"There you are Royce! What are you doing here, you know what? Don't answer that, will not matter soon, I was just about to find Joe and leave this place." Chak'tika heads back into the airport to find Joe.

Chak heard Joel's projection and completely ignored it, not even bothering to give him the Thri-Kreen equivalent of 'Go Fuck Yourself'.

As the three fumble in front of him, Laura nudges Charlotte. "Royce about earlier... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you..."

"Uh Chak...I think Joel is..." Royce started to say when the three girls walked up to him. Royce heard Charlotte start to apologize to him and immediately felt awful. He grabbed her hand gently to make her pause. "No Charlotte, please stop...I'm the one who should apologize..." he had to look down at the ground for a moment before he could continue. "I-I had no reason to be angry at you...you were right to be angry..." he stopped again to compose his thoughts.

@Joe Yes. That's how Joel's corruption works. He plants an idea in someone's mind. When he corrupted Millicent, she was unaffected for about two years (I think) until he brought it out.
What he's doing here is basically screaming it into Joe's brain. The last part he actually said to Joe aloud.

Mnemosyne sighed. Snapping her fingers, the people came back into existence, completely unharmed. "Because it was in the way of my light..."

Charlotte looked back at Royce. "No, no. It was my fault... I had the experience of that system first hand... As did the rest of the IS cadet pilots of my time."

Laura nodded. "I was Luftstrom... Ichika and Houki were the Twin Hitokiri... Cecilia was the Blue Angel... And you Charlotte... Char d'Arc"

"not much of a sense of humor though...oh, well maybe another approach" he created a ball of pure energy and then shaped it into a giant bullet and hurled it towards Uranus and then pulled out his blade and charged at him slicing at the head but Uranus was able to avoid and merely lost one of his horns

"But that's what makes me feel bad! You DID try to explain it to me...everything, the suit, the competition...I just didn't want to listen..." Royce insisted. "You know...I don't think I've really thanked you enough, or could thank you enough, for all the help you've given me, even though I haven't always been very grateful...I...I'd probably be dead right now if not for the training and information you gave me...and you too Laura..." He finally released Charlotte's hand and he leaned back against another wall.

"It...it's just been hard to deal with the stress of knowing that my whole world, everyone one I know, everyone I'll ever meet, everyone I'll NEVER meet...is depending on me for survival...but I don't need to tell you that I guess..." as he spoke he sank lower to the ground, his knees suddenly feeling weak.

Chak'tika sighed and said to the projection, "You just don't know when to give up do you?" He pulled a scroll from his pack and read the inscriptions. Silence. Joel's projection was silenced, unable to produce any sound, physical, mental or otherwise.
