OoC @Furioso: You can go to bed, me thinks.

"The stench coming forth from this place proved difficult to ignore." Loki said to Nybeth as he watched the corpse shuffle back to where it had been standing before, turning to Nybeth fully once it had done so. "Gathering corpses in various stages of decay tends to have that effect. But enough of that. Let us get the formalities out of the way before moving on, shall we? I am Loki. And by what name might I call you?" he asked, climing down the tunnel further, reaching the main chamber.

Erica couldn't help but laugh softly as she was praised. "Thank you. It's true I have a passion for what I do. And yes, I've seen more then a few demons. They're in my own dimension too. Although they're called Deadra there. Them aside, I've seen various other demons in another dimension. Although, I don't really remember a whole lot about them." she explained. " Not that there was much to remember, mind you, as all of them tried to kill me and my companions. That doesn't exactly provide a good oppertunity to get to know them."

Ness sighed again. "I'm still under suspicion, as they were uninterested in asking me anything that actually would have proven me innocent." She continued without looking at Hellosh. "Is this how you derive pleasure to fill the void of not being close to your loved one, Mr. Hellosh? Playing worthless games and the like?"

"Yes, Mr. Logan." Ness replied flatly to Bryce.

Rex nodded a bit as he chuckled. "No problem, miss. I understand what you think about demons. The majority of them, at least from my world, are pompous assholes. They've started to rub off on me a bit too... it kinda sucks. So they were trying to kill you and your group? I can relate to that in a few trips I've had." He walked over toward Erica and extended a hand. "By the way, I'm Rex. Nice to meet you."

@Rita: How do you burn down a cave? That takes some major skill.

"I am Nybeth, of house Obdilord." Nybeth replied to Loki. Motioning to Rita with his walking stick, he asked Loki, "So am I to assume that you are the 'master' of which this young lass has spoken so highly of? Or have my experiments been fruitlessly interrupted?"

"Sure. Whatever you say." Jessica nonchalantly replied to Hellosh.

 

[Furioso]

OoC: @Drak, "Easy, the place is practically dripping in embalming fluid. A spark would set this place off."
4:17 AM, Off to bed, @Nail, control Rita as necessary of course

Rita nodded "Indeed he is. Like I said, he can show you the secrets of the universe."

"I am indeed he. I came to understand that you seek the knowledge I can provide?" Loki asked.

"Oh, I'm not judgemental. As long as they don't try to kill me, or anyone else without a propper reason for that matter, I have no problem with them at all. In fact, one of my friends used to be a demon." Erica answered, then shook Rex's hand. "Likewise. I'm Erica. Are you a student here? If so, I might run into you again."

Bryce laughed at Hellosh's comment, and stretched out on the seat. "Sorry Miss Vanessa, I wanted to catch the guy who thinks hes crazy over here up on the facts. Apparently for him everything is dark and bitter, and as long as he thinks its right everything is just fine and dandy for him, never mind the mistakes he made. Would you mind if I put him down? He strikes me as someone who'd threaten actual innocents if left unchained."

Rex smiled toward Erica before stretching out and heading outside. "Glad to hear you're not judgemental. Would've made this conversation pretty awkward. And naw, I'm not a student, but I'll be hanging around here for a while, more than likely. Hope we meet up again sometime. I could use a new look for my front yard back in my home dimension. Later, Erica." Once he heads outside, Rex goes to sleep in an empty guest room.

Ness shrugged. "My plan was to stun the guards, deactivate the barriers, and then remove Tao. However, that required me to actually be at the jail in order to do that. I have numerous people who could confirm my being at the Lakewest bar at the time of Tao's breaking out on her own."

Turning toward Bryce, she gave him a disapproving look. "Violence isn't the answer here. Redemption is. Not divine, but self-redemption through other means. Killing him would solve nothing and waste a life. Life is valuable no matter how worthless it may seem."

She gave Hellosh an icy, unamused stare,unphased by his smile. "You're spouting excuses for mindless murder, just like that ***** Yukino. I have someone I hate, but I will not get my revenge on them by killing them. ...I'm not out for revenge at all. I just want them to see the error of their ways, so I can help them change for the better. Now, I'll be off to bed. Good night, Mr. Hellosh." She rose up and headed toward the Barracks, giving a hug to Jessica. "We'll get moving tomorrow."

 

[Drakmorg]

"That depends. There is but one type of knowledge I truly care about. I wished to meet you as I was uncertain if it was knowledge in the field I valued that you could provide." Nybeth replied to Loki. He began restlessly pacing around the main chamber of the cave. "I assume one as knowledgeable as yourself is capable of guessing as to where my interests lie. Or perhaps if you know so much, you already knew the answer before I asked it." He chuckled to himself as he continued to stroll around, examining the corpses he had gathered.

Jessica inched as close to Ness as she could, as Hellosh was creeping her out immensely. When Ness got up and left, she closely followed after her, not wanting to be around Hellosh any more than she had to.

Noting Jess following her, Ness put her arm around her as they walked. Once they made it to the Barracks, Ness found an empty room and hugged Jess again. "Don't worry about him. We'll keep our distance from his hatred." She calmly cooed before going to lie down.

