We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

[Chungus]

The crowd began to disperse a little as "Silence" approached them, the approach of an faceless armoured figure, surrounded by some force not doing much to instill confidence in any of them. In turn, "Silence" slowed down to a normal walking speed, and disabled their forcefield with a push of the same button they hit to activate it. They approached with their hands raised, moving onto the sidewalk.

While some pedestrians moved away from "Silence" and others stood where they were, looking "Silence" over with uncertainty, most resumed what they were doing before when "Silence" moved down the street without incident.

That the crowd began to disperse, intially, ontop of their appearance, wouldn't make pinpointing "Silence" all that difficult, although now that they were moving with the crowd, it would make attacking risky.

"Silence's" jet bike continued following the movements of its rider, standing by and maintainting its altitude.

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Heavy mass above us. Few hundred kilograms."

"Gwen, bring us down and maintain a walking speed."

The girls did so, but didn't cool down their energy just yet.

OOC: Heading back home on bike in a sec. Was at cosplay club.

Eric had been following everyone as they ran with Silence. He kept up with remarkable agility and speed for some one laden down with heavy armour. He was always attempting to get in the front but didn't seem very eager to get into the action himself.

 

[Chungus]

As they continued moving, "Silence" opened a link to the system which controlled teir jet-bike again, asking if they had managed to shake their persuers yet.

The jet bike moved infront of "Silence" by a few meters, descending as it went. When it had moved ten meters forward, and 500 meters down, the jet-bike turned its front towards the street behind "Silence" and scanned it. "They are distaned, but still following. Turn to your right, activate your cloak, and cross the street." The AI informed "Silence".

"Silence" acknowledged the information, then told the AI to go to radio silence, informing it that there were some that could pick up on the transmition.

Doing as the jet-bike's the AI instructed them, "Silence" brought their right arm up in preperation of turning the corner. They were hesitant to activate their cloaking device on a busy street, but did so regardless once they turned the corner. After doing so, "Silence" noted their disappearance had gone unnoticed, the pedestrians infront of them having their back turned, and blocking the field of vision of those that hadn't.

With their cloaking active, "Silence" crossed the street, leaping over the moving cars to do so.

 

[Demonjazz]

Eric had of course tried to catch up too Silence but he was neither stupid enough to jump into busy traffic or fast enough to catch up with it before jumping into traffic. He just ended up catching his breath on the sidewalk.

 

[Slenn]

The sisters kept up their pace as he turned the corner. The electrical signature from activating the cloaking device was picked up by EMily, as well as a radio signal. Although she didn't have Photon out to translate it into sound data.

"He's activated the cloaking device."
<color=purple>"Don't worry, I know where he is. It seems like he's headed towards the large mass I felt in the air. We'll intercept him." She said, her eyes still closed. Gwen levitated themselves upwards and glided across the ground.

 

[Chungus]

Hovering backwards, the jet-bike's AI kept their gaze on the sisters. Descending by another 500 meters, the jet-bike began moving closer towards "Silence's" position, still moving backwards to keep watching the sisters.

Looking to their right, "Silence" saw the sisters still following, and silently groaned, looking back straight ahead. They picked up the pace, and moved closer to the buildings on their right hand side, weaving nimbly through the oncoming pedestrians. Occasionally, "Silence" glanced up to judge when would be a good moment to jump up onto a building.

 

[Kirke]

As you approach the city, you mutter to yourself that you should have simply shot the bastard. When above the city, your gravimetric sensor spots a small vessel in the air. With no other scanners picking it up, and not willing to risk firing your blasters over the city, you decide to simply follow it at a crawl.

Alain looked out of the doorway of the ship at everyone chasing Silence, but decided not to get involved. He sat on a crate in the cargo bay of Dave's ship, carving a stone more to pass the time than for any need of a new rune.

Awoken by the commotion outside, Roland ran outside and began following the others in the chase, but he was far behind and likely wouldn't catch up to anyone.

Joel headed back into the ship, and sat down near Alain. [color=003399]"What are you doing?"[/color] he asked, curiously.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Samus finished getting the suit on, activating her armour. She looked out the window of the ship, searching for any sign of Silence, and resolving to find her X ray visor as soon as possible.

 

[Slenn]

The sisters ascended a few meters. Even though Silence was cloaked, the fact that his mass was moving faster than the walking pedestrians, made him easy to spot.

Feeling an incoming source of electromagnetic activity, EMily turned herself on her back in mid-flight while Gwen was carrying them, so that she was facing upwards. "There's some electrical activity coming from the mass you've spotted."

Winona all this time had been focusing on gathering energy, and it was at its maximum. In a bright flash of green light, a third eye appeared as she radiated a lime green glow in her WZ Form.

Alain looked up from his work as Joel approached, setting down the rock and a small, narrow tool that looked almost like a pen onto the crate next to him. "I'm doing magic." He replied, waving his fingers around to emphasize the last word. "Y'know, I knew that mute guy was trouble. You should have listened to me."

 

[Chungus]

Noting Shara's ship approach, the jet-bike's AI considdered shooting it down, knowing that the probability of it posing a problem later if it didn't were high. Fortunately for Shara, however, the AI's programming prohibited it from having its actions endanger the lives of bystanders, and a space ship crashing down on a city certainly clasified as that.

They began descending the last mile, not moving backwards, as that would place its position too far ahead of "Silence".

"Silence" continued moving at a brisk pace for a moment longer, then stopped and turned towards a store to their right, jumping ontop of the roof the store. At this point, the jet-bike had descended to "Silence's" level, hovering above the street. The jet-bike de-activated their cloak as the dome slid back.

As the jet-bike uncloaked, pedestrians walking below panicked, and began moving away from the site.

"They're still following you. Hurry." The AI's voice rang out from the bike.

Caius and Yeul looked to "Silence" bolt off, and others following him for a moment, after which Caius shook his head. "It is safe, now." He said to Yeul.

Yeul responded with a nod and a soft hmm, and stepped away from the tree. Together with Caius, Yeul began walking back to the ship.

 

[Demonjazz]

Eric deciding that it was kind of pointless to try and get across the street cause it was likely that if he did he would either be behind Silence or cause a horrible pile up of cars and much death and destruction. He instead decided to just go back to the ship. He had eventually came up to Alain. "Weren't you complaining about how you didn't have enough fights earlier?"

 

[Slenn]

The sisters sped up to the level at which Silence was on the rooftops. They were gaining much speed as they were only 7 meters behind him.

EMily activated Photon form in a flash of blue light. Gwen kept concentrating on maintaining speed.

Alain turned his attention to Eric"Um, well... I would have helped, but I..." he said, desperately trying to come up with an excuse. "I was busy with... magic stuff, and I have confidence in the rest of my team! Yeah, that's it!"

[color=003399]"I suppose we should've."[/color] Joel said, looking at the rock and the pen-like tool. [color=003399]"I've never seen anyone do magic like that. How does it work?"[/color]

 

[Kirke]

You remain above the roofs of the city, and as such when the hoverbike decloaks it is practically in front of you. You consider blowing it to bits with a missile, but you fear for the safety of the people beneath. You also wonder if you should drop off Samus, but with the Mason sisters right there and "Silence" likely to try to escape, you decide to go as slow as you can and wait for the hoverbike to take off again. While you wait, you run a scan on the bike to try and find out details about its power supply, shielding and possibly weaponry.

OoC: Oh, like one hoverbike can take out the Sworder just like that...

Samus saw Silence jump on his hoverbike. "Turn the ship. Keep it steady." she told Shara, heading to the door and readying her cannon.
