The gem discharged a blue glow, but rather then seep through the sternum and enter the heart, it only dispersed before disappearing a second later. "Why is this not working..."
Jessica's eye twitched in annoyance as she received Tophat's message, not that anyone would likely notice. "What the hell do you want? I'm busy with my own things going on here." She replied to Tophat, her mental message sounding very much like an irritable snap. She groaned to herself as she took notice of the situation between the others at the temple from afar. This is just all kinds of unpleasant... She thought to herself as she rubbed the bridge of her nose.
Ness stayed silent as she noted to herself that the scepter changed people's eyes blue. Maybe I could fool them into thinking that it was a delayed reaction..?

I know a guy who can slip me an echolocater, so the whole mind controlling is the only problem I need to prepare for." As Bryce spoke, he flipped his coin, opening another portal. He didn't step through it yet, however.

The brainwashing seems to be connected to Loki's scepter. He presses the blade against your heart and causes your eyes to turn blue. If you're going to try and take him, get something to block your heart from being touched. That's all I can tell you."First time for everything I suppose." Bryce walked through his portal, calling out to someone on the other side "Andrew my man, think its time I collect on that debt for keeping your little underwater utopia hidden from the soviets..." the portal closed before a response could be heard.
"Nothing out of the ordinary. But keep her restrained for now." Loki answered Rita, lowering Ness' shirt, then stepping back from Ness. "And bind her legs as well. I am taking no chances." Having said that, Loki lifted Jessica's shroud. "Jessica, come here." he said with a demanding tone.

As the blame for this lies wholly with you, you must be the one to resolve this dilemma." Loki paused momentarily, grinning maliciously. "Kill her."

Ness' eyes widened as she heard Loki. She simply bowed her head down and waited, holding back a few tears and failing to do so.. ...Better her than anyone else... "I'm sorry, Jess... Had I just listened to you... this wouldn't have happened..."
Jessica went wide-eyed at Loki's order. "Okay, now, while I agree that this whole thing is due to a massive fuck-up of mine...[sub]Since when is that ever not the case though?...[/sub]I can think of better solution than just outright killing her...Please just give me some time to actually think of something." She answered Ness while avoiding looking at her as much as possible, "...No, it's entirely my fault...just let me try and fix this now..."