OoC: Night.

"I would say it takes not a learned man to know what interests you." Loki answered Nybeth with a unamused tone. "I may yet be able to provide enlightenment for you. What is it exactly you hope to accomplish by raising a legion of shambling corpses?" he asked after a pause, placing minor emphasis on "enlightenment".

Erica cheerily waved Rex goodbye as he left, then reached into her satchel and retrieved her notebook. Opening it, she began scribbling in it with the piece of charcoal.

Bryce shrugged, and his jaw snapped as it extended from his body, a snout forming from his nose. "Perhaps I am just a dog. Just a low, sickly, stupid foolish dog. But if you're a sign of the smarter breed, I'll stay a mutt. Much more enjoyable. Less lonely." he pulled out a casino chit, and flicked it into the air. A portal formed, and the half dog moved to step through it. He paused, and said "Although, if you're fall back defense is 'other people will show up and shoot you' then you might want to reconsider calling me an unintelligent chimp. Especially if something like that can orbit unimpeded. Which it has." he points to the large predator ship floating over the planet, visible even now, a dagger hanging overhead. He steps through the portal, and it closes behind him.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." ...Really wishing I'd just done that to begin with. Jessica said, still feeling somewhat unnerved and just generally down about the previous encounter. Sighing, she laid herself down in another bed.

"Hmm." Nybeth hummed in response to Loki. "What is it I hope to accomplish? Acquiring knowledge, of course. To be truthful, the 'legion of shambling corpses' is little more than a byproduct of my research. Not entirely useless to me, but far from the end goal of my efforts. What I truly intend to do is to surpass death!" He declared. Turning on his heels in a manner that was more swift than his appearance would lead him capable of, he turned to face Loki. "What say you? Will your 'enlightenment' grant me the knowledge I seek? The knowledge required to defy the end itself?"

 

[Chungus]

"So it is ascension you desire. Yes... This I can provide. Not directly, of course, but I may show you the best path to take towards that end. I myself am immune to the test of time, by far older then my appearance would suggest." Loki answered, grinning mischievously as he spoke in half truths. "Accept my offer, and the answers shall come to you, as they have come to my companion. To give onto you, the knowledge you seek, I need touch your chest with my scepter." he added, holding up the scepter, the gem glowing an eerie blue in the darkness of the cave.

Finishing writing in her notebook, Erica stuffed it back into her satchel and hmm'd as she rubbed her chin. Now what to do? I'm hardly tired... She thought as she left the main tower. Eventually, she decided to explore the college grounds.

"Hmm...I accept! T'would be foolish of me to not accept every avenue of knowledge that could be provided." Nybeth replied enthusiastically.

@Nailik: Ah what the hell, let's give Loki access to a zombie army. What's the worst that could happen?
So what exactly does the staff do again?

OoC @Drakmorg: What the worst that could happen? Nothing! Nothing at all. [trollface]
When MC'd, Nybeth'll retain his basic personality, with the addition of taking orders from Loki. Aditionally, he'll feel like he had some grand revelation. Since I'm not exactly sure what this is, I'll leave it to you how to interpreped it.

"Excellent. Let us get started. This will take but a moment." Loki said as he approached Nybeth. Placing the longer blade of the scepter against Nybeth's chest, the blue energy flowed from the gem, into Nybeth's heart. Momentarily, his eyes turned pitch-black, and after this, Nybeth's eyes were coloured blue. "And thus it is done."

Nybeth then passed out on the cave floor, the mixture of the revelation given to him by Loki, the borderline toxic fumes, and having spent a significant time working proving too much for him to stay conscious.

OOC: Because it's way too damn late for me.

Loki raised an eyebrow when Nybeth passed out. "That has never happened before... Huh." shrugging, Loki left Nybeth's cave and made his way to his own, not paticularly caring if Nybeth had been hurt in the fall or not. Once outside, Loki took a deep breath, taking in the air not thick with decay. A welcome change. How anyone can stand to be in that stench for any amount of time is beyond me. Not to mention how... unsanitary being surrounded by corpses must be. Shuddering slightly, Loki entered the dragon den, passing the corpse of a cow that Fafnir had brought back earlier, its bones nearly picked clean.

Rita had returned to the dragon den earlier, being to tired to stay up any longer. Loki sat down against the wall of the cave and fell asleep.

OoC: Since there's nothing more I can do now, I'm off.

OOC: So we've got Envy and Loki running around the world, and somehow Tao is seen as the biggest threat around by most people. Damn, this is just...surreal...

Once Envy had returned to the ruins he began to take pictures of them with the camera Lucia had given him. He made sure to take pictures of the scribbles on the wall, the door, and most notably every angle he could get of the key indentation

 

[Chungus]

Loki too was awake, and busy with the arduous process of saddling up Fafnir, fastening the many buckles that held the saddle in place. "So, the enlightenment of Nybeth was sucsessful. We now have a new ally. And no doubt his skill at raising those that are dead will prove useful at one point or another. Although I can see no usefulness in them for our goal as of yet, I do see the potential of it."
