Samus' shot hit one of the shotgun-wielding robots, melting its upper body and leaving only the feet remaining where it was standing.

Kenna's kick connected with another robot, and it's head was crushed with only slightly more resistance than a human skull would give. The headless robot collapsed, now inactive.

Seras and Faro would find that the robots they attacked fell easily, only two or three shots or slashes per robot before they fell to the ground in a twitching heap of scrap metal.

In the time it took for them to kill four scout-bots, another ten had already been built and joined in the fight. The bat-wielding bots charged at Seras and Faro, swinging wildly as they tried to surround the vampires. The shotgun robots concentrated fire on Samus, but one of them split from the rest of the robots and fired at Kenna.

Alain stepped out of the ship and calmly walked up to Joel. [color=5F04B4]"Why is there so much noise? What's happening?"[/color]

 

[Chungus]

In Cádiz, the Watcher picked up on the ramps of the giant vehicles opening. It zoomed in on the interior of the vehicles, recoding the machinery at work. Once the legion of robots spilling forth from the vehicles, the Watcher zoomed out to film a greater look at a greater number of the robots at once. It was then that the Watcher noticed the group charging into battle. The Watcher didn't pay notice to anything in particular, focusing more on the robots then them.

As it observed the battle, the Watcher relayed its findings to Elm and Sam, not relying its findings to Forefront's space station, as the opening of a portal to facilitate that would be liable to make its presence known..

Aboard the Sworder​

Sam only recieved a pinging noise to notify him, not seeing the visual part of it with his faceplate slid up. [color=edc393]Eh?[/color]

Elm, on the other hand, immediately looked into the notification. "How far are we from the planet we came from?" Elm questioned.

[color=003399]"ROBOTS ARE TRYING TO FUCKING KILL US!"[/color] Joel yelled back at Alain, swinging the Murasama at any robots that got near him. [color=003399]"WHEN I FIND THE ASSHOLE BEHIND THIS, I'M GOING TO FUCKING SPITROAST HIM!"[/color]

The shotgun pellets clinked off Samus' armour, scratching the metal but not doing major damage. She retaliated with a hail of plasma shots.

Kenna dodged to the side as the bot raised its gun, avoiding the shotgun blast, then leapt forward, aiming to put her fist through the robots face.

 

[Kirke]

Joel's swings cut straight through three Scout Bots going at him, and three more attacked from the front, while one tried to run behind him.

Alain's calm demeanour changed immediately, and he shouted out [color=5F04B4]"Oh crap!"[/color] before pulling out his hammer. He swung it in a panic and managed to smash the head of the flanking bot straight off. It flew twenty metres before landing right in a pit.

Two shotgun ScoutBots fell instantly to Samus's barrage, and a third's leg fell off. It jumped around pathetically before falling over from the recoil of it's own weapon.

Kenna's fist did indeed go straight through, which might become a slight trouble as the insides were sparking fairly violently from the damage. Two more, wielding bats, charged at her and tried to smash her skull in.

The ten reinforcement robots charged in, divided like this: (S=Shotgun Bot, B=BatBot)
S1 & S2 fire at Samus, while B7 & B8 run up to smash at her.
B1 & B2 run to bash Kenna's brains in.
B3, B4, B5 & B6 join the robots assaulting the two vampires, now numbering
B9 & B10 charge at Joel, while Alain rushes back into the ship again. The total number of bots are now five.

Ten more bots are created, and are on their way to join the fight.

The Sworder, approaching Mars in a slingshot orbit.
You smirk again at Sam, repeating that it was simply intuition. You then turn serious, and glance at your control panels, and say that you are currently closing for a slingshot around Mars. You then ask why Elm wonders.

XCOM HQ, situation room.
Central Officer Bradford was pacing back and forth, staring at the blue hologlobe that was the centrepiece of the room while talking over his headset.
"Commander, reports are incoming about a major attack on the city of Cádiz. It's the same city that group of extra-dimensionals decided to go to. The attackers must be extra-dimensional in nature, I've never seen anything like that. I recommend we get a strike team out to fight back the invaders. Yes sir, I'll inform the troops."

Two minutes later four figures ran into the Skyranger. A minute later the craft took off, quickly racing south-west towards Spain.

Spoiler: The squad

Sergeant Sam Stone "Gonzo" (Assault class), wearing the armour-weave that is now standard for XCOM commandos, and is armed with a blaster rifle, highly powered but with a low magazine (Ten shots) Also carries a grenade. Sidearm: Regular pistol.

Cpl. Holly Taylor (Support class), also wearing armour-weave, and a blaster rifle. Carries three medkits, and has a regular pistol.

