We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

Stirring in its cocoon after rougly seven minutes inside, the bug ate its way out, emerging being a little over 3cm bigger. While it was more then twice as the size then the largest insect native to Earth now, the bug didn't have any problem breathing.

After eating the rest of the cocoon as it always does, it moved to each of the blocked up exits, and ate the material there too, leaving the burrow once the final blockade was eaten. Once outside, it clacked its mandibles once it saw the rays of the sun again, and began scurrying along, eating grass along the way. Now, with the ability to dig provided by its claws, the bug dug up the roots of the grass and ate those too.

After a little time of moving, the bug came across an area covered in foliage that had stood up fairly well against the shockwave. Crawling into it, the bug pulled off a selection of leaves snapped off shrub branches - those being easier to get to then the branches that were still intact - and ate them, until its attention was drawn to its attention was drawn to the cadaver of a Gambian pouched rat lodged inbetween the branches. That being more appealing the plant matter, the bug climbed into the shrub, somewhat clumsily, and moved towards the cadaver.

It first tried to eat the rat where it hung, but this dislodged it from the shub. Clacking its mandibles, the bug moved down again, and resumed eating its meal. Once it moved to the mouth of the rat, the bug found a small amount of nuts in the cheeck pouch of the rat, which the bug ate also, before continuing feasting on the rat. Finishing, the bug continued eating leaves for a time until it was full, where upon it climed into one of the shrubs and cocooned itself again.

EMily nodded to the coroner, and waited patiently outside. While she was waiting, she searched through her maps on Photon to see if there was a clothing store anywhere near here.

Samus looked at the maps,trying to learn the area.

 

[Slenn]

"This is my tool, Photon. It looks like a fancy electronic shotgun. It is a quantum computer, a computer more powerful in processing than the average electronic one. This computer is also able to help process some of my electromagnetism skills into data. It can also process the effects of tiny particles at the large scale."

The tool itself had its 'barrel' pointed to the side. The place where its handle was also projected a hologram in the direction of EMily's face.

Samus looked the "gun" over, scanning it.

Samus' scan would indicate that the gun uses quantum computing to compute all of the data sent in and out. EMily's abilities can be used in conjunction with Photon for atomic and molecular effects on a grand scale. Laser cooling is one of them as well as separating oxygen from hydrogen gas in hydroelectrolysis. Her gun can never be picked up by others, as it is tied with her genetic code. As soon as it is in the hands of another person, it dematerializes. Only EMily can summon the tool. The tool was developed by her father and the Tethen'gahni.

Samus' eyes widened a bit as she read the results of the scan. This was some serious tech. And it seemed at least partially alien. She made a mental note to ask about the Tethen'gahni at some point.

 

[Slenn]

"Sure it can. I have the map open. I'm looking for a clothing shop anyway. Here, I'll make it so restaurants are shown. But you won't be able to get anything without Japanese Yen."

Stirring in its cocoon after a just a little over six minutes, the bug ate its way out of its cocoon, emerging being a couple of millimetres larger then before. After eating the rest of the cocoon, the bug climbing down from the shrub it had cocooned itself in, the bug softly clacked its mandibles as it thought on where to go next. While it was idle, the bug began attracting copious amounts of flies due to its head and majority of upper the body being covered in blood as a result of eating its meals in the inefficient manner that it did. The bug tried to snap the flies out of the air, but had no more success in that then on its previous attempt.

Clacking its mandibles, the bug moved crawled around for a short while to find where the soil was the softest, and began digging oce it found a suitable spot. Once it had dug a hole large enough for it to fit in, it crawled inside and rubbed its back on the sand, then did the same with its underside. After repeating this process once, the bug crawled out of the hole, and began eating leaves ones more. It ate a little under a kilo worth of leaves, although only went for the ones it could reach, considdering climbing into a shrub to be more effort then it was worth, then moved further into the foliage to find something different to eat.

Moving with purpose, the grub made its way to a tree that was a little damage, but held up well enough against the shockwave. At the tree, the bug moved to the entrance to a burrow between the roots of the tree, and began digging to make it larger, being to larger to fit through it as it was. Having become a swift digger, this only took a couple of second after which the bug wriggled inside. Moving through the tunnels, the bug first made its way to the main chambers, but unfortunately for it, it didn't have the luck of finding the chambers currently occupied like the last time. Clacking its mandibles, it turned around, and instead moved to the storage chambers, knowing exactly where to go. There, it began eating the variety of nuts stored there. After eating a few more grames worth of those, the grub laid down and cocooned itself once more.

 

[Slenn]

"Well, we're staying in a hotel on the other side of town. After this, we can call a cab. I don't know how long the autopsy will take."

"I will stay here if I can. " Samus told EMily.

 

[Slenn]

"I believe it's located here." She pointed to the location on the map. "But we might as well chat while we're waiting. What is your line of work, Heavy?"
