"I'll wait until your business here is concluded before continuing. I'll be outside." Balthier said to Edgar before heading outside. Once outside, he noticed the two furry creatures argue. Seeing as how there would be nothing to gain from doing so, Balthier didn't intend to interfere and sat down on some rubble instead.

Edgar nodded and returned inside.

"I was able to hear every word, Bryce. And I sincerely apologize for that interruption. You were talking about being an internment camp, being a carrier, as well as being a mercenary? What were you a carrier of? A disease, a power of some sort?"

Ryu makes his way to the court yard. I wonder where everyone is...

"disease. It makes you strong, or fast, or deadly, depending on it. Carriers got personalized versions, able to grow claws and spit acid. I hunted them, when they went rogue and tried to infect others."

"Oh most certainly." Rozalin replied to Bullet as she took another drink. "This has been one of the few moments since arriving here that I have been capable of enjoying." She overheard the two Yordles arguing from her seat in the courtyard and sighed once again, though this time she was obviously annoyed.

@Rosh: Nah, I was just gonna go out and grab something since nothing was happening with my character.

 

[Chungus]

"Ah. You're also still alive." Balthier called out to Ryu upon seeing him, raising his voice slightly to make himself heard. "I hadn't seen you during the battle yesterday and assumed you died in the blast. Glad to see that isn't the case. We could do with your sword-arm in the days to come." His gaze then returned to the two arguing Yordles. I wonder how long it will take before those two will start throwing explosives around...

 

[Slenn]

"So then, how did you wind up here? And if this isn't about Eve, then is this about the Overlord and his henchmen? The ones who attacked the town yesterday? And also kidnapped the mayor?"

 

[Saltyk]

"Let them argue. It is none of my concern. As long as they don't cause problems, they can do what they want." Ryu replied to York.
He looked over to Balthier. "Yes, I was observing the battle. I wanted to see what their intentions were. I also figured I could help defend this castle if they attacked it. I wasn't aware of the sabotage they had prepared, though." He explained.
"And I'm sure you'll need more than my blade."

Rex observes the two Yordles while still leaning on the castle gates, minding his distance. [color=008888] I swear if I get hit by another explosive, heads are gonna roll. [/color]

"Like I told you. I watched people walk by when they could stop and help me. They thought they could ignore me and the problem would go away on its own. You could have stopped the massacre, saved innocents. You didn't. Because it wasn't your job. Because you had to focus on your castle. People watched that day, when they lined us up to be shot. Only people who intervened were my merc group. They saved my ass, and helped me get abroad. Only reason I'm alive right now."

"I think it has been proven that their actions are less then benign. It was quite the clever trap they laid out. Fortunately for us, they sprang their trap at the wrong moment. Though I do wonder why they simply didn't open fire using the cannons their airship is undoubtebly fitted with." Balthier replied, then paused. "Ah. No matter."

"You mean just relaxing?" Bullet asked Rozalin.

"While I admit the carnage was horrible. I hardly even know what the conflict in this realm was until just a few days after I came here when that ship showed up. I came here with my men from another world with no prior knowledge as to what this place was. This mission was to be entirely expeditionary. But seeing as how people have attacked my holdings twice for minding my own business while trying to figure this world AND this conflict out, I've realized that I will have to possibly engage with the enemy. Maybe you can blame me, but you should stop throwing out blames out of anger. Likewise, I'm not throwing out any blame for the explosions yesterday. Blaming just causes hatred and makes one loose focus on the task at hand. Don't be pointing fingers at people, point where you need to go next."
