"I suppose you're right about that. If we take too long in finding Taokaka then they may just assume you decided to run away and send some people after you." Jessica replied with a sigh. "Still couldn't hurt to ask before we leave to start looking though."

The smell would obviously lead directly to Nybeth's cave. Though it seemed to be started to die down a bit, as it would only remain thick in the air if people were to follow the stench to the mouth of the cave.

Ness gave Bryce a distrusting look as she pulled her leg back. "I'm not a fan of inflicting myself with mental disorders, Mr. Logan. I understand a bit about your virus due to Ms. Skye, and I'll have no part in contracting it. As for the bracelet, it's simply connected to me. I don't know it its a magical link or a physical one. It may be both..."

Turning to Jess, Ness nodded a bit. "Yes... It wouldn't hurt. I'd prefer to avoid fighting if possible." I wonder if I could pass as a secretary.

OoC: How would the virus fix any of Vanessa's problems? Bryce is really bad about spreading that thing...

"We likely are on the verge of finding out." Loki answered Rita as he approached the mouth of the cave, frowning at the stench. Entering the cave, he climbed down, looking around and seeing...

Rita followed Loki, fingers pinching her nose at the stench.

Rex gave a small bow to Erica before scratching the back of his head. "Thanks, miss. Sad part is I'm not that good with that. Also, you're just travelling dimensions for the hell of it? You sound like my boss."

"How about prosthetics? Or peglegs? Are you getting my point, miss Vanessa?" Bryce asked, still in a neutral tone of voice.

"Oh of course! I'd prefer if you avoided fighting too. I just don't want anything really bad to happen to you." Jessica replied to Ness. She gave Bryce an odd look after hearing about a virus of his. If she didn't have her arm around Ness' shoulders she'd have been trying to subtly inch further away from Bryce out of reflex. Upon hearing Hellosh, she immediately turned and started glaring at him as though if she believed that if she did it with enough intensity that she could burn a hole through his skull.

Upon entering the cave and climbing down into the main chamber, Loki and Rita would see a less than pleasant sight. The chamber had no less than a dozen human corpses strewn about the area. Most were propped up against walls, while a few were laid out on the ground. The bodies all seemed to have obvious wounds indicating how they died, as well as they were all wearing either Legaian or Xiphatian military uniforms. They all seemed to have died fairly recently too.

Nybeth was standing with his back to the entryway, and seemed to be the only moving thing in the room. A large bowl was barely visible past him, and he appeared to be using it to mix together chemicals into a foul smelling concoction.

The smell was far worse than it was from the outside as well, with it now being clearly identifiable as a mixture of corpse-rot and embalming fluid.

However, Loki and/or Rita might notice something moving around in his peripheral vision if he were particularly observant...

Ness blinked before shaking her head toward Bryce. "With all due respect, Mr. Logan, I find it idiotic to do that just to avoid capture. ...Like I've said, I'm not going to run. I'll find a way to prove my innocence. Testimony for my alibi should be more than enough." ...Hopefully.

As Hellosh approached, Ness sighed and her belt began to glow faintly. She looked toward him with contempt. "Good evening."

Rita, being of the observant type, looked towards whatever was moving, hiding her disgust for now.

Seeing the corpses against the wall, and te stench they produced, Loki grimaced, now holding his nose as Rita did with his free hand. What a grotesque sight... What madness would lead a person to live like this?

Having keen senses, Loki too noticed whatever it was that was moving around in his periphal vision. Stopping, Loki griped his scepter tightly and turned around, ready to either strike or evade if need be.

"Oh? It seemed efficient enough. How are you not good with it? And just what did you do? It seemed like some form of lightning-based magic, but then again, I've never seen black sparks before, so I could be wrong..." Erica said to Rex, then smiled. "Oh... Look at me, rambling like that. Back to the point, I'm not exactly jumping back and forth between dimension for no reason. I wish to see new things to get inspiration for my work. Broaden my horizons, if you will."

Rex scratched his head a bit. "Yeah... it was lightning-based, just added some demonic energy into it as well. And I'm not that good with it because the person who taught me that move could take out about 10 armored units with one swipe. I can barely get one..." He tilted his head a bit. "That aside... What do you work in? Having to travel for inspiration makes it sound like you're an artist of sorts."

