It tried to use them to break me, and... Honestly it would have succeeded if Seras hadn't arrived." Samus looked troubled. "Teddie said it was spawned from me, from my mind, and the only way to make it stop was to accept it as a part of me." She looked at Emily and Winona. "I do not know if it was evil. It seemed more angry at me personally than villainous. It even wanted to protect Seras, for a time at least. And I do not know about these abductions."

 

[Demonjazz]

"Probably just read your mind. My guess is some villian guy read your mind and created something to break you for his entertainment."

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>We'll need fighters like her if we want to proceed. And Gwen exited from the vicinity of Vicky. And although she didn't look it, she was happy that Vicky was back.

"It looks as though we'll have to wait and see. We've acquired a TV from before, and we're going to see what happens at midnight tonight." She gestured to the TV in the hallway.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"That may be possible, but I did what Teddie suggested I accepted it, realised it was saying a few good points, and it stopped attacking. I think it will even start helping me." Samus told Eric with a small smile, then turned to Emily. "I volunteer."

 

[Zepherus14]

"Weird...." Sophia managed to say, feeling like she'd somehow lost something in the loop. Maybe it was her not quite knowing what had been show on the tv initially. "I'm just glad you're safe now, that's what matters." She said with a smile and a nod.

"I'd like to see what this whole mess with the midnight channel is too, but first I want to see how Victoria's doing." Sophia added, sounding a little bit guilty. "Excuse me." She said as she slowly walked off to go see her, following the smell of Victoria as she went before figuring she was back in the laundry room.

 

[Demonjazz]

"Yeah whatever. Metaphysical journey and all that stuff the hippies say." He turned to Emily and made a shrug "I got nothing better to do."

 

[Drakmorg]

Samus smiled at Sophia as she left, then left the cargo hold too, going through her purchases.

'She got all dirty again...' Sophia thought as she looked in, feeling conflicted. 'She'd probably feel better if she got cleaned up, but I don't want to wake her either...'

She then slowly closed the door as to not disturb her, then glanced over as she realized Gwen was standing there too. "Oh, hey." She whispered in a hushed tone, not wanting to wake up Victoria if she could help it. "You went to check on Victoria too?" Pausing for a moment as she thought. "After she gets some time to rest you think we could maybe cook her up something, and maybe get a bath or something for her? I'd think she'd like that right?"

"Maybe I should go find Roland and ask him what happened." Sophia suggested, waiting for a moment to see if Gwen had anything to add.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"EMily has tasked Caius with making a buffet dinner for everyone. But I suppose that won't stop us from serving her something ourselves." She smiled and nodded. Her eyes lit up as she remembered a question. <color=purple>"By the way, Sophia... EMily and I overheard that you were colorblind. If you don't mind me asking, is it a racial quality or is it something that you acquired over time?"

 

[Zepherus14]

"Oh, well as I understand it all Ferret Beastkin are colourblind, and red's the only colour we can pick out." Sophia answered, sounding slightly embarrassed. "It's kind of the reason why I didn't understand why I didn't understand Victoria's nicknames for you two. Because you know... I couldn't really... tell." She added, rubbing the back of her head. "So... ya."

"But, if you would like to help me with some of the cooking if that's okay that would be great."

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"I think I can do that. Although I probably won't be as spectacular or as quick as Emily. But I can get 'er done. I asked about the nature of the colorblindness because my sister, Sara, has a pair of specially made color-corrective lenses. When she uses her powers, she temporarily goes colorblind. However if it's hereditary I'm not so sure if they would work. Because the lenses are designed to assume the role of the cones in ones eyes to take in color and send it to the brain via contact with the skin. She does have some spares, so we could at least try." She shrugged.

 

[Demonjazz]

Eric was in kitchen and eating again. This time it was a big burger with some bacon.

Sophia would have said it was 'no problem' about the cooking until Gwen started talking about the special lenses. The look on her face was one of disbelief, her expression almost looking like she expected Gwen to say 'Just kidding' at the end, and yet she didn't. "Y-you're serious?" She eventually managed to stammer out.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"I'm dead serious. Although they'll only work if your eyes had formerly functioning cones to receive data for different colors. If you can only see in shades of red, it might not work. But we can at least try. You know what I mean by cones in your eyes right?"

After a while of selecting her appearance, Samus walked out of the private space she had found to change. Her Zero Suit was folded carefully, and she was instead wearing a blue military jacket, a plain white tank top and dark cargo trousers. Her Paralyser was strapped to her leg as always. She looked around for a washing machine or something of the sort.
