Nybeth completed his summoning ritual by chanting, "Denizens of the abyss! From ink of blackest night, I summon you! Darkness to me!" On the ground, a massive circular glyph of purple colored light appeared. From within the glyph, Nybeth's remaining zombies appeared, being summoned from some unknown place. He ushered them into the portal, which progressively flooded the hallway the battle was taking place in with animated corpses. Once all his zombies were through, Nybeth himself went through.
With the shear number of zombies in the hallway, Legaian zombies set about surrounding the Xiphatians who were engaged in melee with other zombies and proceeded to beat them with their rifle butts. Their attacks however proved successful in beheading the zombies, though they remained standing and joined in on the melee, using their rifles as clubs as well, swinging somewhat wildly as they no longer had eyes to see with.
The Earth magic zombies managed to collapse the walls and ceiling in the hallway adjacent to the battle, but had to do so in a way that would bury them underneath all the rubble.
Nybeth's remaining zombies crowded around the hole the other guards had fallen through. Once around it, they fired downward into the hole at their targets. Since there was only a limited amount of space around the hole where one could reasonably stand and look down into it, a few other Legaian zombies tossed some grenades down into the hole instead.

Jessica watched Nybeth's display with a great degree of curiosity. Once it was over with and the summoning circle faded from existence, she went back to sitting down and trying to think of things she could do to keep herself busy while waiting for further orders. She eventually settled on looking at the portal she had created with her back to the entrance of the temple, snapping her fingers in front of her face once again.
