Presently​

"N-n-no I wasn't sneaking or, or listning or doing anything like that!" Alain stammered in response to Caius.

Sophia winced again as she was asked the next question, the bit that she hadn't wanted to talk about with Winona before either. However she knew she couldn't lie to Caius on this, it was her only option to just say her piece. "T-The final stage... it's... the woman being consumed by..." She paused, the word on the tip of her tongue. Her face contorting slightly as her tongue simply sat underneath her front teeth like it was frozen trying to make the 'l' sound. "Lust..." She finally spat out, her face bright red and a look of deep embarrassment and shame across it.

"They want to kill me because they think I'm going to try to use this power to control people and become a monster!" She started to cry. "But I don't! I don't want that at all!!" She started to weep into her hands.

 

[Slenn]

"Maybe I should try looking at the dagger myself sometime. But for right now, we'll need to find a way over to that broadcast station."

OOC: Nearing the end of my work period.

 

[Chungus]

Caius noted how Alain responded, the way he did enough to reaffirm his suspicions. He didn't say anything to Alain, instead listening to Sophia's explaination, waiting for her to finish when she drifted off.

When the answer did come, Caius frowned slightly, but this was the only vissible reaction he showed to the revelation. "You say you have had this power under control, yet here we are, in a situation where people iam to hunt you down. What has happened in the past that made this so?" he asked bluntly, not easing up on Sophia, even as she started to weep.

With Alain not pointing out their pressence, "Silence" began recording the Caius' questioning of Sophia, cocking their head slightly when Sophia revealed what effect her power could ultimately have on women.

"I see. I hope I as able to sate your curiousity."

Walking further into the kitchen, Yeul began stopped at the pantry, thinking for a moment what she would get for Sophia, still being unfamiliar with a lot of the foodstuffs present, and not knowing if Sophia's diet was any different then her own. She decided to simply make something she had liked, and to put it in the fridge if it did end up being the case Sophia wouldn't be able to eat it.

Taking two slices of bread, Yeul put it in the toaster, and turned the device on. "If I could ask you this question;" Yeul began after putting the bread in the toaster, turning towards Joel. "What happened to your arm?"

"Yeah..."

Vicky breathed out.

"I must have sounded like a selfish *****, huh?"

She kept her head down and slowly shook it as she changed her sitting position, propping her legs up and resting her arms on her knees.

Alain started to stand up and back out of the room when an idea came to him. "N-no it wasn't me! It was that robot, the mute one! I saw him sneaking around so so I confronted him and he threw me against the wall!" Alain exclaimed, then pointed to the doorway where Silence stood. "See? He's still there!"

"Enough, Victoria. Instead of whining about whatever mistakes you made, aim to improve upon them."

Vicky replied, almost sounding irritated. She let out a few tired coughs and added,

"Now are we done here? Because you did wake me up when I was in the middle of sleeping."

Last Week to Present​

Vicky became much more active after Roland's talk with her, returning to a state of anxious restlessness from her previous inactivity. At any waking moment she would be either exercising, watching out for threats, or looking exhausted from doing either of the previous two for too long.

She had also done with improving her appearance a bit, going out and buying several new sets of clothes to replace her tattered and stained original wear. The outfits she bought were simple, tank tops, half white and half black, and sets of fatigues in a variety of different camouflage styles. She spent the rest of the day she took to go out and buy her clothes tailoring them to her preference, which mainly consisted of cutting holes in the back of the pants to accommodate her tail.

After that, but still not the present​

Victoria turned her head to face Yeul, but avoided making eye contact.

"Well, not exactly, no. See, I live on a city that floats in the air, and my job is to protect the people who live on it from intruders."

She breathed out deeply and balled her left hand into a fist.

"That's basically the worst thing I could ever imagine happening."

Previously:​

Hearing Victoria's response, Yeul silently wondered how a city in the sky could be at risk from intruders, then realised the place Caius mentioned was also a sky city and that thus, such a chance was real enough.

"Is it often that attempts at intrusion occur?" She settled on asking.

Presently:​

Yeul noted Joel rubbing his shoulder and thought she must be opening old wounds. This made her think if she should continue asking questions on the subject. She settled on doing so, thinking Joel would mention it if a paticular subject of the topic wasn't up for discussion.

"How did that happen?" she asked carefully.

Getting herself under control enough to answer back, Sophia sniffled a little as she tried to think how best to describe the situation. "Y-you heard about that war they mentioned, right? I-It all started because of these powers. I-It's like I've got a disease or curse... [small]Just like how Yeul was acting just now...[/small]" Sophia explained as she tried to wipe her face with her arm.

 

[Kirke]

Once your temporary weariness has passed, you decide to try and find Sophia. Following the echos of conversation, you soon find yourself in sight of the door where Cauis and Sophia were talking. You step a bit closer and, once you can see Sophia as well, you dryly ask if this is a bad time.

 

[Chungus]

Caius listened to Sophia's response, slightly turning his head to the right and glancing away from Sophia when he heard Alain. "One moment..." He said, looking back to Sophia, then turning around and stepping towards the door, reaching for the doorknob, intending to close the door. He didn't care what may have happened between Alain and "Silence", only that it was intruding on hs questioning of Sophia.

He was about to pull the door shut, when Shara approached. "It is." He answered curtly, looking Shara over, his gaze lingering momentarily to the blaster at her hip. At this, Caius closed the door.

"Right." He said after closing the door, turning back to Sophia again. "First; Know that how Yeul acted was at my behest. She would not have acted so cautiously, otherwise." He clarified, then paused. "Back on the subject. It is not something you did, personally, that makes these men hunt you? But people having the same... powers as yourself?"
[hr]
"Silence" looked to Alain as he tried to frame them, bemused by this. They took a step forward, moving closer to Alain. Standing close, looming over Alain, "Silence" pressed the index finger of their right hand against Alain's chest. A moment after this, they pulled it away again, but kept the arm raised, slowly wagging their finger, staring Alain down all the while.

When shara approached, "Silence" turned their head, looking to her.

"S-Shara." Sophia stammered as she heard her voice, a bit shocked to see her again.

Vicky answered, gesturing to her metal limbs.

"They never made it that far though while I was on patrol. One time they almost did, but that was way before my time."

As Victoria gestured to her prosthettic limbs, Yeul looked at them momentarily with a slightly tilted her, her eyes moving back and forth from Victoria's legs and arm, then finally, to the scar on Victoria's throat. The eye movement certainly wouldn't be unnoticeable.

"Is this also how your voice came to be what it is now?" She asked after a moment of considdering wherther she should ask this or nor.

Caius looked to the largely buffed out scratches on his chestplate after Victoria spoke. Pray a scenario of the like that place witnessed does not play out in your city.

Presently:​

"I see... I am sorry this happened to you." Yeul responded, feeling like she shouldn't pry further into the matter, afterall. "But at le--" She began, cut cut herself off once the bread was toasted, popping up from the toaster. "--At least you managed to get a replacement, and lead a somewhat normal life because of it." She finished, walking over to the toaster, picking up a plate, and putting the pieces of toasts on it. "On my homeworld, no such things exist."

"Oh..." Sophia answered back, not really knowing what 'behest' meant, but figuring this wasn't the time to ask. Seeing him closing the door however made Sophia tense up a little, why did he want her all alone? "F-For the most part yes, although..." She paused as she clasped her hands again, frowning a bit as she remembered sad memories. "There was the incident that started this whole mess, when I got these stupid powers and got thrown into all of this... How was I supposed to know I was causing them headaches." She said, looking like she was on the brink of tears again.
