The stranger's voice started sounding in my head, seeming to come from everywhere at once.


"Clever bastard." I thought.The silhouette in the gras began to move, but the voices were quickly beoming distracting. Deciding to try and get a reaction, I retrieved one of my last two grenades from my pack. After pulling the pin I held it for a few seconds, cooking the fuse. With only three seconds left, I threw it.

"Go on pal, run. I dare you."

 

[Shanaar]

"Ig etal lyng hig" Sear Drop said to Nicole.
Letting go of the tail of the filly Sear Drop said. "He kid. You oke? Your so quite all of a sudden?"
Looking around Sear Drop said. "Just what the buck is going on here? It is even weirder then the Everfree and that is weird. At least we haven't been attacked by a manticore or something."

Urai was having no luck finding anyone. When he got a message over the radios that they had all been given that a city had been found, he contacted the sender about it. "This is Urai. You say you have found a city?"

 

[Random berk]

Suddenly the radio hooked into the left strap of my hiking pack buzzed, and Urai's voice came through. Mercifully the volume was low.

"Sorry Urai. Can't talk right now." I muttered into the radio through gritted teeth, urging the enemy to reveal himself as the the grenade ticked down to detonation.

OOC: McMorrow? You still there? If not then I'm going to have to incapacitate your character. I've already had to say that one grenade was a dud, I'd rather not do it again.

Nicole thought for a second.
"I'm in a wood... with a wolf that's a massive pussy nearby... talking to a flying horse... with a puppy. I don't want to offend you, but I'm forced to assume Joel has drugged me. Again. I'm either tripping balls or Joel's bored and dumped me in a horrifying land of horror." Nicole paused.
"Again."

The radio was quickly silenced by a tense sounding Berk.
Judging by how the past couple days had been going, he assumed there was a battle. However, since he had uncovered a city, Urai had no idea where he was. No sounds of battle could be heard, so the best course of action would be heading back to the clearing that had become their camp, and try to track him from there.

That should be enough. Swiftrunner kept his lightiening pace but turned back towards the area of conflict. He should be behind the attacker now. He quickened once more at the thought of bloodshed.

 

[Shanaar]

"What? Your a figment from mine imagination. How else can I be talking with a walking skunk and come across a sister from one of the Elements of kiss my flank.....You didn't hear that last part." Sear Drop told Nicole.
"Also how else can I explain talking to a walking skunk with a name like Nicole. No I must have crash landed somewhere or hit a tree or rock while getting away from those spineless guards."

OOC: I'm going to have to introduce my character at some point. Can't have him referred to like that.XD Ok, I'm assuming McMorrow has logged off for now, so I'll take him down for now.

The stranger broke cover and sprinted away from the grenade, his machine with him. Quick as a snake I sprang up and hurled my kukri. It flew perfectly, blade over hilt, but before it struck him, the grenade went off. The stranger stumbled, and the kukri was blown off course. All I could do was curse and punch a fist into my hand as I watched the stranger flee.

Renlen felt a nudge and looked towards his right. GS had returned. Quickly holstering his Mauser, Renlen grabbed at GS and opened up his manual operations panel. Just then two things happened, the beast burst forth from the woods and a small plop was heard. Instinctively, looked at the source of the last sound and saw a grenade. "The shit has hit the fan." he thought. He reacted immediately. Cranking GS's projection power up to medium and mentally ordering a wide berth frequency, Renlen jumped up and swung his arm in the direction of the wolf man as he turned for the trees and pulled GS's trigger switch. A wide range laser burst forth, powerful enough to stun an elephant, from GS's optical receptors as he was swung in the arc. As soon as he faced the flaming forest, Renlen, clutching GS, began tearing for it's, relatively dangerous but still safer than this situation, cover. Renlen then hoped he had put enough space between himself and the grenade and GS might have hit something. Whilst running, Remlen quickly relayed one thought to the girl who hadn't moved once since this whole confrontation probably due to being paralysed with fear. "I held them off as long as I could."

my Internet was on the fritz. I was still trying to post when 5 came out of nowhere. The last one I saw was Urai's first one. Is the action you just did still going ahead or do I leave mine unaltered?

Apparently, he had been lucky enough to avoid the nade's explosion so Renlen continued on to try his luck in the flaming forest. As he reached up to try and keep his Sombrero from catching fire, his hands felt air. "Damn" he thought "I left my Sombrero." Rather than try and retrieve it, Renlen continued on into the depths forest, cursing at the fact he needed a new hat... Probably some new clothes as well soon.

Urai, hearing the sounds of battle, quickens his pace and emerges into the clearing. A sombrero wearing man with a robot is falling back from the two. Urai activated his cloak and made a straight dash for the odd man, but is too slow, as he escapes. Urai turns to the other three in the clearing. "Are any of you injured?"

my Internet was on the fritz. I was still trying to post when 5 came out of nowhere. The last one I saw was Urai's first one. Is the action you just did still going ahead or do I leave mine unaltered?

OOC: I've changed it so that my throw missed.

I dusted myself off as Urai arrived and began to sprint towards the fallen werewolf.

"I'm ok. Just wasted another grenade though. And the werewolf took a hit from some kind of laser."

Urai walks over to check on Swiftrunner. "Who was that strange man? And are you ok as well, Amaya?"

No! The human had got away! But now familiar faces and scents filled the clearing. Addressing Urai Swiftrunner began "No harm befell any of us, I aim to correct that when I -snarl- catch that human!" Rising from the floor after the magical attack, Swiftrunner growled as pain washed over him but he managed to rise to his feet.

Nicole sat down and thought. "Let's assume that both of us exist because that works. What're we doing? Who's this Kim you keep talking about and what are you delivering? And why do we have a little pony with us now." He stroked the puppy as he thought.

"Ah, good, you're ok then." I turned and went to retrieve my kukri. A thought struck me as I did so.

"Tell me werewolf, do you have a name? I didn't think to ask before."

"I am called Swiftrunner" He spoke with pride as he had overcame his bestial nature to find that name for himself. "What titles do you bear?" He asked the gathered group, forgetting the now escaped human but that hunt could wait for another time.
