A police officer approached the group members when they emerged from the building. Seeing the dead body Samus and EMily were carrying, he said something into his radio in Japanese.
Samus looked around as she heard the whalesong, trying g to determine where it was coming from.

Samus wouldn't be able to locate the exact source, but would realise the sound was coming from somewhere in the river.
Samus nodded to EMily. "You warn them, I'll get to the river." She took off, running surprisingly quickly in her full armour.
She nodded towards Samus.
She opened up Photon to a translation module and approached one of the officers and hailed them. She typed in a message into Photon and translated into into Japanese sound. It had a computerized female voice to it.

Some more police officers approached EMily as Samus ran off. The whalesong suddenly ceased. Upon hearing EMily's message, they began radioing for assistance.
Meanwhile, a pair of ambulances had pulled up. The paramedics from one moved the merwoman's corpse, but paramedics from the other began examining Seras to make sure she was okay.

The paramedics would likely think Seras was at death's door, considering her pale complexion and overall corpse-like appearance, but she tried to wave them away with a smile as she stood up from against the wall.
Samus would see nothing in the water.

A pair of merfolk, one tall and muscular, the other shorter and lithe, emerged from the water, followed by five others. They began making their way down side streets, keeping out of sight as much as possible. They encountered a few humans, but the larger merman simply decapitated them with his broadaxe.
After a few minutes, they arrived at a fairly large building, which they had scouted earlier in the night. Since then, it had filled up with a number of people. The seven merfolk quickly charged in, taking everyone by surprise.

Samus looked the river up and down, but saw nothing. She stood for a moment, deciding on what to do, then jumped into their river. Unlike last time, her newly upgraded suit gave her all the mobility and vision she had on land, though she still couldn't swim with it on. She looked around and at the riverbed for clues, scan visor active.
