Recieving the blow with a fixed guard which quickly flowed into a trio of stikes to clear space Eragon turned briefly to see Will rushing to join the fracas. "He's beyond you Will even I only match him at the moment. " Eragon warned Will mentally. Seeing the blade come for him once more he leaned back, the blade passing over his head. Recovering he said "malthinae " and Jack was locked in place by a binding spell. "From my time here I've guessed that something keeps bringing new individuals here for a purpose, it took my dragon Saphira and I followed when it didnt want me to and I have hidden from it using wards and other less magical means. All I know of this force is something to do with a Library and the creature that dwells within."
Eragon released the binding spell when Jack's struggles made it illogical to continue expending energy to restrain him. Eragon was thankful for the respite however short and soon their blades crossed once again. Eragon occasionaly fired simple spells using raw force or present elements and had resumed his mental attack; his conciousness driving at Jack's like an icy javelin. He had not the time to word a complex spell in this hectic situation given the speed of his foe. For now all Eragon could do was keep up his attacks while learning of Jack and his purposes. Eragon had begun to sweat and his arms ached but he was loathe to use the energy he had stored within Brisingr. Now wasn't the time to use the vast amount of energy in his ring , Aren, either as for all the terrifying skill, speed and strength of Jack; Eragon felt like he making progress.
