At this point, any attempt to speak made by the miner turned into incomprehensable whimpering.

As Yukino left the palace, she would notice several miners walking down from the hill healing up to the mine's entrance.

"Try to limit the amount of people he murders, I guess."

 

[Slenn]

He was going to say something else to ease the shopkeeper's mind but instead something else.

".......Nevermind. I should leave." Was the only thing he said. He closed the shop door.

He found Savranth walking around.
"You were more than right. It's impossible at this time. The man just said to take anything while cowering behind a desk. Damnit, I should've known better. I don't even think we could get a room at the inn here."

Ness sighs as Echo turns away and looks over at Rowena. ...Sounds like what Rex and Yukino's relationship is like... Wait... Ness facepalms herself suddenly, before looking around and realized Yukino wasn't there or anywhere. "Speaking of what Rowena said... when was the last time any of you saw a twin-tailed foxgirl? She had a bit of a wild look to her and a katana strapped to her belt..."

Yukino (disguised as a man) quickly shifted to the side and tried to stay out of sight, but within listening distance of the miners coming down.

Echo turned back and stood beside Ness, still rubbing her eyes.

Adam stood up, rubbing his shoulder.
"You mean Yukino? Well, she was going to kill Blake and his men before he got a chance to attack this city, but she was still asleep when we left the library. I left her a note, but she mustn't have got it. Or she managed to get lost, somehow."

Rowena offered Echo a small chocolate.

Savranth was looking around the town. Things seem more ordered and lack color... The capital is like this, too, but this is just a town. I don't really like it... Is this the other half of my heritage?
When Dal'Sheen appraoched him, he nodded. "Yes, I feared as much... I suspect that they would be a bit scared after a man tried to eradicate the city itself. Shall we see if we can't find some place to sleep, at least?"

"I see... Perhaps we should cage that man?" Athena replied.

Jessica simply nodded at Lyra as she walked off. "Well, there was a...people died here. You're acting a little nonchalant for what's happened." Jessica replied to Kyouske. Seeing Ness and Echo nearby, she walked over to them, "Everything alright with you two?" She asked. Hearing what Athena had said, she nodded at Rowena in agreement of her suggested course of action.

"I... I don't know... These memories are just..." she sighed again, rubbing her forehead.

Kyosuke shrugged. "It's kinda... well you get used it."

"Yes, we should." He paced forward slowly, trying to take his time. He enjoyed the misty air after a rain storm. And took deep breaths to take in as much as he could before it would go away. "I always liked rainy worlds. I live underground along with the rest of my civilization, my colleagues, my friends and my family. So the only way I knew of experiencing what rain was like was through visiting other worlds."

Ness calmly patted Echo on the back before looking over at Adam and sighing. "...I was afraid of that. If we catch wind of any cities randomly exploding or mass murders happening, I'll know where she is... This place is too vast for me to try and track her down for now..."

As Jessica comes over, Ness looks over at Echo and sighs again. "We both haven't been injured physically, so yes, I believe we're both alright. Are you?"

Echo looked from the chocolate to the person offering it. Since she didn't know them, she was wary. She distractedly nodded to Jess.

"Memories, meow? What are you remembering?" Tao asked out of curiosity. She was very tempted to touch Charlotte's breasts, so she put her paws behind her back and leaned even close to the other woman's face, her tail swaying behind her slowly.

"Not with the faeries, the treants. The faerie are not under such terms, but unlike the imps if they do try anything it's about the same damage any child could produce. The treant are a people that live in the woods, well I guess as a manner of speaking they are part of the woods. They resemble living, walking trees and are very protective of their land and forests."

Icarus pushed off of the miner's head, and spun around. "I trust you can find yourself the door?" He said as he snapped his fingers. The man was forcible brought to his feet by the puppet magic, as Icarus walked back to his throne. He stared at the man for a brief moment before saying. "Leave my sight."

"That must be an odd experience. Here you could always ask a Water Magic user to recreate the experience for you. I've never been a big fan of rain. Probably why I never bothered studying water magic myself." Savranth replied as he walked with Dal'Sheen.

Charlotte pulled alittle away from Tao's face too. "Please.. Please don't too close to be either... But the memories... I. I just don't know. A ship, terrible things... But... why?"

"It's been roughly 4000 years since our original exodus from our planet. The world we live in currently was not our original home. Our geologists speculate we live at least 3 miles beneath the world's surface. None of us have yet to go up there and see what's on the surface. A lot of the high officials in the Guild are too afraid that our city will attract outsiders. So instead we bide our time, describing worlds in linking books so we can travel to these worlds to gather resources while we excavate the caverns. The last time we probably lived in a world with rain in it was 4000 years ago. So that's one of the reasons why so many of our linking books take us to places that are totally unlike what our place is in the caverns of D'ni. We only know of rains from thousands of years ago." He said solemnly.

Lyra tapped her foot for a bit in one of the city streets, until eventually the call was answered.

"Oh Jesus, why is the damn receiving call so loud? What is it?" an angry voice barked. "That how you want to speak to your long fang Marcus?" Lyra softly said, glaring at the screen. "ah. Well, you stabbing out Blake last time I saw you made me unsure if we'd gotten much more relaxed." Lyra chuckled, and responded "No no, that was just me settling a traitor. If you'd actually stuck around, you'd have heard about him selling us out to the betrayers." Marcus paused, before responding "Ah, fair enough then. still, might want to explain that next time. I was quite worried you'd gone crazy. So, what are you calling about? We won't be over the planet you're on for another day or so, but if-" Lyra interrupted, saying "A day? Xyleena told me a week." The voice on the other end laughed. "Xyleena? No fucking wonder you weren't sure, that girl's an idiot when it come to math, bless her unique little soul. Yeah, we'll be here in a day or so. Got your message, by the way. We've been making the astartes landing craft, and we've added a heavy laser to run off its power system, instead of the usual sprayer." Lyra nodded, and commented "Good call. They're pre lasers, so they'll be impressed with the weaponry, on top of the mech. You okay with being stranded?" The voice paused again, and said "Well, now that I know you didn't stab Blake for the hell of it, I won't mind it at all. Any other reason for calling me?" Lyra said "Yeah, could you send me the first part of Dancing Blade's report on the first Great Hunt? Like, right now?" "Sure. Sending now." Lyra's bracer beeped, and she said "Thanks, might call again later. Just a heads up."

Jessica raised an eyebrow at Kyouske. "You seem kinda young to say something like that." She commented. Turning back to Ness, she said, "Yeah...I'm fine. This blood isn't mine by the way." She motioned at the blood-stains on her clothes. She sighed and said to Ness, "Maybe it wasn't such a good idea for you to leave the fox on her own. You said you could control her, right?"

Kyosuke was just smiling happily. "How one looks is completely different from what they have experienced. Take for example, my mom." He motion to Noel, who seemed to be sleeping. "How old you think she is, without knowing my age?"

Adam looked at Jessica's bloody clothes.
"No. It's mine." He glared at Rowena.
"What? I had to sever your arm somehow." she said, her voice slightly muffled by the chocolate.
