"I dunno. Never heard anything like that before."
Vicky answered back to Sophia. She skated over to the first Gekko and pulled her blade out.
Code:
"That was you? I had a front row seat to that."

"A front row seat?" She asked, a brief pause in her expression as she realized what that might mean. She then gasped as she brought her hands to her mouth. "You weren't near that explosion, were you!? I'm so sorry I didn't see you!" She exclaimed, her tone showing she was genuinely concerned with what she had done.

Code:
"Yeah, probably my own fault. I was making myself hard to see."
Vicky said while looking away and scratching the back of her head.

"That's a terrible excuse though." Sophia shook her head. "I should have been more careful I thought there wasn't anyone on that one."

"[color=01A9DB]We're on a bridge. They could destroy it and kill us all at once. We should keep moving.[/color]" Roland said, walking away even as he spoke.

"We are?!" Sophia exclaimed, looking back to where the pillar was and saw where they were, then looking back at the random shop she'd been hiding near. "Well let's get going!" She agreed seeming to not like the idea of them falling to their doom.

Code:
"Look, just, don't worry about it. I'm fine now, it's in the past. No need to dwell on it."
Vicky replied to Sophia, her tone almost sounding irritated. She followed after Roland without saying anything else.

You wade through the waves of thousands, when, like a brilliant star on the horizon, you see the ones your sacrifice saved from a terrible foe. You focus all your strength, the utmost you can summon, and send it towards them, leaving you exhausted in it's wake. You filled this massive wave with assurance, that they needn't worry, but as you watch it fly away you see that it will lose much on it's travel. You realise, with heart-wrenching horror, that all that reaches your friends will be a faint cry of help from a familiar voice. There is nothing more to be done, you see a whiff of darkness as your strength fails you. In your weakest, you see a tall and fair being in front of you, smiling. You feel your resolve fasten, and you look at the brilliant star once more, waiting.

EMily and Gwen walked along with Roland to the other end of the bridge.

"Mmmmm?" EMily said.
<color=purple>"What is it?"
"I thought I heard a faint voice just a moment ago. Did you hear it?"
<color=purple>"I thought I heard something."
"It sounded so familiar."

The sectoid paused.
It thought it heard something.
Something...
What was it hearing?

It paused for a moment.

It focused.

It reached out it's mind.

Sophia tilts her head up as she looked behind her, her head moving ever so slightly as she tried to listen more. "I heard something too..?" She said a little spooked. "But if you heard a faint voice... and I still heard a faint voice..? How does that make any sense?" Sophia replied with concern, Sophia thinking that her hearing was better than EMily's and if EMily only heard something faint, she'd expect to make it out.

'What the hell was that?' She thought to herself.

Samus, who had been on lookout while the rest of the group talked, wheeled around cannon raised as she thought she heard something. There was nothing there, but she knew she heard a voice... Felt something... "Thought I heard something too..."

When the group was ready to move on, they'd find a plaza at the end of the bridge, ringed with pillars. It was curiously empty and deathly quiet.

"That is strange. I don't like paranormal stories, but this is just eerie."

<color=purple>"Speaking of eerie." Gwen looked around at the vacant plaza. She and EMily closed their eyes to concentrate on masses, metals, and electronics.

"Ok... this... This doesn't look very friendly here..." Sophia said quietly as she looked around. "Is there anything being said on the radio thingy EMily?" Sophia asked politely.

Roland heard the voice as well, but it was faint and unfamiliar to him. He quickly looked around, and seeing nothing at the moment, turned his attention to more pressing matters. Such as the empty plaza they were entering. "[color=01A9DB]They had to know we were coming. This is a trap.[/color]"

Tavish ignored the voice and looked around for something to kill.

EMily and Gwen would find their scans blocked, and there was a curious electronic ringing sound in the air. Closer examination would reveal the air was filled with tiny, confetti-like prices of metal and chaff. Samus took her helmet off, grimacing. "Something's wrong. My helmet display is malfunctioning and filling with static." Engineer's teleport would slow and stutter before stopping entirely.

Medic nodded, pulling out his Syringe gun.
"Yes. Zhis most certainly is. Now ve vait for ZHEM, to come to US!" he said.
He looked over to Demoman, beginging to heal him, "Vould you mind going to higher ground?" he said.
He watched as the medi-gun too began to slowly stutter and stop.

Engineer stared at his teleporter in surprise, and began to hit it with his wrench.
