<color=green>"It took a long time for things to get where they are. Sometimes it's hard to believe this process exists because it takes a long time. But look at the domesticated cat and dog. Their ancestors were more feral. And the humans selected the offspring that were more docile and friendly. And some offspring were chosen to be larger, or smaller, or more aggressive. This is artificial selection, resulting in all the cats and dog species of today."

EMily showed vast excitement and her face brightened.
"But think about how lucky we are! For both our worlds! By sheer chance our world was gifted with life and allowed it to live for so long!"

Samus tensed up a bit, obviously not used to social contact, but didn't freak out or anything. She nodded to Shara, exiting her ship and looking over Dave's, activating her armour as she did so to scan over the hull.

"Who cares, so long as it's gone, I'm happy."

Vicky relaxed her guard the slightest bit, enough to be vigilant, but no longer on edge.

[color=Totally not a dimensional traveling witch that sells potions on the fly]"I know non-magic universes were a touch sell, but this is pretty impressive..."[/color] The old woman commented as she was seemingly ignored by the rest of Caius' band of city goers. Without much else to do as they left to go into the building the woman slowly reached down into the desk pulling out a mini cauldron and various 'erbs and unmentionables. [color=Totally not a dimensional traveling witch that sells potions on the fly]"Maybe next time..."[/color] She said as she added some ingredients.

"I guess..." Sophia said as she checked around just to make sure the penguin wasn't hiding anywhere else. "It's kinda nice here though, not to hot, kinda breezy. Where did we go now?" She asked Gwen more specifically, figuring she had a better chance knowing then Victoria.

 

[Chungus]

"It is curious, that this process of artificial evolution you mentioned, is done on a vast scale by yet another Fal'Cie, on my world. It swallows up whole one kind of creature, and spits out a stronger version of it." Yeul said to Winona as she entered the bounty store after Caius, staying near the entrance, and leaning against a wall there.

Upon hearing Emily, Yeul looked to her and smiled a little. "Indeed, fortune smiles upon the cycle of life."

Now that everyone had entered the bounty store, Sam approached the entrance to it himself. Moving to the right-hand side of it, he pressed his right hand against the wall, leaning against it while peeking inside the store. While he looked, he kept an eye out for pedestrians, not wanting any to bump into him. Every so often, Sam cast a glance at the old woman, raising an eyebrow when she pulled out the couldron. [color=edc393]Huh.[/color]

Sanning the hull of Dave's ship, Samus may find the tracking beacon being attached to the shaft the front most landing gear came from, inserted as high up as Sam could reach with his arm.

In case she was able to track the signal, she would find it going out to Elm, who now was some odd eighty meters away from the docking site.

Sam would feel like he was being watched, if his vision was sharp enough, he'd notice the woman's lazy eye was looking his way.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Nope. I think his name was just 'Penguin'. She pointed over yonder. <color=purple>"The people went off to a city called Cañon City."

<color=green>"Oh my. On this planet those creatures would be considered genetically modified organisms. Those creatures you mentioned are using bioengineering to reconstruct the genetic code, the special chemical, that defines how they are made."

"Indeed our worlds are most fortunate. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself."

The two sisters then took a look around at the place.

Samus couldn't pick up where the signal was going, but she did find the tracker. She tried pulling it off the hull, but gently enough that it wouldn't be damaged, hoping to figure out its workings.

 

[Zepherus14]

"And where's that? We were in the air for a while weren't we?" Sophia asked, before taking in a deep breath. "It's pretty nice out here though. Did you sleep alright?" She eventually asked, realizing Gwen was out for most of the ranting and lamenting she'd done on the flight.

"I finished the rest of that sandwich, by the way. It was just as good as the first time. Maybe I should help you next time to make more?" Sophia joked.

"Regardless, what would you two like to do while we wait for them to come back, it's not right for you two to keep watching while they are off doing whatever, right?" She asked both of them.

 

[Chungus]

Now that the tracking beacon had been activated, it would be near impossible to remove it with damaging the device, both due to its small size, and the powerful magnet keeping it in place. However, if Samus were to pressed the two small buttons on the side of the beacon and press them simultaneously, the beacon would shut down, and fall off.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"I slept okay. It was only a short nap. Now I'm ready for anything. The city should just be a few kilometers where I pointed. We're in Colorado, a state in the country known as USA." She displayed a hologram of the Earth indicating where they were. <color=purple>"Here we are. And here's where we came from."

Samus' scan found the small buttons, and she pressed them, detaching it and letting it fall into her hand. She looked it over, then backed away from the ship.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Wow..." Sophia said, a little surprised to see the globe floating there as it did. She stared at it for a while before moving her hand to see if she could touch it. "That seems pretty far I guess? So is this Earth?"

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Yes, this is Earth. Home sweet home." She made a genuine smile.

Everyone who was in the bounty store would see the green-haired man, sitting behind the counter. "Come to surrender?" he asked. "Or to finish burning this place down?"

 

[Slenn]

"Neither. I'm at least going to show you information regarding Sophia's crimes, and the probability of them." She summoned Photon and readied the video of the knight's memories. "The knights attacked us on sight. I had to retrieve the knight's memories quickly before more damage was done."

 

[Zepherus14]

"So other than that globe, what other neat things can that do?" Sophia asked as she pointed at the Graviton.

"So, I suppose you killed them both, correct?" the man replied.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Well, it is a quantum computer. Which means it's super fast calculator, machine, and database. It can also study atomic and molecular properties of materials at a macroscopic scales. It can also calculate gravity at the atomic and quantum mechanical scales. Which essentially means it's good at figuring out how gravity works at the incredibly small scale. Sometimes that will allow me to harness powers that are far cheaper to use in my Graviton Form. Usually the cost of using the abilities with this tool is usually double. It can also morph into a telescope, because I like astronomy. It also holds tons of data and texts regarding history, astronomy, and physics." Sophia would not be able to get a grasp of what the 'gun' looked like. Indeed it was gun shaped. But if she were to shift her head, she would notice that its apparent 3D shape morphed. Only Gwen's innate sense of time and space allowed her to know where the handle was.

 

[Slenn]

"Yes, because they had attacked us. They refused to come down to talk and continued their attack. I couldn't get any words from them other than 'the only time for talk will be after we have killed Sophia.' As you can see I was in a bit of a bind to get information. Fortunately, with my abilities, I was able to forcefully obtain one of the knight's memories. I touched his head with my hand to retrieve them. And that's how I got this gash. Sophia explained it as a magic vorpal dagger spell of sorts."

She displayed the video again of the knight's memories before they had come here. After it was finished she said:

Her voice sounded honest, wanting to show her true feelings on the matter.
"I've seen her use chocolate magic. And the memories detail theft. The one charge that's questionable is the murders. No one has ever seen a sight of Sophia killing any knights with chocolate magic. While memories claim she was the only recorded chocolate mage at the time, the only thing that pins her to the 63 murders is an assumption. While it is enough suspicion for questioning her, the fact that no one has ever seen her kill anyone on her home with the magic she uses makes the murder charge debatable. We have a rule in science: 'correlation does not mean causation.' And I want to get more evidence. I implore you to see this through."
