After both shut down their radio feeds, Sam pressed the button to unmute his helmet again, opening the door and stepping inside. In the room, Sam glanced around. He didn't require light to see, and could pick up the bald man's features, and noting the various guards present.

"Thank you." Elm responded to the greeting as it hovered inside the room. It did need light to see, and outside of the jet-bike, didn't have access to sonar, leaving it moving somewhat slowly while making the most of what little light was there.

"Not exactly a red carpet, but I take what I can get." Sam said jokingly, closing the door, then turning to face the man, standing stiffly.

"Is there anything your side would like to get out of the way, or shall I explain why this meeting was called?" Elm questioned.

"Go ahead, I am sure we have much to discuss."

The man's features were stern and angular, with some wrinkles that seemed pre-mature in nature.

OoC: See without light? How da fuq does that work? Also, I can literally not see Elm's text without selecting it.

"My serial name is YLM-245Z-324i. My designated interface name is Elm. My ascociate is codenamed 'Silence'." Elm began to explain. "We're part of an organization known as the "Forefront", in Common Language 64. We have operations in numerous dimensions, which - as of two months ago in the local time - includes this one. We've been operating unofficially, until learning the fact that this paticular planet has an international taskforce concerned with dealing with extra-dimensional activities, made us considder having negotiations to have our operations sanctioned.

While finding this paticular taskforce has proven troublesome, if the agency you represent has a division concerned with the same phenomenon, we would extend the offer of negotiations with you."

While Elm talked, Sam stood by and idly listened in, hoping the negotiations wouldn't last too long. As he waited, he didn't move at all.

Faro walked over and punched Stone in the back of the head to knock him out. He would try to catch him and make sure he didn't get hurt on the fall. He then took his gun away and put it in his own pocket.

The representative's face remained unchanged as Elm spoke. "And what would these operations amount to?"

Joanna jumped at the sudden display of violence by Faro, but didn't go for her weapons again just yet. She watched him closely as he laid Stone down, ready to let fly with a dagger if Faro came after her as well.

"I suppose you all heard what he was so angry about." She said defensively, looking around furtively at the crowd gathered in the galley.

"Well...I don't really mind...as long as she doesn't come after us, or innocents." Faro said as he was watching Stone to see if he would come to or do anything bad.

Sara exited the room in her orange one piece, and came strolling across the conflict that was going on in the ship. She didn't have her glasses on, but she had the 3023-AD equivalent of a pair of contacts in her eyes. They wouldn't guarantee color correction if she were to use her powers however.

<color=brown>"We have a lot of new people here, including me. So more often than not, there's going to be an upheaval of differences and conflicts." She said as she stopped by.

"Operations come in two forms; prospecting, and relations. The first is where we monitor places of interest for objects of interest. Should we find said objects of interest discarded, we take them from the place they were found on to be studied and/or repurposed.

The second, is where we - provided the other party proves non-hostile - negotiate the terms that would result in us acquiring objects of interest in exchange for knowledge, while retaining a side of impartiallity. This part of our operations is rarely executed, on account of the difficulty of either or both finding a party that is non-hostile, or remaining impartial."
Elm explained while hovering in place.

OOC: Going to pretend that someone filled Cap in on what the problem with Joanna is while the conflict was ongoing.

Steve had edged closer so that he could see over the heads of some of the others in the galley, and was now standing with his arms folded, looking troubled.

"These conflicts always seem to be of the 'will one of our shipmates lose control and murder us all' lately." He muttered in response to Sara. "I have some... experience with sensitive colleagues, but this sounds different. They're talking about that kid like some sort of psychopath. Like she's going to hurt people in the crew out of some kind of.. predatory urge."

Hearing what Faro said, Joanna decided to assume the best of him and laid down her bandolier of knives.

<color=brown>"Are you talking about Joanna? Then some people need to learn not to assume so much. That's all there is to it. She's undead, but she seems quite harmless. Even thoughtful."

With Seras not saying anything for a while, Vicky spent most of her effort on altering the swimsuit she had bought, cutting out a hole for her tail then hemming it neatly.

<color=green>"Well, 'being used to this kind of weather' doesn't make you immune to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Unless you're brown in skin tone from melanin. You'll get sunburn and blisters if you stay out for too long." She dropped down a bottle of sunblock near her and sat down beside.

OOC: Heading out for groceries.

Steve glanced briefly at Sara and nodded.
"I agree, she seems alright. Doesn't give the impression that she'd want to hurt anyone. She's awfully quick to reach for those blades, but that seems like trauma more than anything. Saw it all the time in shellshocked soldiers back in the war. It might be a good idea to keep an eye on her just in case. She doesn't seem to be denying the accusations levelled against her either."

"Unfortunately, these goals may interfere with two factors of our own operations. Firstly, it is our duty to uphold the charter of human rights. This charter establishes, amongst other things, the right to privacy and the rights of ownership. Moreover, we have our own efforts to retrieve extra-dimensional equipment, in order to better understand how this crisis occurs, and how to better contain it."
