Truly? I was not aware of this. Loki commented in responce to Jessica, then stepped through the portal. Back at the temple, Loki lifted his own shroud and telepathically spoke to Nybeth. It is time. Gather the four thralls capable of utilising earth magic. Once Jessica has created the portal to the intended destination send them through and have them block of the door leading to the rest of the palace located in the end of the hallway, then have them seal of the doors of the other rooms on the left side of the hallway while sending through the rest of the thralls.
Jessica erased her portal in the palace as thoroughly and quickly as she could manage, then teleported back to the temple. She took a piece of chalk and drew another portal circle, this one bigger than average to accommodate more traffic. Once she was finished, she activated the portal. Before she could go through and test it however, Nybeth sent his Earth magic zombies through it, having grown bored of poking at the brain-in-a-jar for whatever reason. Assuming the painting was accurate down to the last minute detail, then the zombies would appear in the room Loki wanted them to be and would fulfill the orders they had been given, immediately exiting the room and sealing it off from the outside.
Ness smiled a bit as she loaded the charged bullet into one of her magnums and fired it outside the temple. The magic ended up making the bullet leave a flaming trail as it flew through the air. "...Very nice."
Seeing the zombies filing through the portal, she sighed. "We'll have to wait until later, I suppose. Sorry if that was inconvenient for you."

While nothing in the hallway had been altered since the painting was made, the lighting was different, since the painting being made in the late afternoon, and it was currently night. Naturally, the guards weren't there in the painting either.

As the zombies appeared in the hallway, they were imediately spotted by the guards there, while few launched small ice spikes at them, none had the time to propperly take aim, resulting in the attacks missing. Once the zombies left the hallway and sealed it off from the outside, one of the guard reached his his pendant to request assistance, taking no chances.

Ness calmly followed suit after Rita, summoning a silenced black sniper rifle from her belt and loading it. [color=666666] Right. Let's get this done quickly. [/color]
As she made it in the hallway, she fired a single shot toward the head of the guard calling for help, her eyes making the shot much more accurate.

Nybeth's Earth zombies continued with Loki's instructions, sealing off every other doorway in the hallway that they noticed by breaking the floor apart and using bits of it to barricade the doors.
Nybeth sent the ten zombies he had with him at the time through the portal, at which point they immediately opened fire on the guards they saw on the other side. Taking out a few chunks of human bone, he prepared the ritual for casting the spell he used to summon more of his zombies.

Taking note of the fact that she was the only one not shrouded, Jessica clasped her pendant and asked, "What am I supposed to do then?"

Appearing on the other side of the portal, Loki first was to move away from it so to not block it. When a sufficient distance away from the portal, Loki looked around to get his bearing in the large hallway, between the chaos. Spotting the door that lead to the room the royals were in at the northen end of the hallway, Loki motioned Rita to go there. Making his own way there, Loki heard Jessica's message, and reached for his pendant, answering, Prepare to extract us when I give the word. That is all.
There were twenty guards between Rita and Loki and their targets. They formed a position that blocked off the hallway, with ten guards in the front, crouching on one knee, and the other ten behind them, remaining standing. Two guards in the rear focused on raised a barrier infront of them, while the remaining eight at the rear launched ice spikes at the zombies. While they didn't aim for either Loki or Rita, given that they couldn't see them, they were in the line of fire.
The other ten guards at the fron stood by, channeling magical energy in preperation.
Ness' shot was dead-on, the bullet passing through the visor of the guard's helmet, and leaving a bloody exit wound on the back. Needless to say, he wasn't able to finish requesting back-up.
Given that since Jessica was no longer shrouded, the portal could be seen, plus the earh using zombies having come through, the 24 guards on the southern end of the hallway had ample time to form defensive positions, using combined barriers to block the incoming attacks of the zombies. Six guards drew their swords and charged at the zombies at varrying speeds, and when in range, worked to surrounding them by attempting to drive the zombies closer together after the attack from the guard at the northen part of the hallway would hit, doing this with slashes that wouldn't prove very damaging. With their comrades engaged in melee, the remaining ten of the 18 remaining guards stood by and waited for the zombies to be driven closer together. The other 8 launched medium-sized ice spikes at the earth-using zomies, all aimed for the center of mass.

Rita hugged the wall, and targeted the soldiers who would put her into the line of fire. From beneath that group of soldiers the ground beneath them rose up as spikes, rising up to chest height.

Seeing the guards attempting to take the zombies in one set-up, Ness quickly switched out to her RPG and fired two rockets: one directly at the the group standing by and the other toward the 8 spellcasting guards. She moved away from her current position out of reflex to reload.
The Earth magic zombies were all struck by the attacks that were aimed at them, but seemed to pay barely any attention to them. Instead, they aimed their efforts towards collapsing the ceiling down on top of themselves to make it much more difficult for reinforcements to reach the room that Loki and the others were aiming for.
The zombies in the main area of the hallway shrugged off the piercing ice attacks. Seeing their bullets get blocked by a barrier, a few of them tossed grenades at the guards, aiming for their tosses to land between the guards and the door, hopefully getting behind their barricades. At the same time, the rest continued firing, reloading when they needed to, then immediately start firing again.

Jessica stood by at the temple once more. She sat down and waited, going back to snapping her fingers in front of her face and frowning when she proved still incapable of hearing anything.

As Rita's earthen spikes pushed up against the barrier, a large portion of them was crushed to dust, and by the time the spikes weakened he barrier enough to pass through, the guards had already moved out of the way. From his position, Loki seized the oppertunity provided by Rita and fired an explosive energy bolt at the section where the shield was weakened. While the explosion wasn't nearly large enough to kill any of the now more spread out guards, the heat did wound one to such an extend he needed healing, while others were thrown off-balance by the shockwave.
As keeping up the shroud on four people ontop of fighting proved strenuous, the shroud flickered for a moment, revealing the positions of Loki and his subjects for a moment, before they were hidden again.
Seeing the RPG missile seeming coming out of nowhere, the guards that stood by aborted what spells they were channeling, and instead, three of them raised a barrier. Given that they had only a fraction to do so, however, the barrier they raised wasn't enough to completely nullify the blast. The blast knocked six out of the ten guards off their feet, while others stumbled backward. The noise the blast produced left the guards desorientated, and unable to do much more then to feebly attempt to regain their balance. The missile had also done significant damage to the floor, through which one could now see the floor below.
Not quick enough to raise a barrier, Ness' other RPG was more efficient against the eight spellcasting guards, with two guards being killed in the explosion, while another one was wounded by the shockwave and debris. This blast did damage to the floor also, but not as much as the first.
The two grenades landed near the the guards that Ness had fired at with her first RPG. The explosions they provided crumbled the floor on which the guards stood and laid, dropping them to the floor below. The gunfire of Nybeth's other zombies killed two of the six guards engaged in melee with the zombies. The remaining four continued to slash at the zombies, now not with the intention of driving them together, but outright kill, as the slashes were aimed for the necks.
And then! Poof, time bubble.

Tophat noticed the explosion and gunfire at the palace, and also noticed that Jessica was at the temple. Deciding to cut off their exit, Tophat contacted the Rookie and made him hurry towards the temple. Then it made its way towards the palace, making guards not realise who it was.
