As Marcus squats down next to Xyleena, the shimmer in Ness' eyes fades. She shakes her head slowly as he talks to her. It's good I got some info out of her about those two. It seems she's a bit unfortunate to be paired with someone like this.. "No, she hasn't. I hope you didn't mind me talking to her." She replies with a bit of a smile.

As Noel walks past, Ness looks over but decides not to follow at the moment. Poker.... huh....?

"Nice to meet to you guys." Laguna looked at Charlotte, concerned. "Say if you feel ill, allright? I'm sure there's a hospital around here. Where are you guys going, anyway?"

Tophat landed right next to Echo, sideways.

"I believe his name was... Dal'Sneeze. Dil'Slenn. One moment..." The lab woman went to a computer and brought up some information. "It was Dal'Sheen. That was his name. He spoke to Lucia about a artifact or something."
She walked back over to Rita. "Will there be anything else?"

Turning to the door, Loki counted the footsteps, estimating how far Marco has away. Believing to be out of earshot, he turned back to Jasmine. "Fear not. I have no intention to make you do whatever is expected of you in this abyssmal place. Quite the opposite, in fact." Loki answered, stepping closer to Jasmine, but keeping a fair distance to avoid spooking her. "I aim to free you, and all the other women in this sertitude you have been subjected to. But... I am afraid this will take time." he continued, speaking in a hushed tone.

Noel gave a small smile to Tao. "I'm going to see if we could get some more money for food and to travel Tao." Turning to Savranth she said. "Well, there is a Poker tournament at some place called 'Heavenly Honor 14 on the Rocks bar and grill'. We could get some extra money if we tried."

"They tried to find something wrong with me, and couldn't. I haven't a clue what was going on."

Dal'Sheen... wasn't he one of the people who arrived with me? she thought "No, that's all." said Rita as she walked back into the streets, and again began to wander through the streets and various back alleys.

Um...I'm holding a cat, so... Echo thought to Tophat.

"Sooo...poker is like a game, meow? And Tao could get food for winning?" Tao asked, getting excited by this idea.

"Ah, its no problem. She needs a friend or two, the young'un." he gently rubs the back of Xyleena's head, which she seems to purr at. "Well ma'am, if you promise not to abuse her, I'll leave her with you." He stood back up and left Xyleena with Ness, who hopped once or twice in excitement. He joined the main group, and said "Wolves grand champ, 3 years running in poker. What you need one for?"

Xyleena exposed the teeth in her mouth in a facsimile of a smile, and cocked her enlarged black skull, examining her with unseen eyes. "You have a nice hat ma'am."

 

[Saltyk]

"I see. I'll pass, my luck is rather abysmal." Savranth replied to Noel.

"Free me?" 'Jasmine' seemed to brighten with hope for a moment, but then quickly remembered herself. "Just what do you mean by that? I don't want to leave this servitude for another. I'd like to go back home."

Ness gives a nod in response to Marcus, before smiling at and attempting to pet Xyleena. "Thanks, Xyleena. You have a nice smile." How... does she know I have a hat on?

Hearing Noel, Ness looks over a bit before standing up and beginning to head toward the bar. "I guess I'll go ask a little bit more about the prizes, then. I've come out decent when I've played poker back home."

"Hmm... a lotta unexplained quirks in this world, it seems...Maybe we should try and find a healer..."

Noel nodded at Savranth. "Fair enough. Same here." Turning to the new guy she says. "Just some extra money for transport. Or food."

Turning to Tao she said. "Yes." She nodded at Ness. "That works. I can't win a game back home with the Company."

Rita's wandering eventually led her to Laguna, Charlotte, and Kyosuke.

"I know, I know. I mean't someone who could heal, not just magical healers. Besides, this is a pro-tech town from what I've seen." Laguna saw Rita, and gave a small wave.

"I mean exactly what I said. I aim to free you from this place. It is a travesty that should not be alowed to exsist, and yet here it stands, in all its rancid "glory"." Loki answered, placing obvious mocking emphasis on "glory". "Where I would normally report a vile thing such as this, it is appearant none care enough to take action. This place, it stands in clear sight in a vast city, and yet days pass, and the perversities cotinue undisturbed. That is why I must go about this by other means. Wich, I am sad to say, will take time before realized fully."

"Awesome! Tao's totally gonna win this game and get ALL the food, meow!" Tao said confidently.

Well if you really need to be on me... Echo thought as she reached for Tophat with one hand. Hey wait. How do I know you aren't some kind of trapped evil spirit looking for a new host or something? she suddenly thought before she picked up the hat.
