Now a safe distance from Jess and Bryce, Rita stopped outside the cave next to Nybeth and Loki "We have a problem, some friend of Jessica's, says he's an investigator or something, is over there talking to her." as she said this she charged up her magic and launched the coffin over the nearest ridge, away from the direction Jessica and Bryce were.
Well. That takes care of that. Loki thought as he watched Rita launch the coffin, then looked back to Rita herself. "We had best not jump to conclusions. Let us go see what questions he is asking. Lead me to where they are." he said to her, then turned to Nybeth. "If you would wait here." Turning back to Rita, Loki shrouded himself and her. "Be ready to destroy him when I give the order."

"Sure, no problem." Jessica replied to Bryce. She took in a deep breath and dusted off her mental link with Ness. "Hey Vanessa! How're things going for you? You mind telling me where you are right now?"

Nybeth shook his head at Loki. "Not exactly. I managed to salvage the spell-casting ability, but it is drastically less powerful then it was before." He nodded to Loki and waited for him to return.

Loki followed Rita, having heard Nybeth's reply, but resolving to continue the conversation later. Once at the crater, he crossed his arms and listened.

"Seriously? That's new." the soldier remarked, suprised by Ness not wanting anything in return. "Alright. Follow me." He began walking to the main mine shaft, motioning for Ness to follow. "We've cleaned up the majority of the contamination, but the point where the contamination originated from proved a pain to clean." he explained on the way.

Bryce nodded. "So, how've you been? Seems like you got some contacts or something." he pointed to his eyes. "And hows this group like? You enjoy it here?"
"I'm pretty good! Things have been going a bit more smoothly on my end recently. Good to hear that you're doing fine. What are you busy with?" Jessica telepathically said to Ness. While waiting for a reply, she turned back to Bryce and said, "Vanessa said she's busy with something." It took her a few more moments to realize Bryce had said something else to her. "And I'm fine. Everything's going fine." She answered, not addressing his comment about her eyes.
Loki hmm'd as he listened to the conversation between Bryce and Jessica. Reaching for his pendant, Loki telepathically said to Jessica, On the comment of the eye colour, answer that you were offered a chance for your mind to reach your its full potential, and you accepted.

Jessica simply nodded back to Bryce, then went off to staring at nothing as she contacted Ness again. "Oh, so you found a lead then? That's good...Still though, be careful...anyway, I've got that Bryce guy asking me about when you'll be done...do you happen to know when that will be?" As she sent out her thoughts, she started pacing around the area. When her back was to Bryce, she reached up to her chest and grasped her pendant for a moment. "Alright, I'll tell him that if he asks again." She replied to Loki.

Bryce glanced over to where Rita had wandered off to. "If you'll excuse me, think I'll just take a walk." With that, he began following the path Rita took, curious as to where she ran off to.
"We cannot have him stumble upon Nybeth's lair." Loki remarked as Bryce began walking towards where the cave was located, stepping out of the way so that he wouldn't bump into him. "Quickly, go to Nybeth's cave, but stop halfway there. Cut him off and pretend you were practicing your magic." he ordered Rita.

"I'm not sure myself... I'll tell you as soon as I finish up." Ness telegraphed to Jess as she followed the soldier. "I'd guess so... I might be a bit slim, but something a little big for me wouldn't be a problem as long as the suit is sealed, right?"
