After the relative ease of descending from the mountain on which the ruins had been situated, Maria carrying Lilah and the hooded figure had been making uninterrupted progress across a large plain. The journey had been relatively peaceful so far apart from the un-natural silence that seemed to surround the third member of the party. Maria was having trouble keeping tabs on the person as they seemed to rarely make any noise as they moved making it difficult to pinpoint their location. Soon enough the three crested a rather small hill and saw in the relative distance what appeared to be a body of water that ended at a series of strange buildings that towered slightly over the walls near their base. As they got closer they noticed that there was no entrance inside on the side they were on so they began following the wall in the direction away from the water. Soon they reached a part of the wall which seemed to be unblocked and walked within. Immediately they greeted by the various colors of Lakewest's buildings. "Ooooo...." Maria murmured in wonderment at the sight, Lilah current condition and her need to see a doctor momentarily forgotten. The hooded figure looked around unimpressed before moving past the awestruck Maria and starting to head further into the town.

Echo was sleeping with her head in a book near Holly.

Rex shrugs, hiding his slight surprise at Blair suddenly waking up. "I'm not sure just yet... All I know is that I can't go down... so the logical way to go is around... But I'm gonna need a map to see which 'around' sucks the least."

In her search, Ness eventually comes across Holly. She smiled a bit as she approached the little creeper girl. "Good morning, Miss Holly. Did you sleep well?" Seeing Echo still asleep, Ness decided not to disturb her just yet. Seeing Echo also reminded Ness of Tao's disappearance. ...She would've found me by now, since she's been eager to be around me recently... Where could she have gone...?

As she dragged the corpse of the goat in to the dragon den, Rita would find Fafnir and her young were resting. Loki sat against a wall, but looked up at Rita. "That... looks like quite the messy kill." he commented with a small frown.

Fafnir's dragonlings, on the other hand, perked up upon smelling the corpse and jumped up, dashing over to it.

"That's your excuse? I'd almost think you were on drugs." the soldier said to Trilby with a bemused tone. "Right... Anyway. What can you tell me about that madman that followed you here?"

"Yeah, go ahead." the soldier answered Grace as he stood up and walked to the door. "And we're about done here. Time to go back to your cell."
[hr]
Eventually, the soldier who had been speaking to Tedd returned. "Right. We've got someone by that description you gave in custody, but we don't currently know her name. Follow me, I'll take you to see her."

The soldier held out the datapad towards Rookie. "I was told that on this thing is something that can potentially prove your innocence. Show it." the soldier stated, not particularly fancying trying to operate the datepad himself in fear of it blowing up.

Books on various religious rites of the Cult of Alnitak aside, Ness wouldn't find much more on the subject of religion.

Marston would find two Legaian guards standing outside of the gates.

Brooke continued searching the library for books discussing ghosts.

"Well, I was. But I think I've come down now... Anyway, that guy's from the Mall too. We met on a station called Gashog 2. Other than the fact that he likes to kill people and take their eyes, I don't know much."

Holly nodded to Ness. "Yesss thanksss" She said, as she got to hug Ness. she looked over at Echo and giggled a little. "I guessss sssomeone sstudy to hard!"

"Maybe we should ask around for one then?" Blair said to Rex, as she put a hand on her hip.

 

[Furioso]

"Well my first attack cooked it, but didn't kill it. Anything else I did would have destroyed the meat, so I had to bash its head in with a rock. Besides, they don't seem to mind. What do we do with it now? Let them eat, or withhold it and use it as treats for good behavior?"

Tedd nodded, and followed them.

Grace nods, and follows them into her cell, in Squirrel-human-form.

@Nail: Yuki was still cloaked. And Forward is the Xiphtian base, right? Cause that's where she was.

Ness growled a bit as another search turned up useless. Her mood got a bit better as Holly hugged her. She giggled a bit toward Echo. "It appears so! What were you two studying, by the way?"

Rex shrugs again before hopping off the rooftop. "Sounds like a plan, maybe we can buy one." He says as he starts walking toward the shopping district.

OoC @Dot: I assumed she'd make a thud upon landing, even when cloaked. But of that isn't the case, I'll go edit that/ And, yes it is.

"Let them eat for a while. This lets them know ours is that hand that feeds them. But save some portions of the meat for later as a treat, as you said. Perhaps the legs will work best for this purpose." Loki answered Rita. Fafnir remained where she was, letting her young her before she herself would tug in.