Ptv. Boris Ignatyev (Heavy class), again wearing armour-weave, but also has an extra-strong ribcage and chest, thanks to an alien blood transfusion. Carries the heaviest weapons in the XCOM arsenal; a triple blaster cannon and a rocket launcher. The triple blaster cannon can fire thirty shots before reloading, but always fires at least three shots at once.

Phaesan, an extradimensional helping XCOM, who will get her first taste of an XCOM field operation.

 

[Slenn]

The sisters prepared for combat; Sara drew her longsword and kept her grounds as she took point, Winona stood by to energize, Gwen cast a 2 g horizontal field against the bots approaching her and her sisters (attempting to push them back), and Emily cast a lightning bolt against a bot in assistance with Sara. The sisters were grouped together with Sara in front, EMily and Gwen in mid, and Winona in back. Sara whipped her sword out at the approaching bots but retained her energy for later. The sword itself with its great mass and sharpness was not impressed by the metal club wielding bots.

 

[Zepherus14]

Sophia had decided to take a short nap that had turned into a much longer nap than she'd initially thought, and when the yelling had started she'd gotten up and dressed. She also put on her glasses as she got a bit closer to the ship's exit to see what was happening. "What the hell!?" She exclaimed, able to see the monoliths that had come up from the ocean a large contrast to the shimmering water in the moonlight. She gathered some chocolate as she tried to assess the situation.

Elsewhere in the city, because why the hell not would I use them in such a situation

Jinzi and unnamed Butterfly man had been roaming the area when the announcement had started. The two watched as the armoured vehicles announced their demands, Jinzi's mouth quickly twisting to a large smile, while the man looked around to the other carriers and then back to the closest one. "Would you look at that? Wishes do come true, wouldn't you say dear? I'd say even without a bounty, this city'd be willing to give something up for some protection." He commented, doing a little stretch like he was going to go for a light jog.

[color=00c0c0]"OH-hoho, this is going to be good!~ How many you think have to be in there?"[/color] Jinzi was ecstatic, wielding her hip pistols.

 

[Chungus]

"The second area I showed you has just been elevated into an active hot zone." Elm answered, plainly. "A force of heavily armoured vehicle emerged from the ocean, and are deploying mechanized units. These machines, although undoubtedly extra-dimensional in nature, must have been constructed on the planet, as we didn't pick up anomalies signals that would displace a force that large onto it.

It's not necessary to return, however, as the conflict has only just flared up, and doesn't seem to die down soon." After clarifying that, Elm paused. "How much cargo can this ship carry?"

Sam heard Elm's explanation, and figured the pinging noise he heard was relating to that. Regardless, he decided to check and be sure. Lowering the faceplate, Sam opened to notice via voice command, and read through it. Once he found it was as he thought, Sam had the faceplate slide up again.

Joel slashed at both bots as they came for him, following the motions Sara had been teaching him. Matilda ran into the kitchen and grabbed a handful of knives from a cutlery drawer, before returning to the ship's entrance. [color=006d5b]"My having a gun would be really useful right now."[/color] she yelled, then began forming magical blades around the knives.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Kenna immediately regreted punching the robot's face, as her hand was now caught in a box of metal shards and live wires. She severed the robots neck and backed off as the bat bots closed in, trying to yank the wrecked head off her arm and dodge the strikes of the batters.

Samus jumped forward, activating the Screw Attack, aiming to saw through the melee bots.

 

[Outisakanobody]

Seras and Faro disengaged from the bots, then tried to get on either side of the tanks door. They then began trying to close the door back up to prevent more bots from coming out. They should probably succeed, since they both had super human strength. They would then try to push the tank back into the sea.

 

[Kirke]

Six batbots charged at the Mason sisters, but the gravity field easily tossed them back. Two shotgun bots open fire at them, keeping their distance. Thanks to this, neither Sophia or Matilda are attacked, as no bots can come near.

The two bots going at Joel fell to pieces, no match for the Muramasa. However, the five remaining ones charged at him all at once, trying to dogpile and savagely kill him.

The batbots were not utterly useless, and extremely quick. They easily caught up with Kenna, and wailed on her with the relentlessness of robotics. While she could probably dodge a few of the blows, there were now four beating at her.

Samus crushed one of the batbots, but they were far enough apart that the otherone was in the clear. It then tried to smash it's bat at the back of her head, while the two shotgun bots fired at her. Two more BatBots charged at her with bats ready to strike.

Considering they were surrounded by six BatBots, Seras and Faro paid a harsh price for trying to disengage. The bots closed in at the same time, beating at them mercilessly.

Ten more bots are created, and will soon join the fray.

You nod and then tell Elm that Sworder can carry twenty tons of cargo, and the hold is empty at the moment. You wonder to yourself if the group at the site of the attack, and feel tempted to turn back. However, you know that you cannot get back in time to help them anyway.

