"I'd let you get more evidence, but I'm not authorised to open a portal to Sophia's home universe until she's in the knights' custody. A bunch of men with guns did come in here, saying they want to put you all on trial here on Earth. So, you could do that, [small][sub]if you're okay with blatant disregard for jurisdictional boundaries[/sub][/small]." he replied, muttering the last part. "Long story short; I haven't got a fucking clue what's going on any more, and I just want you lot to deal with it yourselves, before this store gets blown up."

 

[Zepherus14]

"A telescope?" She asked, the other abilities of the Graviton not exactly exciting her as much as the more ordinary idea of the telescope. "At the college there was some telescopes, Richard was rather interested in them. He showed me a couple of times when he was out star gazing. It was interesting to see them closer up." Sophia replied pleasantly. "It's surprising what a little bit of glass and mirrors can do in a tube."

 

[Slenn]

"For the record I have no intention of doing any damage to this place at all. I just want to get this matter cleaned up before more combat comes our way."

<color=green>"Could you elaborate on the jurisdictional boundaries you were talking about? And who were these men? Can you tell us what they looked like if they didn't tell you their names?"

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Yeah, it's a basic optical telescope, but it's awesome. But, who's this 'Richard'? Was he a colleague of yours?" Gwen commanded Graviton to morph into a telescope. Specifically a solar telescope. <color=purple>"Look through the lens. The telescope can have a solar filter so you can view the sun. I can't hand over the telescope otherwise it'll disappear. I'll hold it and you can look through."

 

[Drakmorg]

"Whaddya mean 'what would you two like to do'?"

Vicky asked Sophia, sounding bemused.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Richard is just a student like I am, it's not like I was the only one there, right?" Sophia grinned a little, her head tilting when she noticed the telescope appear. "Alright, lets see." Sophia said as she placed her face up to the lenses as she looked in. "So that's the star here, the sun?" Sophia commented.

"I mean is if I keep being stressed like I've been from earlier I'm going to get sick. So what can we do to still be wary and safe, but distress a little? Do you know what I mean?" She asked Victoria as she continued looking through the telescope.

"They want to put you on trial on Earth, when technically I should be giving you to the knights. They don't have jurisdiction here, or in Sophia's universe, so technically they don't have the right to ask that." the man explained, as he took out a pen and a few pieces of paper. While speaking, he drew the faces of all the men that had entered the bounty store. "These are the guys. They're at this location." he said, offering Winona the paper and the note the leader of the men had written. "He was from one of those groups with a ridiculous acronym nobody ever remembers."

As Gwen and Sophia spoke, Joel sat down nearby, listening to Gwen's explanations, for lack of anything better to do.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Yes that's it. We're seeing the surface of the sun. Can you see blotches on the sun? Those are sunspots. They are points where solar flares erupt."

"Well, when you have different powers and politics, this is what you get. Whether you like it or not, you'll eventually find a group of people that won't know their boundaries until they meet you. Think of it like a debate between three different factions: us, your bounty store, and the knights. While our laws and areas might be different, all three of our factions must be able to talk to each other at some point and get things settled. That's the whole point of diplomacy."

Winona looked at the paper.
<color=green>"Hmmm..." Winona sounded. She summoned her W± hammer and recorded the location and their appearance. <color=green>"Well, I don't know if that's what we'll immediately do. But we'd at least like to find them."

 

[Zepherus14]

"But isn't stars supposed to be big balls of... stuff... it's not fire, its something else though like it... How do you get spots on that?" Sophia asked as she squinted into the telescope. "I think I see it actually, the spots I mean."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"I'm pretty sure most people can reasonably assume their jurisdiction ends when their universe does, though." the man pointed out. "Anything else?"

 

[Slenn]

"Well, we're in a situation where the borders are no longer marked by political boundaries on a 3D globe. And aren't you and your establishment in many universes? And what universe dictates what jurisdiction you're allowed in? And yes, I'm talking about this establishment." She asked.

<color=green>"I think that's all really."

<color=purple>"We'll you're right. They're not on fire. Stars are a collection of mostly hydrogen gas that's undergoing nuclear fusion. The gas is so hot that the atoms themselves are fusing into new atoms. I'm sure you remember Winona's talk on them. The star is an equilibrium of nuclear fusion and the gravity that holds the titanic mass of gas together. The spots themselves are cooler areas of the gas that don't glow. They come and go in a matter of days."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"That would be another group with a ridiculous acronym nobody ever remembers." the man said, before waving. "Try not to commit any more crimes."

 

[Zepherus14]

"Oh... So would that be Winona's or Sara's expertise that are doing that? Fusion isn't something you or EMily do right? Or I guess if you need gravity then you'd be helping too right?" Sophia asked as she continued to look into the telescope before finally standing back from it. "Thanks, that was interesting to see."

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"You're very welcome. And yes, nuclear fusion would be hard for I or EMily to achieve on our own. Winona and Sara are more capable of doing it and understand it more. Sara can do many things with nuclear fusion. In a closed environment, she can produce heavy elements from lighter ones. Sometimes she actually prepares metals for battle with this method when there are no metals to spare, such as shields and iron spikes. Winona can help assist with Sara to speed up the nuclear fusion. And Sara's powers can help cure diseases and target cancer tumors. Although using it as a weapon is used sparingly and only used in the most dire of cases. This century knows the terrors that nuclear weapons can create, and why it sparks so much controversy. It's a power that Sara holds with great responsibility. I'm sure she won't mind me saying this but... that's probably the reason why she's the most reserved and least reckless of all of us."

 

[Drakmorg]

Victoria hummed as she thought over Sophia's response.

"You two do what you like, and I'll keep watch. That'll solve it."

With that, Vicky went to go climb up on top of Dave's ship to get a better view of the surrounding area.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Hopefully I'll be able to talk to her about some of those things. That sounds kinda cool that she can make some stuff into other stuff."

"But I guess I could relate to her then..." Sophia said as she scratched the side of her head. "I guess that just means she really cares about you guys and don't want to see you hurt." Sophia answered back, trying to keep the conversation positive.

"Alright, just be careful up there. Tell us how the view is too?" Sophia told Victoria as she left to watch the surroundings.

"Want to sit down for a bit on those rocks right there?" Sophia asked Gwen, pointing to a rock rather close by the ship. "We can talk more there." Sophia said as she headed for the rock, sitting down on it and stretched to touch her toes rather effortlessly.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Sure thing." And she followed along, dematerializing Graviton. <color=purple>"No doubt she looks out for all of us. She's a tank who is usually on the front lines. Although she's stingy about my swearing. No doubt she'll arrive soon in a few days."

 

[Zepherus14]

"You do have a bit of a potty mouth sometimes, but it isn't that bad really." Sophia said as she continued to stretch. "What's it like for you having sisters?"

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Well, it got really crowded during the time we were in the manor. Even if it was spacious. In our early days, EMily and I got into fights a lot. When we were about 16 to 18 they stopped. There were plenty of times where I wanted to distance myself from the others. Either they were too loud or noisy and I couldn't get Winona's goofiness. Now I'm more tolerable of what they like to do and they understood why I felt so different from them. We're good friends. I love my sisters' recipes and they enjoy my astronomy."

 

[Zepherus14]

"I can only imagine really. The closest thing I ever got was playing with the neighbouring kids, but it's not really the same. But why did you feel different from them, if you don't mind me asking?"
