"From what I've seen and heard, they're just a bunch of savages. Fighting with spears and hatchets and whatnot. If you can keep your distance they shouldn't pose any real threat."
Vicky replied to Sophia.
Code:
"Oh, and definitely don't try fighting them in the water."
She added, rubbing at her neck with her right hand.

You stand back a bit from the discussion, wondering how the meeting wouldn't look prepared for battle with an armoured battle suit front and centre. You don't say anything though, since the person in question doesn't seem like the type to argue with. You decide that you're probably best off trying to stick behind her, though perhaps not too close. As you think, Sophia says something about fish-people, and you wonder once again what you have gotten yourself into.

Sophia listened intently to Victoria's advice, nodding at the end. "Right, I can do that. And don't worry, I wasn't planning on taking a swim anyways." Sophia agreed, although joking a little about the not swimming comment. "Let's just try to act civil and hopefully they won't get too angry at everyone, right?" She asked in a rhetorical manner.

EMily decided to inform Shara as to what exactly their situation was.

"Seeing as how you're the second newest here, I'll recap for you as to what this group has encountered. Yesterday night we all arrived at a police station where we hear that a merman attacked an officer on sight, and that he plans on taking over Tokyo for his people. In the morning we head out of our hotel and fight a group of 4, one of which is a merwoman who has a flashing light they use to communicate. Afterwards we were able to study and replicate the flash they used. We then head to a school under a presumed hostage situation. We were able to thwart it off and get the only information that we have (and it's most of the reason why we're here.) They tell us that their kind was teleported to this world and that there's only a few dozen of them. Tokyo, Japan was chosen out of convenience for their invasion. And they claim that they asked to have the people move out first. And now here we stand."

You blink as EMily explains what has happened, replying with a short confirmation that you understood, though you hardly understood half of it. You still wonder what exactly a mer-person is but you are relieved there isn't an army of them. You are not entirely sure how well your ship could fire through water and decide it is best not to find out.

You also wonder how it could be convenient to colonise a place where millions already live, or for that matter why these supposedly aquatic creatures want to settle on land. Seeing how eager EMily is to give out massive amounts of information in one go, you hold your questions and instead tell her you are ready.

Massai Mara, Kenya - 3:39 AM

After spending just under six minutes in its cocoon, the bug stirred inside inside, then after a few second, ate it. Emerging being 2cm taller and 3cm longer, it uttered a noise resembling a yawn, its mandibles clacking rappidly but softly as it did, then moved back down the tunnel to where it had left the rest of the cadaver, eating the rest of it once it arive.

Not quite as gorged as it was earlier, the bug decided to eat some more to eat until it was full. Leaving the burrow, the bug crawled around for a short time, then ate what vegitation it came across, not bothering to go and hunt, know that although it wasn't absolutely stuffed, it was full enough that it would have an effect on its maneuverability.

Once it was full, the bug climbed up a tree, and laid dormant in the cocoon it spun around itself there for another six minutes. Once it emerged, it emerged being and 2cm taller, one 1cm longer, with with a somewhat longer head. Crawling down the hill, the bug opened its mandibles, and stuck out a fairly long pink tongue. The bug awkwardly flapped the tongue around for a moment, until it got the tongue to move the way it wanted, then pulled it back into its mouth.

For a moment, the bug laid down and thought on where to go next while holding its tail overhead and trying to touch its nose with it.

"Not gonna get in the way of trying to talk 'em down, but I'm not counting on it happening."
Vicky commented to Sophia.
Code:
"Ready over here."
She called to EMily.

"Very good then. I understand your confusion as you showed up in, hopefully, the final half of our encounter with these guys. These guys are like sea creatures. They walk and talk like humans, but they are also like fish. Some of them may have tentacles and some of them will have flashes. But most of them tend to use melee weapons like spears and axes as Victoria has explained. Now, I do love explaining things, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask." She said to Shana.

"Acknowledged. All that's left is Seras and Yorick."

"...Sorry, what?" Seras asked EMily, as she had not really been paying attention.

"I'll stick around for the negotiations." Yorick said simply.

"Oh, right. Sure." Seras said to EMily.

"Hey, take this and go climb a roof." Yorick said as he handed her a sniper rifle. Seras took it and went to go climb one the the warehouses.

"Without further ado." She took a deep breath "Here goes nothing." She entered in a message into her morse code translator, and she pointed Photon outward towards the sea. The light would shine at the end of the barrel.

"Alright." Sophia slowly nodded, keeping close-ish to EMily and Victoria, but definitely behind them. Her tail puffed up a little and her bare feet wiggled as she waited anxiously to see the fish men.

Samus stood a little way behind EMily, starting to clench and unclench her free hand, seeming nervous for the first time.

Under the Sea

The merfolk looked up at the flashing light. "I wonder who the humans are sending that message to... Let's find out."
The merfolk headed towards the nearest ship, one which had recently left the bay. The ship found itself being slowed down as something grabbed hold of it. Then, three large tentacles emerged from the water, holding three of the merfolk. "Translate that message." the largest merman commanded, pointing his trident towards the flashing light.

"Who me?" Sophia was taken off guard from Yorick talking towards her, adjusting her glasses. "Sophia Aethis." She stated, feeling like introductions wasn't exactly the most appropriate time at the moment.

She then looked towards the water, looking to see if there was anything to see, not currently looking in the direction of the ship with the tentacles.

"Hold the phone... it doesn't look like they're attacking the ship." What are they doing?

Seras managed to climb on top of a warehouse with little difficulty and started scanning the bay with her rifle while laying prone.
