Ness walked into the government building, sighing a bit. Wait... just because they have the same eye color doesn't mean they both were enlightened. That other girl's probably just there to help... unlike I was.

Walking up to the counter, she waved toward the receptionist. "Hello. Uh... the museum you showed me to didn't have enough to help me with my research. Is there anyone else that I might be able to talk to to learn a bit more?"

Hearing a voice in her head, Ness shook herself before responding. "Uh..... Hello....?"

 

[Furioso]

Rita hopped up onto Fafnir's saddle before she flew off.

 

[Kirke]

(To Ness: We did meet at some point, I believe. You know Jessica, yes?)

Jessica took the most time in climbing into Fafnir's saddle, once again approaching the creature in a very deliberate manner and making no sudden movements. After climbing up into her seat and grabbing hold of the straps to help keep her from falling off, she breathed a small sigh of relief.

Ness had a bit of a puzzled expression before recognizing the voice. "...Tophat... right? And yeah... what about her? ...Is she hurt?"

 

[Kirke]

(To Ness: Not physically. However, she is under the influence of a curse that I am certain involves mind-control. She and a few accomplices have possibly attempted to murder a princess Ina, and managed to jail me. They are highly dangerous, and at least one of them can turn invisible from most kinds of detection.)

After a while of traveling, Fafnir reached the Wild Lands. Flying over te island, he spotted a base built near a lake, looking to be of Xiphatian make. This would be a good place to start... Landing Fafnir in sight of the lake, Loki unmounted and grabbed the Fafnir's reins. When Rita and Jessica unmounted also, Loki began walking up to the base, the guards stationed at the gates drew their swords. "Halt! Who goes there?"

"If you would lower your weapons. We are here on an errand for the crown."

"What are your names?" one the guards asked.

"Loki, of Asgard."

"Posibly. What kind of research are you conducting?" the receptionist asked Ness.

Marcus would find that whenever he neared one of the buildings the GRUNTS guarded, they tensed up, as if ready to strike in an instance.

"I wouldn't mess around with them if I were." a fisherman said to Marcus as he passed him walking besides the docks.

After some thought, Estella had a idea. That being that attacked the abbey... It was a shapeshifter. Hmm... Reaching for her pendant, Estella spoke to all soldiers still within Shaintaio over the channel meant for that purpose. This is Lieutenant Lucis. In the interest of national security, I declare Farwind Penitentiary under official lockdown. I want a force of fifty men stationed outside the complex at all times. None is to enter or leave without clearance from myself. The imediate use of lethal force is authorised should this be violated.

OoC: @Nail: & @Dot: I have to sleep now, but if Tophat would be able to find out that knocking someone out broke the mind-control, it would tell Ness to knock Jessica out when they were alone. Otherwise, to be careful and that Tophat would contact her again soon.

Also, @Nail: Is the Penitary place the prison?

When Fafnir landed, Jessica climbed off as quickly as she could. She followed Loki as he approached the base while keeping herself as far from Fafnir as she could manage as he led the creature along. When the guards of the base she was approaching drew weapons on her, she held her hands up in front of her. "Uh, my name's Jessica. Dr. Jessica Broca."

Marcus bit his lip. "well Hell, I didn't realize everyone was so edgy. Did something weird happen that I missed? Maybe connected to whatever happened in Rockbyrd?"

@Kirke: Later dude.

Ness forwned a bit as she heard Tophat. Before she could ask any other questions, Tophat told her it was busy. Mind control...? But she's definitely not a mindless zombie... Maybe that's the point of it... This means I definitely can't ask her about it up front.

When she realized the receptionist had spoken to her, Ness scratched the back of her head a bit. What should I say... She took a small glance at her pocketed PDA and noted the battery icon. "...Energy."

 

[Furioso]

Rita dismounted Fafnir and lined up next to Jessica and Loki. "I'm Rita Mordio."

 

[Chungus]

OoC @Kirke: Yes.

"One moment." the guard said after Loki and co stated their names. Reaching for his telepathic necklace, he went to verify the names, and if they indeed had been sent on an errand for the crown. There was silence for two minutes, and after, the guard nodded. "Alright. Your stories check out. Follow me, I'll lead you to the captain."

No. That is time I would much prefer to spend doing other things. "Sir, we would rather now waste any time, and get to this as soon as posible. If you would just tell us where these patrols were last seen."

"Sorry, sir. But I'm afraid I don't know this. You'll have to speak to the captain."

Loki sighed. "Rita, Jessica,. Would you go to meet this man? I shall find a place to tie up Fafnir." having said that, Loki turned around and began walking off, taking Fafnir with him. With his back turned, he reached for his pendant. Be curt about this. As soon as you learn where these patrols were last seen, cut it short and leave. I have no intention of actually doing this.

The receptionist thought for a moment. "Well, the people at the labratories here specialise in energy sources. Would you like to see one of the researchers?"
[hr]
"Rockbyrd? Dunno anythig 'bout that. That's Xiphatian teritory. No, this place is on high alert for the posiblity of Xiphatian invasion. Can't tell you much more then that. It's not like us common folk are told much." the fisherman answered Marcus.

With the orders given, Estella walked over to a window, looking out over the city with her hands beind her back. This should satisfy the master... Now, could I get anything done to have the death sentance handed out prematurely? And Ardimas... I need to make sure he doesn't catch wind of this... Turning away from the window, Estella returned at her seat at her desk. That will come later. Now, to see if there are any ongoing inquiries on the master and his followers.

 

[Furioso]

"Alright, lead on." said Rita to the guard.

Jessica gave Loki a nod and a "Yes sir." before he turned and walked off. She turned her attention to the guard and waited for him to lead the way to the captain and would follow him once he started moving. She received Loki's message, but didn't make to send a confirmation, as she thought her reaching for her necklace might seem a little suspicious.

Ness shoved her worries about Jessica in the back of her mind as she nodded toward the receptionist. "Yes, that would be much appreciated."

 

[Chungus]

The guard lead Rita and Jessica through a series of corridors, into a small, square room, lit by a dozen crystals that emitted multi-coloured lights. Inside, there was a wooden table with four chairs, two on either side. One the side that was opposite the door, sat a woman in a Xiphatian officer's uniform.

"Take a seat." she said as she rolled out a detailed map of the Wild Lands on the table.

The soldier that had lead Jesica and Rita inside returned to his post, and in his stead, another guard waited outside the door to lead them back out when they were done.

"Alright. You will need clearance for that. What's you name?" the receptionist asked Ness as she began typing on a computter in preparation.

"ah. Well, could you point me to a lab? I grabbed some stuff that might be of interest to a doc of the scientific variety."

"My name is Reiss LeBlanc..." Ness replied. How do I free someone from mind control...?

Rita sat down in the chair "Alright, so where should we start looking for the patrols?"