Ness sighed at Hellosh's question. "Even if it was a suspicion, I'd hold off on calling someone out until I had more proof of it..." Just like I want to do in Tao's case...

Rita and Loki would see that off in one corner of the chamber was another corpse, this one of a Xiphatian soldier. Yet this one was standing up on its feet and not tumbling over. It was obviously not alive, as its skin was a sickly grey and it had several holes in its chest that appeared to be bullet wounds, multiple of which would seem fatal, and all of which were caked over with long dried blood. It started moving towards the pair who had recently entered, more staggering than walking.

"Well now that's just impossible, isn't it? After all, you told me yourself you're pretty much nothing but a bitter sad-sack that doesn't so much as trust anyone, much less actually be able to care about anyone." Jessica then turned away from looking at Hellosh with a 'hmph'.

Rita took a chance, after all, they were here for a reason. "Hey corpse guy! Call that thing off if you want some of that knowledge my master has to offer!" Her attitude would have been far different if not for Loki's influence

Bryce looked between Ness, Jess, and Hellosh, and said "oh, we hate this guy for getting Tao convicted? Gotcha." he then also glares at Hellosh, before shrugging and closing his eyes, humming various tunes. If someone knew the songs, the tirle would all have various phrases meaning 'fuck you', including the memorable Cer Lo Green song.

OoC @MC'd Rita: "Truly, my influence has done wonders for you."

A draugr? Loki thought as he saw the shambling corpse, not all that fazed by the appearance of the corpse save for finding it unpleasant to look at. He looked at the robed man that was Nybeth, then back to the zobie. This person uses some manner of magic to re-animae the dead, it seems.

"As my companion said, recall your thrall, would you?" Loki chimed in after Rita, looking back to Nybeth once more.

"Demonic energy? It's been a while since I've seen any demons. You don't strike me as paticularly demon-like, however. But I suppose looks can be decieving. And practice makes perfect, as the saying goes. You can hardly expect to be a master of the art like the person you learned that technique from after only a few tries. Anyway, I suppose you could say I'm an artist of sorts, but I work with plants and ornaments, rather then paint or stone. I'm a landscape designer, you see."

Ness looked over toward Bryce and sighed slightly before turning to Hellosh. "Nothing can be said for sure about her without proof. As for me, I'm going to prove my innocence. And obviously, I haven't been jailed. I'm sorry to hear you have no hope for your loved one."

"He didn't get Tao convicted, he's the reason I'm under suspicion of breaking her out." Ness told Bryce.

Rex nodded a bit. "Yeah.. I'm a demon, more or less. The thing is I've been at this for months... But yeah, I'll get it eventually." He nodded as she mentioned her job. "Ah.. Landscape design... To travel a dimension just for inspiration, you're pretty committed. I respect that. ...Wait, you said you've dealt with demons before?" He added, slightly shocked by the news.

Hearing Rita, Nybeth looked up from his mixing. He uttered a sigh as he placed a lid over the bowl he was working with, then proceeded to remove a face-mask and thick gloves that he was wearing. After doing so and setting his safety wear aside, he simply held up his hand up above his shoulders, holding it completely flat.
The corpse immediately stopped moving forward, then turned around and shuffled back to its corner, where it continued to simply stand, occasionally swaying slightly to one side before righting itself.
Nybeth chuckled a little before saying, "I was not expecting company. Twas, in fact, the decided factor in my choosing of this place." He slowly turned himself around to face Loki and Rita, the sound of his walking stick tapping against the stone floor echoing around in the cave.

"Hey, you're the one who said you don't trust anyone, not me." Jessica replied, not seeming to show any sympathy for Hellosh.

OoC: @Loki, "Better for YOU maybe, I would have burned this place to the ground before this freak had a chance to turn around!"

"The smell made it to our cave, we're probably the only one's who will find this place anyways." replied Rita.

OoC: Unless I'll be needed for this, gonna have to go to bed soon. If I'll be needed I can stay up a bit more
