We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

Getting the message Dave muttered some profanity about his ship getting smashed, but that he would check to see if there was anyone on board that could try. Once he was finished with the transmission, he made an announcement across the ship asking if there was anyone that could heal the poor fool.

Sophia had waited outside the bathroom with Victoria, the scene eerily silent when Dave's message was broadcast. Sophia jumped a little as the announcement cut the silence, but when she heard the situation she looked rather conflicted. On the one hand, she wanted to try to help this person if she could, but if the message was true, she'd have to leave the ship while it was flying which was a completely unnerving thought. Regardless, as she looked over to Victoria her face probably disapproving of Sophia putting herself in harms way, Sophia answered back. "I-I gotta do it, or at least try." Her eyes looked like she was resolute in her decision, even if she still looked scared. "We gotta find Gwen."

Victoria then led the way with to where the group was talking with Matilda. 'There's that smell again, who is that?' Sophia thought as she picked up on Matilda's scent before she noticed the blood. 'Please not another one.' She winced, hoping she wasn't about to see another scene like Samus missing an arm.

 

[Slenn]

<color=brown>"Oh shoot! That doesn't sound good. I suppose I could volunteer as medic if anyone else is unwilling."

 

[Slenn]

<color=green>"Hi there Sophia. You doing okay?" Winona said in a thoughtful tone, attempting to cheer up Sophia after the recent catastrophe.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Ya..." Sophia lied, obviously not doing the greatest, but there were more pressing matters. "You guys heard that announcement, right? I-I wanna help." Sophia answered back, clenching her fists a little due to nerves.

 

[Slenn]

<color=brown>"Very good then. I will ask Dave."

She promptly went over to ask Dave through the intercom if there was a teleportation device available or if he could dock with the other ship.

<color=brown>"By the way, I don't think I properly introduced myself. My name is Sara. Pleased to meet you." She bowed to Sophia.

OOC: I think they were in the cockpit to begin with. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

[color=006d5b]"I'm Matilda. I don't think we've met."[/color] Matilda said, presumably to Sophia, however the fact that she didn't turn her attention to the ferret girl gave no indication of this.

"I kinda figured actually. I think I've gotten used to just assuming that a maid that I haven't seen before is another Mason sister." Sophia admitted, extending out her hand for a handshake. "It's nice to finally meet you, I've heard quite a few things from your sisters." Sophia added, somewhat dwarfed by Sara's stature as she had to look up to her.

When Sara paged Dave through the intercom, she got a some course words thrown her way about the hole in his ship. Once he finally got done with that, he informed her that there wasn't a teleporter on the ship, and it was doubtful that there would be a means to connect the two ships as she suggested. Her fastest option was just jumping from the one ship to the other.

"Huh? Oh! So you're the one I noticed earlier, but... then that whole mess started..." Sophia looked back finally noticing Matilda. "Sorry I didn't say hello when I first saw you, things have been really messy lately. I'm Sophia, nice to meet you." Sophia let out a sigh.

Matilda turned to look in Sophia's general direction, and extended her free hand. [color=006d5b]"You're the one the knights are after, right?"[/color] she asked.

 

[Slenn]

<color=brown>Oh bite me. EMily fixed it for now.. She thought to Dave. She turned back to Sophia.
<color=brown>"Oh yes, I'm sure by this point that you also know about the color corrective lenses I wear."

Gwen blew a sigh and readjusted her mask.
<color=purple>"Then it looks like we're going to go sky diving, Sophia. I'll help you glide over." She said, while readjusting her mask.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Well, yes actually." Sophia said as she accepted the hand shake with Matilda. The texture of her hands was quite a bit rougher than what Matilda would normally expect from female hands, partially due to Sophia's carving hobby. "Word travels fast I guess... I'm really sorry you had to deal with that too." She admitted, sounding self conscious.

"Yes, right! I knew about that, but now isn't really the time." Sophia answered back to Sara as she let go of Matilda's hand. "Could we call it something else, like ship hopping or whatever... Should I have one of those too?" She asked nervously pointing at Gwen's mask.

 

[Slenn]

<color=brown>"Oh, I know. Don't worry."

<color=purple>"Oh shoot. I didn't realize that there was only one space suit until just now. That's where I borrowed this from. We can share the rebreather instead if that's okay. I can hold my breath if need be."

As Sophia and Matilda shook hands, Sophia would faintly feel as though something was poking around inside her mind. Any guilt Sophia felt, and whether or not she had acted unjustly, would be sensed by Matilda. [color=006d5b]"It didn't really affect me. I just stayed back here."[/color] Matilda replied.

Victoria didn't see any reason to be suspicious of Matilda as she might normally have been, since she doubted the knights would have been crazy and stupid enough to have an assassin try to kill Sophia after they had all died in a kamikaze attack. So she gave Matilda a nod as she stood nearby Sophia.

'What was that?' Sophia thought to herself as she thought over the feeling she'd gotten, rubbing her head a bit. 'Was that her?' Sophia wondered as she looked back over to Matilda.

"Wait wait wait! I don't think you holding your breath is a good idea either!" Sophia intervened, much happier to make sure Gwen could get them both over there instead of giving Sophia some and then falling unconscious half way there. As this thought crossed her mind her tail fluffed up again, the smell of chocolate wafting in the air again. "Is it really that far away?"

 

[Slenn]

Sara started to blush for a peculiar reason that was anyone's guess.

<color=purple>"We could ask Dave to tell the XCOM ship that we're coming over and to open a door for us. It won't be a long jump, although it will be exhilarating."

 

[Zepherus14]

"As long as it's quick... and you don't drop me, I guess that could work." Sophia said hesitantly, emphasizing the not dropping part. Although Sophia didn't have a fear of heights, she'd always been a bit uneasy about them because of her eyes. Without any apparent means for her to be secured to Gwen, it seemed like a motto 'Hand on for dear life' was pretty spot on. "W-W-We need to get going though!"

Matilda thought over what she'd sensed about Sophia for a few moments, before coming to the conclusion that, if Sophia had killed the knights, she had a good reason to do so. Matilda noted some guilt, but, based on Sophia's apology, assumed it was down to her presence causing the knights to attack the group.
Matilda didn't react to Vicky's nod, being unable to see her. After thinking about Sophia, Matilda made her way to the nearest wall and sat down, with her cane resting on her lap.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Don't worry, Sophia. I would never let you down. Let's go." She said, nodding and walking off to the airlock. <color=purple>"We can use the strap from the air tank to help secure you on to me."

Sara contacted Dave to get close to the XCOM ship and contact them that they have a medic arriving by skydiving.

Samus had backed away from her impromptu repair, heading into the ship. She noticed Matilda resting against a wall. "Are you alright?" she asked.

After nobody responded to Samus' question for a few seconds, Matilda said, [color=006d5b]"I'm okay. How about you?"[/color] Vicky may note Matilda not moving her head or eyes to look at Samus, and that instead Matilda continued to look straight ahead, at around knee-height.