The soldier groaned at Trilby while shaking his head. "Whatever. You're free to go. But know that you're being watched from here on out. And cover up those weapons and mechanical arm you have while you're in Xiphatia, unless you want a repeat of this everywhere you go."

The soldier escorted Grace back in to her cell and raised the barrier once she was inside.

Not long after this, the soldier escorting Tedd lead him to Grace's cell. "Is this her?"

"Howdy there, gentlemen. I don't suppose you'd have a problem with me going in this base?" Marston askedin his gruff but amiable voice to the two soldiers.

 

[Furioso]

Rita nodded and went to take the legs off.

Envy, getting bored with waiting for the guard, snuck back to the prison as a rat/fly as needed and set about exploring the place.

(To the Rookie: Play the recording from when you first dropped towards Earth, but skip the boring parts.)
The Rookie looked at the soldier and blinked once before nodding. He took the datapad and worked for a bit before placing the datapad back on the table.

Spoiler: Spoiler'd for length

The recording began with the Rookie looking down on Earth from his drop-pod, still hanging aboard a UNSC ship. Then, a sergeant yelled something over the com and a large amount of drop-pods dropped down towards Earth. After a course correction, the Covenant ship going into slipspace caused a massive EMP. The helmet cam shorted out and the screen turned black for a while before showing the Rookie's approach over the Forward defence base.

(To the soldier: He was part of a elite team tasked with infiltrating that ship, but after that explosion he found himself in your world.)

"Will do." Trilby said. He removed the holsters from his belt, and put them in his inventory.
"Just out of curiosity, what's your problem with technology?" he asked as he pulled out two different holsters. Inside each of these, instead of a gun, was a pair of wands.

Brooke, seeming to have no luck, expanded her search to books mentioning anything to do with death, undeath, or the afterlife.

Holly shrugs. "I wasn't reading anything...." She looks down to the ground a little. "[sub]I can't really read that well...[/sub]" She said to Ness. She looks over at Echo, trying to look at the name of the book.

Blair hops down a follows. "I guess you have some cash then?"

"Tedd!" she said.
"Grace!" Tedd said, walking up to her and hugging her.
"Why are you here..." he asked.
"I tried to defend Tao, but I was arrested..." she said.
The two of them seem silent for quite a time, until they both nod.
"So... When will she probably get out? What's she charged with." he asked.

@Nail: No, she wouldn't have. Ever since last thread, she's been able to keep her footsteps and landings silent. But I probably should've wrote that in, my bad. And was just checking to make sure it wasn't the Legaian base, cause what you posted would've been valid then.

Ness nods toward Holly before lightly tapping Echo. Noting Holly's sudden turn in expression, Ness shakes her head a bit. "Not being able to read well isn't that much of a problem. You're still growing and learning, so reading will get easier... as long as you keep working at it."

Rex digs through his pockets and finds some gold coins. "...Lucky me. Yeah, I got some."

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica stepped out of a portal in the Winterhorn library, appearing a short distance from where Ness, Echo and Holly were. She waved to all three of them and gave the trio a semi-quiet "Hey." on account of finding herself in a library once again.

OoC @Furioso: Lolz. I completely forgot about Envy. :x Where is Envy, exactly?
@wacky: They can't hug. Tedd is on the other side of the barrier.

While Rita removed the legs, the dragonlings were munching away at the stomach area of the goat.

Brooke would find that there were two known types of ghost. One would be the kind appearing as a vaguely humanoid semi-transparant apparition, often incapable of speech. The other would be the ash ghost unique to Valencheirn. There have been sightings of the common ghosts in both Xiphatia, and Legaia. It is still unknown how ghosts exsist and appear to be sentient, the ash ghosts raising even more questions.

"That depends what you want to enter for. State your business." the soldier on the right answered Marston.
[hr]
"Moments of peace aside, us Xiphatians, who use magic, have been at war with Legaia, who use cursed tech, for longer that anyone can remember. A war breaks out over some dispute, then we have a couple of years of peace, then war again."

"Well, I'll be damned..." the soldier said as he watched the recording. "So you really came from another world..." he continued, blinking a couple of times once the recording ended. "Well... Anyway, from another world or not, you were still fighting a Xiphatian citizen in the street, causing unrest and endagering the lives of other civilians."

"I can't say. I dont know what she's charged with." the soldier who escorted Tedd answered.

"Alow me." the soldier who had questioned Grace interjected. "With all she's charged with, she's looking at six years in prison."