The tank releases twenty bots, five of them shotgun bots and the rest BatBots. While most of them spread out to hunt civilians, five BatBots charge at the duo with bats in the air.

Seras hoped Faro could take care of the door himself while she slashed at the bots attacking him, using her inhuman speed and strength to her advantage.

Joel would try to slash as many of the robots coming at him as he could. If any of them did manage to get a hold of him, they would likely be damaged by the heat coming off his body, and would certainly find his body to be as hard as metal if they tried beating him.

Matilda finished creating the knives, and started to throw them, one by one, at the robots, locating them by the sounds of their bodies moving. If the knives hit anyone morally good, they wouldn't be harmed, however if anyone morally evil were hit by them, they would feel an intense burning coming from the wounds.

 

[Chungus]

"Then, should the battle be over before we have returned to the planet - which is likely - I can simply create a portal to the location, and we can then load the items into the cargo bay. I can't even generate a fraction of the power needed to create a stable portal large enough to fit the vehicles through, so disassembling the most valuable components will be necessary." Elm stated. "A more efficient method, however, would be to create a portal to the site, then to the place where we're supposed to offload recovered items, and returning here once we're finished."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Samus was dazed by the blow to the head, allowing the shotgun bots to get a clean shot on her, damaging her armour. She recovered, then saw the new batbots charging at her. She bulled towards them with a shoulder tackle, the rockets on her boots flaring, trying to break through the robotic ranks.

Kenna managed to use her arms to stop the bats hitting anything vital, but even with her increased strength and resilience, she was taking a pounding. Eventually she managed to get a quick roundhouse in, knocking the bots away and giving her some breathing room. She shifted her arms to their lupine form, then waited, catching her breath and ready to counter the inevitable onslaught.

 

[Zepherus14]

Sophia watched as the bat wielding robots ran around like crazy people, trying to whack everything they would get their bats on. As she saw more of the robots come from the machine. "We need to stop those big things from making more!" Sophia exclaimed over the occasional shotgun shot, somewhat stating the obvious but with how it seemed like the giant machines just produced more and more soldiers, taking out the source seemed like the best idea.

As she thought about how they'd end up taking out one of those things, she considered using the chocolate crystal she'd buried in the morning, that thing easily big enough to cause some damage.

 

[Slenn]

Sara, who was in front, took most of the damage. The other sisters stood behind her as Sara took a defensive stance. Any pellets that came in contact would sting but not puncture the fibers that made their outfits. She punched through any bots that came close to her with her sword slashes.

<color=brown>"Keep punching through them! If we keep pressing the attack then we'll fire against their spawn points."

"It's a swarm." EMily commented on the newly manufactured bots. She fired three lightning bolts at the bat bots.

Gwen attempted to push the shotgun users with a couple of gravity tugs.

Winona sent out a Z0 punch from her hammer to get back at any bots coming at their flank.

 

[Kirke]

Seras destroyed three of the six bots that had followed them down to the beach. However, with everyone else still fighting the other bots and the two vampires being the most clear threat, the readied bots and newly finished bots all attacked them. This brought the count up to four shotgun bots and nineteen BatBots all converging at the two. The shotgun bots were leading the charge, and together fired two rounds at Seras and two at Faro. The wave of steel then smashed into them, smashing further with their metal bats. Even for a vampire, these bots are not to be underestimated.

Joel cut up two bots before being bull-rushed by the others. They did not really seem to notice the heat, although their metal reddened. One jumped up and charged at Matilda, but was knifed by her. It took a few knifes to bring it down, however. The other two continued to beat at Joel.

Samus smashed the two BatBots into small bits, though she was followed by the one who had already hit her once which continued to beat at her head while running behind her. The two shotgun bots both ran alongside a few metres away, firing at her.

Kenna destroyed one bot with her kick, and the rest fell into a pile. It took a second or two for them to get back up, and then they charged at her again. Strategy, it seemed, was not their strong point.

Sara had no bots to push through, as none had been able to come near due to the gravity field. With it presumably down however, the bots resumed their charge. That is, before they were electrocuted. Three kept coming, but without the shotgun bots (Which were falling away due to the gravity pushes), they were hardly a credible threat.

You frown as you think about the hypergates back home, the closest thing to a portal. You ask if the portal can inherit momentum, then go on to explain that you never sit still in space. Even now, when you can't feel the speed, the Sworder is travelling at over 70 000 kilometres a second.

Samus kept up her momentum, taking plasma popshots at the shotgun and bat bots harassing her as she tried to get to Seras and Faro to help even their odds.

Kenna used a low sweeping kick to trip one bot as it charged towards her, then grabbed its legs before it could stand up. She spun around in a Giant Swing, using the bot as a club to bash the others away before letting go and throwing her impromptu club back towards the factory on wheels from whence it came.
